Hey guys, this may be off topic, but just a quick heads up.

If you, or anyone you know, is driving down to Disney for a Spring Break.

The Florida Highway Patrol is currently running a "Zero Tolerance" operation on I 95, I 75, I 4 and the Turnpike.

Seriously, they are not playing. They "might" give you ten over....they "might" not.

On the way to work this morning I was passed by Three Minivans (yes, Barry, I said minivans). One from Connecticut, one from New Jersey and one from Maryland. All of them moving over 80 mph (I admit I was shocked and had to double check my speed to make sure I was seeing what I was seeing:lmao:)

The reason I was "passed" by them is that they were headed into what is locally known as a "Florida Highway Patrol Nesting Area". I had sense to slow down and not rile them up---no need to kick the fireant bed.

Sure enough, all three of them were pulled over about two miles up the road.

I tried to warn them, but if an unmarked Charger with blacked out windows and multiple LEDs can't slow you down---a trooper will happily oblige "up the road".

Fair warning.

Thanks Fed. I'm flying down Wednesday to drive back with my FIL. I will have to keep that in mind on our way north.

:wave2:

Morning Dads...

Been busy round here... haven't had much time to catch up, let alone post.

Thursday was our 14th anniversary. Yaay us!

I also picked up some tickets for DD's 11'th Birthday to go see Wizard Of Oz.

Happy Anniversary Brian!

‘Morning all…
Only half a day of suffering ahead of me; the afternoon will be spent away from work. DW is celebrating a birthday today so that’s a good thing, but…
It’s one of those that ends in a zero, aaaaaaannnnnnd that’s a bad thing.

A lot of extra spoiling in on the agenda.
Oh, and we officially booked a late June trip back to The World :woohoo:
So that is helping with the birthday blues.
(now I just need to go ahead and add a ticker back into my sig for the first time in a long while)

In the mean time, let’s see if I can catch up a bit
(as opposed to actually working that is)…

Yaay for you. Happy anniversary.
And an early birthday wish for the young’en.

Oh, and on a side note... Skar just killed Mufasa, and blamed Simba. He told Simba to run away and never come back.

I hate it when that happens…

Didn't see the game. DD scored a goal in a 2-2 game. She put on an awesome display of ball skills - juked 2 defenders, and hard shot on the goal. She had anther shot, but hit the pole. We had lots more shots, but they had some great keeper play. The only thing holding her back in soccer is her speed, which is something I don't know how to help her with.

Evening guys,

Good day for DS's basketball team today. They had two wins on the first day of the provincial championship, two more games tomorrow. Win them both and the will take home the banner for Tier 3.

Nice work all around. Congrats to both.

Afternoon gentlemen.

My back is doing much better. I have been off Vicodin since Wednesday. The rest of the week I've just been using Advil.

I'm looking at new cars to replace the rusty trusty Explorer. A new mid range priced Explorer would be over $38K. :scared1:

Glad to hear that the back is improving.
Not so much on the cost of replacing the vehicle.
I certainly can’t do $38K right now. Hope y’all find a better solution.

Good morning. Decided to come in out of the rain and cold to post. Absent for far too long and missing the banter. Now, I'll go eat some bacon. Hope that everyone has a great Sunday.

It has been a while.
We’re glad to hear form you again.
Welcome back sir!

Whoa... given fair warning and they still kept on, eh? Suckers.
Oh... and when did you get your Charger back?? I thought you were still golf carting it :lmao:

Evening guys,

DS's team had a rough day at the provincial championships, dropping both games to finish up with the bronze medal. Pretty proud of DS, he was player of the game in their first game today and ended up being named to the tournament all-star team.

I am both sad for him and happy for him.
They had a good run, but a nod as an all-star ain’t a bad consolation.
Seems to have been a good year all around.

Morning guys. Looks like we got about 7" of snow here on the west side of Indy.

Have you put out a contract on that groundhog yet?

Morning Guys.

2 days in the office this week and then it is back to Florida! :cool1::cool1:

And I was happy to finally have a trip booked in June.
Now that seem a mighty long way off :lmao:

Have fun you.

Good morning Dads. DS birthday today (I now have a teenager in our house and feel old) and he did not want to go to school today. He has MCAS testing today which we affectionately call it the Mass. Child Abuse System.:rotfl2::rotfl2: Testing is basically preparing to take the test in high school and DS felt he should not have to take it on his birthday.

Another March 25th Birthday.
A big ol’ HBD to you boy and good luck on the test.

Welcome to the teen years.
Time start really racing from here on.
It’ll just make your head spin.

No… that seem perfectly on topic for this group.
So basically it’s not Minivan hunting season in Fla.

Good to know :rotfl2:

Anyone else watching the Arnold Palmer Invitational yesterday? There was a nasty storm that tore through Orlando yesterday afternoon... even talks of a twister being spotted. Doesn't look like any of the dads were in the World yesterday... would have been pretty crazy being there during the storm.

Is that the one that I saw on the news this morning where one of the players climbed up in a tree to hit his golf ball out?

Those are one time deals for things like the Carrier Basketball Classic and the Daytona 500. I drove the Charger TO the golf carts:rotfl2:

Oh no...the season is most definitely on.;):lmao:

Happy Birthday to your DW and congratulations to both of you on the trip. Will Max be going?

Yep!
It’s going to be one third of his 18th-Bday/HS-Graduation present.

The second third is that we’re letting him bring along a good friend of his who is also hitting those same milestones (on our dime). The other fell’a is a real good kid, but his family struggles week-to-week so there’s no way they could pull off something like this. Not having siblings, the company will be good for Max to build more memories among his peers rather then just hanging around with mom and dad. They’ll both be 18 by then as well so we could even split up from time to time which will let me actually date my wife again… at Disney… looking forward to that too.

The third part of the present is that we’re going to figure out some way to pay for him go to the music school that he’s wanted to attend since he was a freshman in HS. Since he did go to all the trouble of getting accepted and everything, it just seems like the thing to do.

No issues...DW, the family driver, strictly sticks to the limits when driving in the US.

Besides, FL already is taking money from our pockets as is, (see stupid "International Drivers Licence" scam they got going) :headache:

And congrats on the upcomming trip

Saw a video this morning showing the storm going through somewhere in Orlando...nasty

DWs cousin lives just north or Orlando and they had 3 bigs trees that fell in their yard and one took out a fence. Rough weather.

Morning guys. Looks like we got about 7" of snow here on the west side of Indy. It will be in the 50's for Easter :confused3

Hope everyone has a great Monday. It's a short work week here :cool1:
Only 7''? :lmao::lmao: :lmao::lmao:

Hey guys. Back from CT. Had an absolute blast hanging with Carl & Randall last night, and Chris, Tim, and James in addition today. Chris and his family were wonderful hosts after the race, and we had a blast. Great cause, and a great race. Hope to get together again soon guys.
It was a fun day. Have a safe trip Paul.

Hey was great time. Will be looking to do it again!! Thanks for the motivation you really helped get me through my first race ,i am glad i decided to try and do it. All i can say for the guys that are not on the running band wagon yet, there is still time to hop on.
LOL..... start looking for a 5k near you and run another one!!!!

Oh, so you drive the Charger, park it, walk to a golf cart and drive it around?

I guess the desk work is making you soft. Next thing you know it will be like Wall-E. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I'd say that's a perfect graduation present all the way around. Big thumbs up for helping his friend get a trip that his family probably wouldn't be able to provide. :thumbsup2
