We're heading to NY in March with some friends and we'll have 4 kids (2 boys 2 girls) ranging from 6-11 with us. We'd like to see a show while we are there. We're looking at the Lion King, Spiderman, Cinderella and Blue Man Group. The only thing holding us back from booking the lion king is that it seems to be substantially more expensive than the others. Does anyone have experience with any of these shows?

Heard from close friends that Lion King is spectacular (if we get there before it finishes, we plan to go). We have seen Blue Man group and they are a lot of fun to see, but I would lean toward LK with kids.

The reviews for Spiderman were good, but I have not seen it or know of anyone that has gone. Didn't even know they had a Cinderella show:confused3, but if older boys are involved it may be better for all to go elsewhere.:rotfl2:

Only seen Lion King, it is fantastic, well worth it.

I went into the back yard and do you know what I saw?:eek:

My DS was building an igloo.

I think the penguins brain washed him and he thinks he's Canadian. :rotfl2::rotfl2: NOOooooooooooo!:scared:

Igloos are cool. Canadians are OK too I guess. Did he finish it?

Well, my Canadian friends, I may have spoken too soon about us being up that way. We were thinking of taking a little Spring Break trip up to see Niagara Falls with a Toronto detour later this spring. But I may need to hold onto that cash, because...

Our wait list came through, and we'll be able to stay at Aulani this summer! :woohoo::cool1: Now I just have to pay for it.

I haven't told my wife yet. Her birthday is next month, so I think I'm going to make it a surprise for her then.

You are going to love it. Let me know if you have any questions or want to see pics. Still haven't finished my TR but hope to get back on it soon. If you are interested in renting a cabana, do it as soon as you can. They didn't charge a deposit (at least last summer) and I got shut out trying to reserve one. Luckily one opened up while we were there.

Seen LK and Blue Man and for kids, LK is winner hands down. Check playbill.com for possible ticket discounts. There is also a TKTS booth in Times Square where there are heavily discounted tickets (some 50%). Problem is it is day of the show only and first come first served. No guarantees that any will be on sale or available when you get to the booth.

I just want to say good luck. We're all counting on you.

Nice job! Keep moving up, then you can pay for our (DDC) disney trips!

Good Luck!

Hope it comes through. More money is usually a good thing.
Thanks for the well wishes guys. I should know at the end of the week. As far as I know, I have the same seniority as the others applying. I think one of the tie breakers is last name which I have the lead on.

:confused3:confused3 Is that what they call it when all of the Leafs players and front office people carpool down to a local bar to watch the Stanley Cup Playoffs?:confused3:confused3
:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

How long are the playoffs? Two months? No way they'll stick around town that long

Congrats. Have fun in Hawaii. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
Congrats, but have you really thought this through? You surprised her with Animal Kingdom for Christmas, now Aulani for her birthday. I wonder what she will be expecting for your anniversary. :scratchin

Not yet, but we have plans to continue construction when the rain stops. I was told to keep an eye out for those pesky penguins. DS said they hadn't arrived as of 2PM today.

Rain is the distraction

I'm critically on the fence about Disney on Ice this year. It comes to town every February. and we've gone for the last 3 years now. My kids love it and it's inexpensive.

This year, it is in town 4 weeks before we go to The World. I'm currently worrying (more than I should) that going to Disney on Ice will detract from the Disney experience since my son is Mickey Mouse obsessed and has never seen the real thing before. If he sees him (and all his friends) right in town, it'll be less special when we meet them at THEIR house.

or maybe i'm just over thinking.....HALP!

IMO, you're overthinking it. If it's something your family enjoys and doing so will not make you suffer financially, then I say go see the show. Seeing and meeting Mickey and his friends at their house (or vacation home, as we call it) is still WAY more special than seeing Mickey and company on ice from your seats. DS first met Mickey and some friends at a DVC party here in our neck of the woods, and it did nothing to detract from his first meeting with them in the parks.

Got back from the Keys a bit ago. Nice trip but no diving. Winds were blowing from the east so conditions were bad. No need to shed tears, we had fun.

While I was in the sun I was glad to hear everyone made it through the storm OK. I posted on Facebook this picture of the Pirate Princess Pirate that was taken at the Animal Shelter where she volunteers on Saturdays. They got between 12-18 inches on campus. She had a great time playing in the snow even if her Northern classmates were perplexed with her infatuation with the white stuff.

Rediscovered a new favorite restaurant. Their steamers were great.

Right on the water with lots of charter boats and pelicans

Also went to a restaurant on the Bay side for my UK friend’s pre 60th birthday.

Not a bad sunset

Outside the hotel room. Banana daiquiris to be?

All in all a good time. Wish the diving conditions were better. Warm thoughts everyone.

They probably thought why someone would voluntarily leave FL. Why don't you fly me down for a visit and i'll make you a banana daiquiri. :lmao:

You going as a family trip or just the two of you?

I'm critically on the fence about Disney on Ice this year. It comes to town every February. and we've gone for the last 3 years now. My kids love it and it's inexpensive.!

I"m with James. If you can afford and enjoy it, then go to it. My dds saw princesses on ice and it in no way detracted from their WDW experience.

I put in for an open full time position at work. Hopefully it comes through.

Good luck.

Ok guys - I need your help.....

I've been tasked with coming up with some T-shirt designs for our day trip to MK in 6 weeks.

I know some of you are good with graphics....anyone willing to help a guy out? Any help would be appreciated!

http://www.zazzle.com/

You can use Disney characters. I think they are a little pricey. Good luck.

Ok back from the gift auction, they didn't have any Disney tickets, I did win 1 item, a Birthday party for 8 kids at the Imagine That museum (est. value $229) not bad for a $40 investment, it's a few miles away but my son and his friends will have a Great time:thumbsup2 (That's what it's all about)

Another successful Auction Wars. YUUUP!

Hope you don't get mad, but I'm gonna clog up the thread for a minute with some pictures from the blizzard.

Getting Christopher ready to head outside...

Thanks for the pics. At least you don't have him dressed like Randy. "I can't move my arms."

So are you all dug out now:confused3, when I was a teenager we took full advantage of the snow making a ton of cash shoveling, we would work as a team of 5 and get driveways done in no time, at the end of the day we would have a couple hundred bucks each:thumbsup2, not bad for the 80's but people will pay if you do a good job and can dig them out quick so they can go to work or at least try:rotfl2: You just don't see it too much anymore teenagers willing to do a little work to make some money, but then again today's teenagers at least around here sleep way too much:confused3

I made cash as a teen cutting grass. Now, I guess the lawnscaping business take all that money. Or, are teens just lazy?

I mentioned that after this table I was going to search for a seat for my wife and I, she quickly said they had 2 seats no one was using at their table so we went and dropped off our coats:thumbsup2, what a great table it was they had a ton of food that they insisted we help ourselves too:banana:,

Free food is always a great win.

Top of the morning guys :surfweb:

How do the Hoosiers end up #1 after losing?

Crud... Have a co-worker who apparently must do something to get sick every weekend, or he's allergic to Monday's or something. Oh well, at least he'll be out of sick days by March if he keeps it up. :sad2: Gonna be a long day...

You're just jealous because he thought of it first.

Seen both loin king and blue man group in nyc and I would go again to either in a heartbeat. If you can swing the extra $, Lion king is hands down the best production I've ever seen and is visually stunning.... and I saw it before I was a Disney nut.

We saw Lion King off Broadway last year and while it was still great, the NYC show was phenomenal due to the scope of the animals they use.

Only seen Lion King, it is fantastic, well worth it.

I agree with the Lion King suggestions! Amazing show!

THIS is the reason. :lmao:

Yea Mark. It was unbelievable. 2 storms a week for like a month straight.

That winter almost made me move out of NE. It was horrible.
