Leaving tomorrow and work has me running around like a head with my chicken cut off. Don't they know I'm not supposed to do any work on the 3 days leading up to a Disney Vacation? Sheesh..

That insightful quote is attributed to Karl, Richard, or Groucho Marx- it doesn't really matter which one. The point is that a long time ago, a young man had a dream of owning a DVC contract and took to the interwebs to do research. That research took him to the disboards where he perchance stumbled upon an online group of some 350 or so guys who shared a love of family, Disney and fart jokes. After watching from the sidelines for a few weeks, that young man decided to get in the game and join this club.

Timing it just right to get the coveted membership #400, our hero cautiously observed his new surroundings and learned the habits of his new neighbors. Some liked beer, some could quote movies as well as he could, but all liked bacon. Over time- and life's ups and downs, our hero came to learn what hundreds before and after him would also learn: That between the trip reports, fantasy leagues and comparing different bourbons, there was a real community here that is not often found online or in person. And despite the fact that of all the regulars in the club our hero was surely the slowest to get to post #1000, he values this group and looks forward to wasting his company's money on many, many more hours of reading and posting.

To the next thousand posts (Coming March 2018)!! I'll see some of you in a few days, and I'll see the rest of you at the DDC 2014!

Good Morning Dads! Just getting back to my normal process of going back 8 or so pages to review what I missed. In the meantime, to all the Dads heading out to the DDC today, travel safe.

Packing has started. Snacks, drinks and spirits purchased. As long as those and the electronics make it to the car, all is well. Guess I am going to have to do some laundry the next couple of days.

Just like my kid. They are smarter than us. The only important team (Florida) went 11-2. I'll take that.

Thanks and sorry to hear you won't be there. I'll make sure I toss one back in your honor. Enjoy the pats game this weekend. I am going to miss it because I will probably be in either EPCOT or the MK.

I think I'd rather be in EPCOT or MK with you. We'll be planning a trip shortly, most likely in August. Maybe then or if we have a 2014 DDC, I am there! Have fun.

I think it's going to be a Pats/Ravens AFC Championship with the game in Foxboro. Manning does not have a good history in divisional games and I think the Ravens D will hold up.
