This is the first Christmas Eve in a long time that it is just us. DW and DS are watching Christmas Vacation while I try to sneakily print some pictures for a Christmas gift.

Question: Le Cellier recipe for Cheddar Cheese Soup calls for 1/4 pound of bacon. Seems to me it needs more bacon. What do you think?

Good evening and and a very Merry Christmas to everyone.


Work was busy, and with the lack of sleep, made the early-going rough. As it got really crazy, the adrenaline kicked in and it went by pretty fast. DW and the girls picked me up, and I had the honour of being the first staff member to leave the store for the day too, it felt good. (Especially as there was a surge of customers at that point. Only other guy leaving early (half hour after me) had a newborn. The boss wanted the staff with young kids out early for their Christmas, so it goes to show some people still have heart. We had dinner at Boston Pizza, went home for me to shower and change, and after a quick service, we are here at my parents now. We were still the first to arrive. One other guest showed up, and just now some others have artrived, so back I go.

Also enjoying some Christmas beers right now. Finished off a Shepherds Neame Christmas Ale, about to break the wax seal off a bottle of Nickelbrook Cuvee 2012, a special beer just released.

Getting a wee bit chaotic here. Parents have a rather snall house, and four hyped-up kids, one with severe austism running about., playing hide and seek. Gone into the strong beer now....it's helping.

Merry Christmas guys. Just got back from a family Party, waiting for DD to fall asleep, then we'll wait for Santa...

A bit of a hectic day, but a good one. I'm blessed to have two of the most amazing children a guy could ever ask for, as well as a wife who for some reason settled WAY below her level... Thankful for a lot tonight.

While I'm waiting I also have a nice 18 yr old Glenfiddich to keep me company, thanks to Secret Santa Aaron... Think I've earned a sip, or 12...

Home now, kids are in bed, first having put out the cookies and milk and carrots. . Currently looking a a tree piled high with gifts, and santa hasn't been by yet. Have almost completely shook off the buzz from those beers.
