Morning all
Its small town parade day down here and Im actually looking forward to the silliness.
[ShamlessPlug]
If youd like to see just how small town or small town can actually be you can just check out the last chapter of my now finally completed TR (Id advise against though).
Its in that first TR link down in my sig
[/ShamlessPlug]
Now then Whats up with yall?
It appears that I inadvertently started a minor boarder skirmish here
To your point
True but those were more examples of poor leadership and hasty preparation. One of the main reasons England settled the dispute was that their generals stated flatly that if the US took time to assemble a full army in the area and mount an effective drive, theyd likely take the northern territories. As hasty actions to try and move the focus away from the Mid-Atlantic and force a treaty, those losses were tactically useful.
And you foolishly didnt keep either prize.
You should feel bad about Celine.
And no those other ladies (lovely as they are), dont make up for that one.

Nice and quick too.
Thanks.
Its diction (not accent) that actually marks the language of the South.
So Ill type it the way Id ev said it (...just seems proper).
That foolish accent that shows up in most Hollywood films is more a stereotype.
Funny and sadly true; most dont know what it means.
But you and I know that 49 was a compromise. No one got what they wanted.
Canada didnt get to clam Washington, Oregon or Northern California, and the US didnt get to clam Winnipeg.
Win some... loose some...
It would appear so

He dont know us very well, do he?
Good to hear form you Randy, you've been missed.
Welcome home, and we hope to hear more in the near!

I think cooler heads prevailed and kept your politicians from making same mistake years later. The lessons learned from the surrender of Detroit, Buffalo and Fort Dearborn showed you can't mess with Canada.
You're welcome.

No that would be when we sent you Celine Dion.
But we felt sorry for that so we sent

Mostly one shot zingers, I'm the "joker" of the store, quick to have something to say about anyone or anything. Love short jokes etc. Others are slams that I am careful not to use in front of the actual person, or else.
My favorite two : Co-worker looking for our lazy, rotund Product Consultant:
"Is Alison around?"
Me: "Very round"
The best quick one involved a co-worker who gets very wound up, only has one eye. He had been freaking good, and a co-worker turned to ne and commented he thought he was going to "go postal" on us, when storms in with a gun, what'll we do? Without losing a beat, I shrug, and say "Stand to his left".
I can get nasty too....![]()

Nice and quick too.

I love it personally.![]()

I remember an old Mad Magazine thing about this quote "Most Americans didn't want the second option, and couldn't understand the first."![]()

But we all agree about Quebec, right?
Ugh, don't get me started

Back from a week away from the boards, hope all have behaved.

Morning all! Haven't been able to check in as much as I'd have liked to lately. Work has been insane but I'm finally getting things running smoother so hopefully soon that will free up some tome to take a daily Dis break.
On tap today, clean out the garage! Or at least enough of it to get to the Christmas decorations in the rafters. I know there is a ladder in there somewhere?
