I'm sorry, I just can't think of Cam Cameron without thinking about his most successful season at Indiana being a sub 500 season with Antwaan Randle-El at QB. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

That and then he was OC in San Diego and by the time he was done working with Brees they were calling for Phillip Rivers to take over. That seemed to work out well. :rolleyes1

The man may come up with some good systems, but he just finds ways to take his biggest weapons out of the game for some unkown reason... ie, Ray Rice.

You had to bring that up :headache:

Congrats on the shutout win!:cool1: We saw a girls on the other team last week get a ball in the stomach and face back to back. Kept going without even acknowledgment. Tough kid. Hope your daughter is OK. :goodvibes

She's fine. It scared her more than anything.

My DS got his in 6th grade. No smartphone, just calls and text so we can keep in touch. The main reason was he started sleep overs, going on trips with friends, after school events. It was more to make sure he could get in touch with us or vice versa if needed. He barely uses it because it has no internet, games, etc.... I know most of his friends have smartphones and he would like one, but I feel it is unnecessary. Way to be the uncool dad is the quote I hear a lot.:confused3:mad:

Good luck n this one.:rolleyes1 Always a tough subject.

She doesn't go very far without us. She is starting the school trip thing, which I can definitely see, however, from the trip DW chaperoned, the school rules were no talking on phone during trip. Which makes sense, as school bus is loud enough already without 70 other phone conversations. So, most were just playing with it as a toy.

I bought Juliana an iPod for Christmas last year.. she was 5. But she always wanted our phone to play games on. She doesn't know the password so she can't DL any apps including free ones without entering it.

That being said... I can't see me buying her a phone for a while. If you do end up buying your DD the phone, which sounds like you have no choice, make sure the internet and text messaging is shut off. I wouldn't let it be in her possession all the time... just when she was going to be away from home. :

I bought mine the Kindle Fire, because i was hoping she would read more on it, but alas, she just plays Disney shows. I check history to see what she is watching. It has WiFi but no 3G, and it doesn't leave house unless she is in car with me to WDW or somewhere similar.

:headache: It doesn't hurt as bad if you keep your expectations low.

Hey! Those were our wedding vows!

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

No, but this one hasn't been put back up yet.

The first Marlins' World Championship (not the second one when they beat the Yankees).
Nice! I enjoyed their 2nd WS win a bit more though... ;)

Oh! Went to the game, but it was not a whole lot of fun. When are we going to just beat a team that we should beat?:sad2: The Jets outplayed us most of the game. I'm starting to think I can get open on our Dbacks and I'm still rehabbing from major knee surgery. :rolleyes1 Lucky for us Sanchez stinks and the Jets receivers can't make plays consistently.

Time to stop forcing the ball to Loyd, stock flea flickers and trick plays and just play football. I hope the Pats start playing better, but this is 3 weeks in a row we gave up a 10 point lead int he 4th quarter. Really frustrating!:headache:

I agree. It was an ugly game. Not looking like the D has improved, at all...

You mean this picture?

Hey Norm, if y'all get a chance to come down for the zoo we have a membership and can get a total of 4 people in for free so would only need to pay for 2 kids admissions, I know y'all have a hectic schedule just FYI in case y'all get some spare time one weekend

I'll keep it in mind. We have zoo membership thru Evansville, and some do reciprocating agreements. Louisville zoo is free for us. I'll check Nashville.

:thumbsup2

Due to AAU and Club teams moving into the area in the last 5 years or so, we had to make a decision to either field highly competitive teams or lose the player from our town program. It is a little more intense, but the commitment level is manageable. We practice twice per week and play one game on the weekends. The remaining players are put on balanced teams and play balanced teams from other towns. We are set up in districts here so the traveling is still not bad. Our longest travel this season is about 25 minutes. I agree that sports is getting too intense in general. Both my kids play at least 4 sports each and we don't stress on them being the best. They go out, have fun and get exercise. If they make a top team so be it, if not-no worries. It really is about building good exercise habits, keeping active and out of trouble.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Oh, it is a constant struggle for me not to push them too hard. I am super competitive, and there is not really an in between. So, I have to be completely relaxed, because once I get into it, I can't stop. Our league does 2 games a week, but i only do one practice, in which time i spend most of it on individual ball skills. So, i have calmed way down, but the moment she is ready to work harder at it, I'll be ready too. Oldest now does mostly dance, so i really can't help there.

Are you sure that isn't my wife? :lmao:

Actually, since moving to the heart of Appalachia, my wife is spending far less than she did because A) there are very few places to spend money and B) she finally is seeing what it means to be poor rather than just think she is.

Nope, it was mine, and she read the posts here today about the cell phone. I got an email about it. I wonder how much flack I'll get when i return home. Fortunately, the money allocated to 401Ks continues to go there, so in 21 more years of investing and compound interest, they will hopefully see us thru retirement. However, we can't save anything else, which is partly due to my Disney vacation problem.

Do like Jacob when returning to see Esau and send presents ahead.

Of all the money-sapping problems there are, that's not a bad one to have. ;)

Too late. She already emailed me. I am supposed to correct myself. DW does not want dd to have one because all her friends do, it is for the times I am out of town and DW has difficulty chauffeuring her to all her activities. I found out today that while these activities are indoors, have electricity and plumbing, and are about 3 miles from our house, most do not have working telecommunication devices. There was no explanation or justification for her espionage.

Very impressive win this weekend. I really enjoyed watching that game and the K-State game Saturday.

Both good wins. Have to love college football. Big game for Florida this weekend. Intense hatred for Georgia.

The Purdue game... not so much. I'm glad that I was busy working early Saturday afternoon and didn't get to see much of it. If that coaching staff is still employed next year, I will not be buying any tickets. With the talent they have, there is no excuse for the crappy football they've been playing. The whole "playing not to lose" at the end was driving me nuts, and of course, bit them in the @$$. And for crying out loud, can we learn how to kick a frickin' extra point!?!?!?!?:headache:

Was rooting for the Boilers. Could have/should have game.

So she knows the rules then. I miss you, but if you call while the Gators are playing, I won't answer. :rolleyes1

Yep. But I made the call. Game starts back up and had to tell her I had to go.

Toto, I don't think we're in Florida anymore.

Very funny. Can't wait until she experiences the Frozen Tundra.

Actually, their best bet will be to fire Cam Cameron. Can somebody point out to me where he's actually had success in his career??? :confused3

He was Head Football Coach for the Dolphins. Oh wait, not a good argument.

Nice! I enjoyed their 2nd WS win a bit more though... ;)

Enjoyed both. Was at every playoff game including winning it all for the first one. Took DD for one WS game and my dad for another. He looked at me and said he never thought he would attend a WS game again and thanked me for taking him. Least I could do dad. Great times.

For the 2nd WS win I was living in NYC. A lot of people were having fun at my expense but I got in the last laugh.

Awesome stuff. I had tickets for game 7 of the 2004 WS. While I was thrilled to see the Red Sox win it in 4, part of me (selfishly) wishes it went to 7 games so I could have seen a game 7 in Boston. Then I think back to all the heartbreaking losses pre-2004 and I realize I'm just lucky we won! :lmao:

I worry too about coaching my kids when I am volunteered to coach their teams in the coming years.

There is no justification of this kind of subterfuge by the spousal unit. I do get her point of needing a phone for emergencies. Someone threw out the idea of a prepaid phone. That would be my preference with a very limited set of numbers they could call. I'm pro texting because they can send and receive quick messages.

Cool story.
Send her to Minnesota in mid January. She'll never complain about the Florida heat again.

Whew, you guys were chatty this weekend. Well wishes, congrats and the like to whoever may need them.

It's a nice rainy, gloomy Monday out there. At least the Bears are on tonight! I only need Brandon Marshall to go for about 16 catches, 200 yards and 3 TD's tonight to win in my $ league.

Man, these holidays are coming up on us quickly. I bet these next couple of months fly by.

Well of course that makes perfect sense and you are just being completely irrational, illogical, stubborn, pig-headed and foolish and KY*Figment is a saint for putting up with you.

Middle school soccer is now over, DS's team lost 3-1 in their game.

Now we can have a bit of supper and head to basketball practice; the fun never ends.
