Brian's the name... Thanks for the warm welcome, y'all.

I've lived in Charlotte, NC for the past 6 years now but I grew up in South FL so we went to Disney a LOT when I was growing up. I always loved it, but my fanaticism didn't start until a couple years ago when we took our children for the first time. (I got three of 'em - DD7, DS4, DS1) Thanks to the internet, I found the DIS prior to our trip in 2010 and have been addicted since then. Just about a month ago, we closed on our first DVC purchase (OKW is our home) and we're really excited!
At this point, our next trip isn't planned until Nov 2013 because I'd really like to wait until our youngest is around 2.5 before we hit the road again (plus our new DVC points don't kick in until Aug 2013). We may try to borrow some points and hit up HHI in April if we can snag a room. Regardless, it's going to be a long 13 months of trolling the Internet for my Disney fix, but there is no shortage of great sites out there.

I'm a complete fanatic and it's so nice to be able to come to a place like this and share our crazy addition with others who "get it." :grouphug:

What if you put bacon in your peanut butter, would that make it ok? :goodvibes

Welcome Brian!

Looks like the name Brian is becoming like Chris around here. :lmao:

And I'll try not to hold it against you as my Nemesis's name is Brian as well. Hope you're a nicer Brian than he is!

Sounds like you'll fit in here quite well.

And don't worry - we tend to live vicariously through others that are taking trips to get our "disney fix".

You can also get with our group on facebook HERE if you're so inclined.

We also have another home on the web HERE

So make yourself and home and join in on the banter!

Welcome!

Morning....

Whole Thanksgiving weekend went all to Beverly. Plans were to go to Sarnia and DW's family.

DW got home from Band practice to find a notice that after 10 months, the landlords have decided to do something about the ant issue the building's had. Immediately after Thanksgiving, they are comming on to deal, and gave the list of prep work. There is no way in hell we could get it all ready in time, so we have to cancel and spend the weekend getting things ready. :furious::headache::crazy2: Instead of R&R with family, it's work and packing things up . Gave up my OT this morning to get started too, so it's costing us. Really got to look about getting a bigger place. We've outgrown this apartment, and gotta start getting rid of stuff. No room anymore. Four of us in a small two bedroom apt.

DW is devastated to say the least... she had some great plans this weekend, and it was the end of August since she last saw her family, now could be end of November before we can get back there. I took the brunt of it last night, and she apologized this morning

Not much to do now but get it all done. Thanks for letting me vent.

Is Thanksgiving in Canada this weekend?

I was sitting here trying to figure out the problem. When I first read it, I started thinking, there are 6 weekends between now and Thanksgiving, how much could there possibly be to do to have to cancel all your plans. :confused3 :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

It really sucks though that they can't give you enough notice to deal with something that has been a problem for so long. :rolleyes2:furious:

Brian's the name... Thanks for the warm welcome, y'all.
Wow, we're starting to get almost as many Brians as we have Christophers around here. :rotfl2:

What if you put bacon in your peanut butter, would that make it ok? :goodvibes
Sure. I'm just not convinced that it wouldn't taste like Beverly though. :confused3 :rotfl:

Welcome Brian, I'm one of the newer members as well, everyone's really cool and nice as long as your not Canadian, I sure hope you are not, I've seen what they do to Canucks on here and it isn't pretty!

Fellow dads I'm happy to report on my last work day before the trip, I am pretty much loafing and driving around, not both at the same time though :)

Wow... I'm WAY late to the DisDads club. How do I become a member?

:welcome: to the DISDad's...

What's your name so we know who to harass?? :rotfl2:

Just so you know Scott's made an art out of harrasing... especially if your name is Brian.

Brian's the name... Thanks for the warm welcome, y'all.

D'oh!

And I'll try not to hold it against you as my Nemesis's name is Brian as well. Hope you're a nicer Brian than he is!

Yeah, but can he cook a Le Cellier Filet with Mushroom Risotto? :rotfl2:

HAPPY Belated Birthday CJ and STOPHER...

Sorry wasn't on yesterday...

Scott mailed me his cold... So I've been under the weather.

Welcome sir! Grab a beer out of the fridge and pull up a lawn chair.
All Disney obsessed dads are welcome here.

Charlotte ‘eh. I live just a smidgen south of you on the other side of that invisible barrier where the local media seems to believe that I-77 drops of the face of the earth. Are you born and raised, or is the “Queen City” just the most current home?

I-77 doesn't drop off the face of the earth, it eventually takes you to WDW (via 26, 95, and 4). :thumbsup2

Born and raised in Ft Laud, FL - moved up here back in 2006!

Thankfully, I'm in the clear on that...

I did get caught up though... (Oh, good luck with getting Caught up yourself New Brian - it took me almost 2 years too).

Not gonna go back and quote everything I missed...

- Nick - I just may take you up on that slice of poumpkin pie one day... ;)
- Brent - Dude... that sucks about your weekend. As the girls get older a two bedroom apartment just ain't gonna cut it.
- Sean - Trip reports are way to overrated... :rolleyes1
- Norm - Nice ADR's
- Haunted Mansion House - why don't we all pool our money together and start our own DISDad time share... Scott - start working on the down payment.

Oh, and to top it all off... My refirgerator broke the other day... had to buy a new one.

Looks like I'm skipping my first week at the New DISDad's haunted mansion.

Yes… yes it does (and that’s a mightily fine thing). :goodvibes

I’m not officially form the area either, but I’ve been here just a little bit longer.
Say… about thirty years longer (still get treated like an outsider though :lmao: )

Welcome again, we’re glad to have you here.

Afternoon Gents, Happy Friday!!

Welcome Brian, Dole Whips are another important item around these parts.

Nope... hardly slept last night... went to bed early as well...

As long as you are good for turkey day.

Hope you are feeling better, I was there a couple of weeks ago and I'm still trying to get rid of it. On a happier note, I know longer feel like it is going to kill me.

Welcome Brian, Dole Whips are another important item around these parts.

On that note... We introduced our son to his first Dole Whip at the ripe old age of 11months. Gotta start 'em out right...
