Good Morning!!

at some point I'll go back and peruse the last few days of posts to see what's been going on.

Today is DD's first day of school!!

I'm sure i'm not the only dad here with an educational milestone this year, so congrats to all you guys and your kids. I hope they all have a successful and memorable school year!!


I also want to share that I've been sucked back into my family tree research after a long hiatus, and I've got the fever again!! A lot of new records available.

Yesterday, I discovered a cousin we never knew about!!

Today is DD's first day of school!!

Adorable young lady there…

We were able to get a picture on the first day of school every year.
We took the senior picture just a couple weeks back.
When you lay them out, you can see how over time they change from excitement, to indifference,
to contempt, to embarrassment, to gradual knowing acceptance.

I’ll be saving those for my grandkids.

Sent my 7th grader to middle school for the first time today. Pouring rain from Isaac left overs. Asked, "don't you want a jacket or umbrella?". Was told that umbrellas are NOT cool and that it was too warm for a jacket. How about a swimsuit? Kids!

Sounds just like my youn’en.
His momma has been trying to get a coat on the boy in the high winter
since he started school twelve years back and still hasn’t figured out
how to accomplish the task.

So my oldest DD has gone to Kindergarten for 3 days.

She tells me this morning....

Her: "I was walking down the hall and this boy asked if I wanted to be his "best friend"".

ME: "OK, so what did you say?"

Her: "I told him, OK."

ME: "So what is this boy's name?"

I'm half tempted to talk trash since the Bears play the Colts...

not that I think the Colts will win, but if they lose they lose and it is just expected but if they win the Bears just suck.

This is a game that I would put a large chunk of M&M's on the Bears to win straight up if I were the type to do that sort of thing. Then again, it is the NFL and stranger things have happened. They are playing with amateur refs.

We were just talking about the football game tonight. Someone asked what channel it is on and I said NBC. Someone else starts spouting profanities and says he's calling Dish Network... I'm sitting here wondering what's going on.

Apparently Dish and our local NBC affiliate have been in negotiations and we haven't had NBC on Dish since this weekend... so it ain't looking like I'll be watching football tonight.

And ever since the switch to digital TV, I haven't been able to get our local NBC station through my outdoor aerial antenna either.

This calls for an emergency plan of action which I would normally solve by heading to the nearest adult beverage social establishment.

ANDY- Free free to come and watch the game tonight at my house. I have direct TV and you can take care of my kids while I am at the game!

The kids are in bed at 8 & 8:15... perfect timing! The fridge is stocked so help yourself.



Did I mention the tickets were free, I don't have to drive, and I'm in a suite?

You pretty much summed it up right there. When I set my elimination pick for the DDC MFL league, I had a hard time finding a game that I really felt good about. I'll probably be eliminated week 1.
