I was moving though my cinema catalog chronologically and only got up to the mid 70s when I had to head back to the office after lunch.
That was pointless… but fun.

Living on the east coast has made this typhoon we are, I believe, still in the middle of fairly tame in our city. I didn't see any damage anywhere on my way to work this morning. Still raining quite a bit, and fairly strong winds...but my umbrella didn't break, so they aren't that strong. Looks like I may continue raining for most of the day. The west coast got hit quite a bit harder, but no casualties yet, so that's good. Lots of school closings on that side of the country.

I've never felt guilty about taking kids out of school! But since DS hit 6th grade, they actually miss stuff when they're out...
That’s the hard truth. When their young… go on and pull ‘em out for travel (that’s a type of learning anyway). But once they get into the higher grades, then it get a bit harder to justify. When they get into High School (especially if they in any type of Honors or AP classes), then it’s almost foolish.
But while their younger… party like there’s no tomorrow.

But it is an oddly true bit of wisdom.

It would just be horrendous to take an October trip and turn around and go back in November.

I don’t know. I may have to change the meaning of “Top 30” to mean “everyone up to and including member #30”. I can’t see letting one of our emeritus (and still active) members not be on that list. Just wouldn’t be very DisDad like of me.

Morning Gents
Taking a couple of days off to hang out with Declan before he heads back to school next week. He starts middle school next Wednesday. DW went back yesterday with all the other teachers.
Today we are going to take in our sports hall of fame and a hands-on science center. Tomorrow we are going to the place called Tree-Go which is a rope course high up in the trees. Should be fun.
Does sound like fun will be had…
