Has anyone ever had a chance to play at magnolia course at Disney world? It is like five minutes from poly!

I have golf all Disney courses (several times) except the little nine hole. Oh And its right across the street from Poly.

Carl and I are golfing there on August 25. :cool1: I've done the Palm, which is right next door to the Magnolia course.

Yes we are !!

Yeah the Palm is nice. But I believe i like the Magnolia more just my pref.

Magnolia is a bit better. But cant go wrong with either.Although the Magnolia has one hole that just eats me up!!!Oh and yes more then the rest do :lmao:

At work right now maybe David can repost the directions from his PM. Way too busy here today other than to type on my phone or iPad.

I probably missed this somewhere along the way, but what is your job as a CM, if you dont mind me asking?

I always wear shorts to meetings. It is a Florida thing.

Thanks guys. BREAKING NEWS: Stomach contents successfully expelled. Film at eleven. Actually feel better now.

I would be there but i think I will take a nap instead.

The problem is the Pirate Princess missed the freshman orientation because we were in Hawaii. Now she gets the dregs of classes left. Sucks for her. Me, I am chuckling. "Oh, you have an 8 am class on Monday morning. Bless your heart."
8 am classes. In college they're the worst. Of course post college if an 8 am meeting is the worst thing you've got going on things are going pretty well.

Yeah the Palm is nice. But I believe i like the Magnolia more just my pref.

Macbook Pro, Well I am getting rid of one of my PC laptops and will be replacing it with a Pro. But I started my computer interest with Mac, but then faded out until now, been 20 years since I owned an apple.

I am trying to get back into a macbook pro, but I had considered getting one used but don't know somethings to be aware of when getting one of those used from a person. I know I want one with the black keys and black trim around the display. I will be using it for Photography and Graphics. Also for dual platform to run windows also. Suggestions? I cant be comfortable on anything less than a 15" screen. Will I miss a 17" one if I settle for a 15"? I found one near me for $1100 for a 2011 year, 17" one with airport wireless access point, second keyboard and wireless remote also. Good Deal?

So my wife is a photographer and just made the swap from PC to Mac. She went from a 17 inch gateway that I had really customized for her. She's been frustrated because even with a quad core MBP with 8gb of ram the MBP seems slower than the PC. I think that's likely because her PC laptop had dual hybrid SSD hard drives and so accessing big images was really fast. She's got a single platter style hard drive in the MBP and it seems to be a performance bottleneck. I'll probably move to a hybrid drive in the Mac but there were issues with those drives and Lion so I've been slow to upgrade the Mac. Pricewise $1100 could be a good deal. Checking apples refurbed site the cheapest 17" comes in closer to $1900 http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/mac/macbook_pro/17
I think you'll like the airport too, but if you already have a wireless access point I wouldn't use it as part of my decision making process. My wife doesn't miss the 17" that much and the additional portability is nice. Do you have a monitor you can hook it too if you are going to work on it from home?
What does this long rambling tyraid mean?

1. The Macbook Pro is nice (my wife likes hers but I think she had heard so many raving reviews before she got it that her expectations were too high.)
2. It' a judgement call for you but 15 seems to be an okay screen size. I keep wanting smaller and smaller laptops. My personal computer is an 11" air now.
3. If you are editing images make sure you look at the hard drive specs. Its something you can upgrade, but you'll need to leave room in your budget for that. A 5400 rpm drive will bog everything else down.

Operations and Guest Relations I don handle check in, but handle things if someone at check in fails to do their job or feels they cant make a decision with how to handle something. I get quite a workout!

Not for me. I converted the ones for theduck last night no problem.

Converting anything to a ring tone on the Iphones are a nightmare of converting, converting, and converting. If you can find an easier way, please let me know. I tried to do that on my Iphone 4s and finally gave it up. I figured it was probably easier to get a house financed.

there are a couple free tools you can download to do this. I pulled one down out of the mac app store to do it, but I don't have it on my new laptop.

I think your right. Id also have to look at the weight between the 15 and 17 MBP. I have seen some successfully convert their HD to a SSD running lion so I am like you might just wait to make sure about upgrading that. Yeah I will be working with them in RAW and programs like Lightroom 4.1 and Photoshop CS6. So I will need to make sure it can work fluidly with images. I may just look into a 15 though. But is there anything to look for in a used one? other than battery discharge rate, etc...?

Thanks for this help!

Ryan had good advice. I have a 17" with the black keys. I swapped out the standard Hard Drive for an SSD and performance is noticeably better. It's a bit on the heavy side, but I don't think it's too bad. I have a backpack that I carry it around in to spread the weight. $1100 sounds like a good deal. Have you seen the machine? Is it in good physical condition?

RAM. You're gonna want at least 8gb for photoshop. You can upgrade after the fact by buying from sites like Crucial. I think the cost is substantially less through them than it is if you buy through apple. If you are getting it through craigslist or something like that I am not sure how much of a price impact the ram has. When we bought my wife's I looked at the performance benchmarks of the different quad-core MBPros and there was a substantial difference between the 2.2 and 2.5 i7 .

I'm too old and decrepit to carry around anything as big as a 17" laptop.

Do you use your optical drive. I remember the betamouse guys saying they were swapping out their optical drives more their old hard drive into that slot and then putting in an SSD as their OS and application hdd. Seems like fun but DW uses her optical so I probably couldn't get away with it.''

+1 on the memory. Max it out as much as you can afford.

I guess I'm still a strapping young lad. My wife has looked at the width of my shoulders and wondered how my mom could even walk after giving birth to me.

That's a pretty interesting idea. Unfortunately, yes, I do use my optical drive.:sad1:

Good morning Dads! Wasting a bit of time and catching up here this morning. I am officially on Vacation! Hit the road tomorrow for more sand and surf.

Oh, and remember, next Friday is Hawaiian shirt day. So, y'know, if you want to, go ahead and uh, wear a Hawaiian shirt and jeans.

Every Friday is Hawaiian shirt and jeans day for me. :thumbsup2

Wishing a great day to all!

What are the specs? What type of screen? MBP come with airport installed so if you already have a wireless router you won't need the extra airport. I've had a 15'' MBP core 2 duo for 5 years and it is funny this talk has just come up because one I get my kid to bed I'm ordering a new MBP. I'd say, as someone else mentioned, to goto crucial.com and order the max RAM you can put in the machine. I'm upping my new MBP to 16g. I DJ with video and I need all the speed I can get.

I'd love a SSD but the price point is not practicable for me. I need over a TB of HD space and have you ever priced a 1-2TB SSD drive? :scared:
