I'm sure it is more than $1 million per mile at todays prices.

Just look at it this way... if it costs 15 or 20 million to build the 15 - 20 miles of track, I could see them doing it. That is relatively inexpensive compared to other potential projects. I've got to think the infrastructure involved in adding to the monorail track and bringing it to entirely new areas of the resort would easily cost somewhere over 100 mill when it is all said and done.:confused3

That didn't seem right when I typed it, but didn't bother to try to figure out where or when I'd heard that number. Maybe was a billion per mile? Either way, a $20 million investment would be a no brainer. $500 million to a $1 billion wouldn't.

Sitting here listening to D-Cot and this unfamiliar tune comes on... Magic Journeys?? I looked this up and now I know why it's not familiar. It was closed before my very first visit to WDW. Anyone here remember this 3D attraction? Was it any good?

:thumbsup2 was it any good? it depends. if you are a "rip it all down and build rollercoasters" disney fan, you would of not liked it. :thumbsup2 i wouldnt put it up there with horizons or what it now test track but we would hit it on our trips.

Hi Dave :wave2:

I don't remember this... at all. but I had a long Disney Drought from the early mid-80s to the late mid-90s. I remember the Lion King show at the Philharmagic location back in the 90s. Where was Magic journeys?

why not, my state taxes paid for one and not to mention the massive cover up. "but they did everything they could" but dont worry, all the law suits and legal stuff coming up wont cost the students or the tax payer a dime. :thumbsup2

First off…
Thanks to all of ya’ for the kind words.

I ain’t in the running for parent of the year at this point, but it is reassuring to see that my main goal (that of raising a child that would not turn out to be an idiot), seems to be on course.

For the moment… we haven’t cross the finish line just yet.

I just hope mine don't turn out as weird as me.

This is one spot where I’ve messed up. He’s a good kid, but…

He’s already just as weird as I am.

Well said Rob. Enjoy this upcoming year, it is a fun ride. And you deserve it with all the triumphs and bumps in the road you had in raising your son.

This year looks like it will be almost nightmarishly complicated. I’m still trying to figure out how to pay for the collage education I want him to have much less go through the process of getting him accepted. That and an already very full senior year calendar (which gets started Monday) have got me going in circles the better part of nearly every day already.

:scared:

One of the reasons I did the graduation trip was to enjoy time alone with my daughter. Spent a lot of time reflecting on being the father of this wonderful kid.

This was one of those moments at DCA

I remembered all the times she rode the carousel at the World including the first time when she was 18 months old and her mother was holding on to her. She was at a sleep over at a girlfriend's house last night and in light of events this morning, she will get an extra long hug when she gets home. Of course her reaction will be, "Daaaad."

Nice image and a perfect context for it.
Ya’ done good.

Not related to Bacon but I want this!!!

That was almost certainly invented in a collage dorm room.

Holy Beverly… What am I saying!
I’m contemplating sending my young’en off into that world…

Aren't those fun times? I almost feel sorry for all you guys with younger kids.

Almost…
But surviving it is a badge of honor.

Those badges don’t come easily (or cheep).

Second is when she becomes a teenager, have your favorite adult beverage within an arms length from you.

I may have to play a couple of rounds of Battle Shots every evening after work for te next five years.

:drinking1

On a side note… the thing that most floored me as my son and I were talking yesterday was his pronouncement that he probably wouldn’t bring his x-Box with him if he moves into a dorm. He said that there would already be so many distractions that it would be hard enough to study in the first place.

:faint:

I’ll believe it when I see it, but I have to tell you I dang near fell over sideways when he suggested it.

no, they were A.As. all the characters, they would pop up out of the stage. i believe the show is still running in japan. the last i looked, they have a clip on you tube.

Going through our trip next month and we've decided to add a baseball game to the calendar on Saturday Aug 18th. The Lakeland Flying Tigers' stadium is only about a mile from DW's parents place. And they happen to be home that night. And it happens to be Star Wars night at the ballpark.
