Yup, I'm fine now. I'm a Type 1 diabetic and got some bad telemetry from my continuous glucose monitor, so it looked like I was about 40 points higher than I actually was. Oh, and it was telling me I was at 55, so I was actually down below 20 or so. Normal is between 80 and 120. So not quite enough fuel to keep the engines running. Then, after they got my blood sugar back up, they were still more concerned about me than they felt they could deal with on the ship, so they called for a ride.

:( Wow - Glad you're ok.

Not everyone can say they've flown on a Coast Guard Helicopter before! :thumbsup2

I'm going to need a little more detail on one part of your list.
How was the drive? What roads did you take? Was traffic bad?

The drive wasn't too bad. It was just I95 to I4, and once we got out of Virginia the traffic wasn't bad at all.

I'll have you know that I didn't feign one bit of interest in meeting your wife and kids.

Who are you and what have you done with Steve's green font?

It was really cool. Most of the time when we go through Wisconsin Dells (or "the Dells" to us locals) we have the dogs with us, so dinner is usually a drive through. This time we left the pups home so we stopped for an actual meal. The place is called Buffalo Phil's and is themed around the old west. Certain tables have train tracks that run right by them and your drinks and food are put on the toy train and delivered right to you!

Any time something evil happens, Tim is usually involved. It's just how he works.

I needed the laugh today. Thanks.

Wow, what a trip! Glad you're doing better!

On the way home, did you look at your wife and say "if we were in the Coast Guard helicopter, we'd be home by now."?

Wow, Erik! Glad you're okay and we're able to salvage the trip! :thumbsup2

Well, I can't deny that they are much more interesting.

This is being added to the future road trip list! :thumbsup2

I'm glad it worked out ok. This is the first time I've seen a DisDad use the Extraction Team for real. Cool pictures, though!

Hey guys. Just poking my head back in after a couple weeks of vacation. The usual stuff:

Drive to Florida
Get on a cruise ship
Get airlifted off Castaway Cay on a Coast Guard helicopter due to a medical emergency
Head to Orlando after getting out of the hospital
Enjoy the rest of vacation

Soooooo... yeah, not quite like I drew it up, and I'm very sorry I missed most of PCC 3.0, but I ended up on the other side of vacation alive, so that's nice.

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

That is just slightly beyond the scope of the "ideal" vacation, but I'm glad it all turned out ok.

So will there be a TR? :confused3

That's quite an experience.

Hey the rain that hit you all to the west seems some might find its way down here. According to the camera shots of CC it looked gloomy there also. Not a good day for anyone. But I am glad you are ok.

:rotfl2:

I don't think I'd let Scott in my house. On the other hand, I don't think customs would let him over the border.

:rotfl2:

Excuse me, but you let Beiber back in the country :confused3

Sorry it couldn't be better info.

It's ok. I am looking forward to staying there.

Eric, I am very glad to hear you are ok. Did they let you wear a cool helmet with the mic while you were in the helicopter?

Three hours of risk management on-line lectures will drive you to the boards...

Brutal.

Damn I take a break do some actual work, come back and it jumped two pages.

Wow it is chatty on here today.

It happens every now and then.

Yikes. Glad you are ok. At least it is a cool story to tell.

We landed in California. Today the kid is sleeping in a bit and then we hit Disneyland. Carthay Circle Theater for a late lunch and WoC tonight.

I was thinking of doing DL first & then Aulani to rest from DL.

Well, that's just a load of Peanut Butter. As I mentioned a while back, my group at work was (as of a few years ago) 5 people. Then 4, then 3, and as of Friday, we're down to 2 of us. A good friend left the company in search of greener pastures. (Sorry Andy, didn't mean to rub in the lack of rain.) We have been told that they will re-hire his position, but in the meantime it looks like me and the other guy are going to have to suck it up and work just a little extra harder for absolutely no more pay! :thumbsup2 <-not a thumb.
.

The Important thing is the CEO gets a raise in pay by cutting expenses. You should hope it will trickle down to you.

Maybe I should take Norm's advice... and not do anything to prepare for them, maybe they'll leave!

I'll let you know how that all goes, as the weekend progresses.

Prepare for them like you would prepare fr your own family. It takes awhile, but most people start to see I'm right.
