Well, my attempts to write a "English-Children/Children-English" dictionary are still going slowly*. Today, I am happy to report that "in a while" apparently translates to "a period of time slightly shorter than it takes to blink. " And, "if you stand up in the shopping cart again, I will put back the squirt guns" translates as "please, jump up and down in the cart, squealing with joy, and possibly dancing to the background music of the local megastore."

* I decided some time ago that, despite appearances to the contrary, my children do not actually speak English. For example, when I say "Don't touch that!" it apparently means "Stick that unidentifiable object that you picked up off the ground up your nose."

LOVE the idea!

Do you understand? means "If I say yes, dad will stop yelling at me, but I really don't understand and will do it again in 3 minutes"

There must be a dialect difference. My children don't wait the three minutes. :headache:

(Soooo glad I went to the grocery store tonight - now I have the supplies for the final episode of season 1 of Game of Thrones - gin & tonic & pizza.)

It never ends. Do you have English to wife translation dictionary? When I say we can't afford it, she hears to charge it on the credit card.

Landshark 2, Randall 0

:lmao::lmao:

I'd like 2 beers right now.

Ummmm.... Norm, have you ever been to disdads.com?

Brian, have you ever heard of sarcasm?

Wednesday ownage.

Are you starting to run away with it?

I wouldn't even try to write one. On the off-chance I were to write it, even having it published under a pseudonym would not save me. :lmao:

Good heavens, no. The fact that I even make the list is, to be honest, either one of the seals of the apocalypse, or a sign that much of the Dads board has come down with some sort of crippling disease, possibly caused by a combination of Beverly and peanut butter. ;)

Great idea! You will need to update it as they age since the dialect changes in no logical fashion.

Well, just a quick little update. I am apparently a qualified hole digger because my fence post holes passed inspection. Of course the inspector did not leave any notice via a note on the door or a voicemail. I had to call this morning to even find out if they had been out.

:cool1: Operating a goon spoon was still one of my best jobs. I should have stuck with it rather than become a professional PostHoleDigger.

Happy Wednesday!!

just checking in, hopefully I will have time to catch up later.

Interview went pretty well yesterday. It was fairly quick. I was told the process has just begun and they'll be bringing in more people and eventually narrowing the field to bring back the best candidates. I actually had a couple of questions when they paused and asked if I had any. :woohoo:

the vibe seemed positive. now the hard part is waiting to hear if I will make the cut for Round 3. that might take a couple of weeks.
...

Way to go! Best wishes for a great round 3!

English to wife will never happen. It would mean that what they say means the same thing the next time they say it. :headache:

Not doing so good this round. Darn responsibilities.

Evening folks....

DW thanks all for the kind words about the cake, she was nervous for her first try.

Morning Brent... now get back to work to drunken up us Canucks!

Mission accomplished. :thumbsup2

Hopefully, she will be hot. Pictures.

Nope.

And true to form, what I was given the heads-up about happened. Dealt with it, no hassles. Now it's back into the boss's hands.

Rough day getting things done today. People were going slow, and so was the stock. Did the load (around 12-14 skids) and what I hate is that I can barely move now. I could do this the whole week, now after one day, I'm toasted. :sad2:

Tonight we did Family game night, I should add it was outside on that paver slab I was working on with a new patio set inside a cabana, It was great, on days I'm not home I should rent it out like they do in some theme parks, it seats 6:cool1:

Good luck :thumbsup2

Thanks. 2-2 tonite. Two hard singles. She was thrown out at 3rd, but had an RBI, and scored a run the next time up. Final score was 20 to 1, our team, so not much competition.

I wouldn't even try to write one. On the off-chance I were to write it, even having it published under a pseudonym would not save me. :lmao:

They just make it up. Blaming us on fake stuff that happened in the past from their memories.

You're just getting old. Happens to the best of us.

And by hope, I mean, not hot. :lmao:

Pictures at work are very frowned upon. As far as I am concerned, especially with pyscho chicks.

Well, it was worth a shot. They may be psycho, but if they are hot, it gives you something to look at.

Not here. Too many bugs outside. KY, the Ohio Valley, is also one of the worst places to live because of all the allergies. So, we live in a big, humid pit full of insects and pollens. Not much fun to be outside. If I win the lotto Friday - I'm heading to Golden Oaks.
