Day 6 of no electricity. :sad2:

I'm thankful that my gas grill has a side burner to heat water (and that I don't need electricity to have water).

I'm pretty good at surviving without the power but I would be more accepting of my fate if it wasn't going to be in the high 90's with 50% humidity. :crazy2:

Stayed home most all day yesterday so I did not have internet access. I'll have to try catching up through the day today.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Yikes. It would be melt down city at my house under those conditions. Prayers.

Still?! :scared1:

Man, I feel for you, Mike. We're 6 hours away if you want to sleep in the air-conditioned guest bed.

Wow your still without power. Damn. Have they given an ETA on it returning?

Now officially joining this thread, referred by twokids0204 over at the introduce yourselves thread. I would like to join DIS Dad’s Club Member as well. Thanks my friend, again!
Welcome to the club!
First mediocre day weather wise. Rained this morning (more like a misting) and cloudy all day. Crash actually got rained on doing yoga this morning. Serves her right.
Getting rained on during Yoga on a Hawaiian beach is still a lot better than sitting at work today.

Happy fouth to you guys as well!

Today also comes with sad news. The A/C went out on the wifes car.and a new compressor is required to fix it, to the tune of 1200$. I dont think the disney trip will survive this one.

Matt
Sorry to hear that Matt - no one ever should have to cancel a Disney trip because something like that happens. Call Disney, tell them what happened. Maybe they'll feel bad for your and comp your trip. Or at least give you a few extra Mickey Stickers when/if you make it down.

We just shut it down, maybe I have a little OCD when it comes to the food but I find it easier to put a sign up and just close.
Our customers are pretty cool about it, they give me the gears about closing but always say "good for you guys".
Definitely miss my paid vacations from my old job......but that's about it!
I can understand that. Someone else on the grill isn't going to keep the same quality as the person that owns the place.

Thanks we try. Plus I can't say what I do but I have inside info at some resorts.
Well, the words "Cast Member - Resorts" under your avatar are a pretty big hint....:rolleyes1

What's your restaurant called again... maybe we will take a suprise trip up some weekend this summer.

It was a fried chicken place... if I recall... ???
In case Nick doesn't get back to answer, the restaurant is called Mad Millie's. I don't recall the type of food however.

Hey fellas....

I was in the middle of a long heartfelt post to you guys last night but then I lost it. I was so mad that I just shut off the computer. :badpc:
It was a fart joke, wan't it?

Mmmmmmmmmmm Doleeeee Whip!!!! Be careful with those words. We made our own here once, turned out just like Disney's.

Please do tell...

I have some official Dole whip Mix and a Icecream Mixer... how ever mine always turn out a little ...ummm soupy/runny.

Oh and welcome to the Club. Insider man. :wave2:

Yeah no problem. We have the same one. We bought this Montel Mixer we use to make it and it comes out a little thicker but not too far off. We also use ice from Sonic Fast food that may have something to do with it also.

What was your water (or other liquid?) to powder mix measures?

I forgot mine right now but can post when I get home.

My Mixer is by Cuissenart.

My results are tasty... just not great with the texture.

Had an interesting 4th yesterday. Woke up at 5:30 thinking it was Saturday since I wasn't going to work. Started scrolling through the email on my phone (I'm on-call for work) and didn't see the system generated messages that I was supposed to see on Saturday morning. Peanut Butter and Beverly, the system is going haywire again. So I stumble out of bed, grab my laptop and open it up. Then I realize I can't see because I don't have my glasses. After I find them, I fire up my connection software, then realize it's Wednesday. :headache:

So it's not even 6am, no one else is awake, and it's already 80°. What else is there to do but hop in the pool. I laid on a floating mat for about 30 minutes just enjoying the "cool" part of the day. As soon as the sun started peeking out over the garage, though, I knew we were in for a scorcher.

Racine hit 102° yesterday and I was out standing at my grill. (Seriously, you should taste what comes off of that thing. It's outstanding.:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:)

Fireworks were at the beach 12 blocks from my house. The show was good, but there was no soundtrack. :sad1: Disney has spoiled fireworks for me for ever.

We drove down, just in case we needed an A/C break while waiting. With all the traffic and pedestrians, it took us 30 minutes to get the 12 blocks home.

And now my 7yo and 5yo are in the car with DW's parents, heading up north. Bambi, the baby and I will be joining them after work tomorrow. Anyone want to guess what kind of sugar-high they'll be on when we find them?

Oh, and if you couldn't tell by my rambling in my last post, I really don't care to be at work today.

Good luck Mike...

That's a horrible position to be in, but you seem to have a great attitude about it.

I add this also:
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons lime juice
1/3 cup sugar
1 and 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, whipped

Truth. ::yes::

In case Nick doesn't get back to answer, the restaurant is called Mad Millie's. I don't recall the type of food however.

I think they specialized in "broasted" meals, if I remember correctly. And it was in Uxbridge, Ontario.

Yeah I guess your right. Thanks for the welcome. I look forward to helping out when I can.

I don't remember saying Welcome! before, so...Welcome!

Please do tell...

I have some official Dole whip Mix and a Icecream Mixer... how ever mine always turn out a little ...ummm soupy/runny.

Yeah, that happens to us too. Still tastes good, though.

I was really thrown off yesterday, too. I kept thinking it was Saturday and then realizing, no, I'm actually still a week and a half away from vacation. :sad1:

I think we all know the answer to that one. I still look at my parents and the things they let our kids do and ask, "Who are you? Where was this when I was a kid?"

Oh, and if you couldn't tell by my rambling in my last post, I really don't care to be at work today.

As opposed to... :confused3
