ok lets talk food here.with the 180 day ADR window coming up soon for the DDC.I am trying to get some kind of plan on where I think I might want to eat.My problem is In Disney I like to eat everywhere. So taking away any possible sit down meal we might plan as a group,If you had 3 nights there. Where would you eat for those 3 nights???

3 dinners at the world... hmmm...

Le Cellier
California Grill
Whispering Canyon (for the milkshakes)

those are the known quantities, but I'd love to try eating in France, Narcoosee's, or the Yachtsman

This group started and shut down a thread on one day - special leap year edition. You never know when that might happen.

Next year we're doing a special Mother's Day thread, I think the wives and mom's in our lives will appreciate us staying out of their hair all day. Let them get some chores done for once. :rolleyes1

Wednesday stay at home ownage.

I ordered and received a new Disney DVD today. So, while staying home with youngest dd, it was great to visit WDW again. Brandy was the narrator and Megan toured the parks with us. Not sure what happened to Stacy. They included the Fantasy Land expansion and Art of Animation in it. It was great to be there again. It included by own URL. Time to go and see if I have a great vacation offer.

I ordered one not that long ago, but never got it. gotta try again, I guess.

couch to 12oz. Been doing pretty good with it:drinking:

:lmao:

OK- so here's proof!

.

I can't believe Don was the only one that was drinking! What a lush! :rotfl2:

Mike and I did have some suds as well - somehow the bartender didn't get ours in the pic.

A great meet and a couple of great guys! big thumb----->:thumbsup2

Morning, guys.

Today is the last day of the "week" (4 days) of overscheduled craziness. If the kids (and I) can make it through one more day of swim lessons + soccer camp, we can finally relax and start catching up on sleep.

Yesterday was extra busy though - DD has had a skin thing going on for a while, and we finally got in to the doctor. Turns out it is molluscum contagiosum - which is actually what I thought it might be, after looking through our copy of "Baby & Child Care." It's a virus, but only mildly contagious, so there is nothing much to do but let it run its course. But - going to and from the dr's office shot the afternoon, so the kids are extra tired and cranky already this morning.

Oh well. DW has been coming home from work and crashing on the couch lately, which, while not so good for any sort of couple time, has been very good for my "Gin & Tonic & Game of Thrones" habit. Pity we don't have HBO, so I have to wait for season 2 to hit blu-ray.

Hope DD's skin issues clear up quickly...

My DS was sent home from school yesterday, they thought he had chicken pox, but turns out it was a reaction to some meds he was on. Hopefully that clears up as well.

Everything I know comes from either Disney or Simpsons Quotes :lmao:

Don’t be selling yourself short here…
Being a DisDad I’m sure that just for starters you’re also fluent in such things as…

Star Wars
Indiana Jones
All Monty Python
Princess Bride
Animal House
All of the National Lampoon films
And every Super Hero, action flick and classic war film in the catalog.

Not to mention the required Chuck Norris, Clint Eastwood, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, John Wayne and Humphrey Bogart quotes.

Morning Gentlemen. :coffee:

Norm, glad your daughter's doing better. SAHdad, been there and done that. Stop by the liquor store on the way home from your running around. You've earned it. :drinking1

All caught up...

About to head home.

DS was sent home from school today, they thought he was getting chicken pox. Turns out i was just a reaction to some antibiotics he was on.

He's home with DW now...

hope he's feeling better!

Boma was good, but I gave Jiko a higher grade because of the experience. I'm not a usual one for style when I eat, but the restaurant at Jiko was so much nicer, food was great, and since we were staying at resort, had complimentary cauliflower soup which was amazing. Jiko also gave us a warm finger towel to clean our hands, which just really impressed this hillbilly.

DW and I did Jiko once, but got sat in the bar area and overall experience suffered because we were so close to the door and got less attention than I think we would have at a regular table. That was before the kids, and now with those little heathens in tow, we'll stick with Boma.

Yeah, I order medium. If I know a place over cooks, I'll go med rare.

I get very disappointed if I order medium and get well done. better to order medium rare. For father's day that worked out since I had to pick up the steak from outback. Ordered it medium rare, and after getting it home and setting the table, it was medium. :thumbsup2

Read to Audrey all the birthday wishes, she was thrilled, even if she didn't quite understand who you all were..:rotfl2:

I passed on all the congratulations to DD for graduating preschool last week. The convo went like this:

Me: Bella, the Disdads say congratulations on graduating from preschool.

Bella: What?

Me: the DisDads wanted me to tell you congratulations

Bella: Who says congratulations?

Me: The Disdads.

Bella: (confused look)

Me: Dads of other families that I talk to on the computer. They are called Disdads because they love going to Disney World, just like us.

Bella: Disney World tells me congratulations?!?!?!

Me: (FACE PALM!)

I would recommend trying Jiko again. Mine are now 10 & almost 8 and they do well at most places now, except youngest constant ordering chicken nuggets. I told her that was the reason she got sick.

I hate those day care viruses. Seem mine caught most all of them.

Morning guys.

Glad to hear your baby girl is feeling better. There is nothing worse than a sick child. That is a good looking pancake!

Thank you. She is bouncing off the couch right now, so I think its turned the corner.

Excellent pour, Norm. :thumbsup2

Not bad for free hand... :thumbsup2

Thanks. Practice makes perfect, so I'll start eating more pancakes. Only logical next step.

As if I needed a reason to drink more, but you have a great idea. Thanks for the encouragement.

I didn't get to, why should you? I got DW, 3 DDs, DW's friend, and her DD. (note that three of the daughters listed are teenagers and one 5 yo.)

You have my sympathy. If I had three daughters, they would find me swinging from the rafters.

Been busy at WDW and haven't had time to post but I had to share this.
We were leaving EPCOT and some CM's diverted us around a walkway near spaceship earthe due to a 3+ foot Copper head hanging out of a planter. He was defiantly real and not in a good mood.
Otherthan that we have been having a magical time. Rode sorin 3x today 2x a few days ago where I caught the golf ball the second time through. Both DD'S did padawan training, and did great. We r hitting MK again tomorrow with breakfast at CP. hope all had a great fathers day. My DD'S were certainly good to me.

Florida is a reclaimed swamp so it isn't surprising to see critters running around. You should try the everglades where there are boas that eat alligators.

Sounds like you guys are having a great time.

Morning Gents!

Today is Declan's last day of elementary school. He is pretty excited to be moving up too middle school next year and all the teams and clubs it opens up to him...

Have a good one everybody!

Congrats to him.

Finally no fever today. Thanks. Her nose is starting to clear up as well. Thanks for asking. She is getting her energy back as well and is ready to go. I am going to give her another day home of rest and antibiotics and we may go to the zoo for a couple hours tomorrow - maybe not that long.

That is good news.

That is funny. When I talk about you guys, mine just rolls her eyes. But then again, whenever I say anything, she just rolls her eyes.

You did Soarin' more time in one trip than I have in my life. For some reason, I don't think it's better than test track or mission space. I guess I am just missing something. Then again, I never "caught the golf ball". Might have to try that on our upcoming trip if we ride it.

btw, how do you know that copperhead wasn't in a good mood? what exactly did he say?? :lmao:

keep having a great time!!

Morning Gents!

Today is Declan's last day of elementary school. He is pretty excited to be moving up too middle school next year and all the teams and clubs it opens up to him. Today is also my last day in the office for the week. I get to be the dad with his class this afternoon as they head to the pool and tomorrow I get to stay home with him and give the living room a second coat of paint.

Have a good one everybody!

congrats Declan! and congrats to you on day off!

Soarin is one of my favorites on D-Cot and at WDW. We go there first in the AM, get FP, ride, and then return.

see above comment. I can do it if the opportunity is there, but if I miss it, it's no big deal to me.

I miss Stacy. My evil BIL won't return my Stacy DVD.

Stacy didn't do it for me. I preferred the big ticket to Stacy.

This morning, I made pancakes again for youngest dd. I am keeping her home to rest one more day. So, I free-handed this pour on a whim. October is just of far away!

Ok now that I have some room mates for our DDC trip its time to get to know them a little better. So here we go.Scott,Chris here is a what would you do question.

We are sitting around the room socializing and I start to choke on a bacon wrapped scallop. What would you do???? would you hand me a beer to wash it down? would you get me a glass of water as to not share the beer? would you just let me choke to save more bacon/scallops and beer for you? Would you move me from in front of the fridge so if I died I would not block the path to the fridge? or other???:confused3

all I have to say is, no matter what...

PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!

not in the plans for this trip. perhaps a future one. especially if we get around to staying at AKL.

That is funny. When I talk about you guys, mine just rolls her eyes. But then again, whenever I say anything, she just rolls her eyes.

mine has not discovered how to roll her eyes yet. but it's coming... i can feel it.

My morning sucked. Finally went to the DMV to replace my license. 8:15 and there are already about 40 people in front of me. The computers are down so we had to wait around 45 minutes before they could even start to take people. Finally get called to stand in a line and there is only 1 clerk there. And that person was also handling the appointment line. Took forever before handing over the 400 different types of ID they require, take the eye test and get the picture. At least I passed the eye test. The good news was it was expiring in October so they also renewed it.

More packing today. But I am checking things off my to do list.

:lmao: I would hand you your beer. No one should ever have to drink water. There's bacteria in that stuff.

If you already drank all of your beer then I would be willing to help move your carcass for easier access the fridge.

I think that's a trick question... aka... A Trap!

You are assuming that your room mates would be alert and able enough to even notice.

My 2 cents though if they did notice, is Chris would have to operate on your esophagus to save the bacon wrapped scallop, as to not waste it. Sure there'll be a bit of blood loss, but blood will grow back. If you survived the operation, you could continue to eat the scallop, if not, they rinse it and split what's left.

‘
Sounds like you already have a good emergency plan worked out.

all I have to say is, no matter what...

PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!

I hope I did a good job of screening my room mates. Cause these answers are starting to scare me.:scared: But then again not having my room mates reply is scaring me even more:scared::scared: I might have to scratch bacon wrapped scallops off the Hors d'oeuvre menu just to play it safe

hope everyone's been staying cool in this heat. We finally got it yesterday, with today supposed to be in the mid 90s.

DD and I went in the pool yesterday, with 2 goals: to cool off, and to find the elusive leak. Well, we did get cool, but couldn't locate any other holes... so I refilled the pool afterwards to a level where the filter could run, and lo an behold, this morning it's still at the same level... no drop. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

in other news, my "round 2" interview is now scheduled for tuesday. Now I have to see if any of my suits are still in good enough condition to wear. If not, it looks like I am shopping this weekend.

and last night, i get to work and times square is full of people doing yoga. an interesting juxtaposition... you had people doing yoga and centering themselves, and meditating, while all around them others were cursing, elbowing each other, eating junk food, and of course, all the times square "regulars"... like the "i need money for weed" guys.

I was on here yesterday talking about the heat and how it would be worse today. Well then I saw this this am and figured, yea I can suck it up and deal with it today..

not in the plans for this trip. perhaps a future one. especially if we get around to staying at AKL.

Not ours either. My plan is to make it thru all of them and then decide. Only signature one of our repeats is Fulton's. We try new ones each trip and mixed with some returns. We tend to pick based on location as we eliminate transport time. This trip is Chefs de France & Wave. Next Spring Break trip at BWV will go to Shula's and maybe Kouzzina.

Well, at least they passed you. Would have been worse the other way.

.

If you need a highly paid assistant stationed 8 hours away who doesn't actually do any work, then I'm available for hire.

We were watching something on TV yesterday, don't remember what, and the chararcter said "over the edge" and my oldest dd, and big POTC fan, immediately looks at me and we both say "and back again". Perhaps her knowledge should include more than just quotations from WDW movies.

This morning, I made pancakes again for youngest dd. I am keeping her home to rest one more day. So, I free-handed this pour on a whim. October is just of far away!
