DIS Dads DDC XVII - Leap year edition

When I was younger I used to draw the Mansion.

Then I would map out the floorplan of the attraction, the best I could, based on the various twists and turns.

It was really neat when I worked in the park to be able to walk through it.

Somewhere, in one of my boxes, I have photo prints of the interior during those walks through the Mansion. If I locate them, I'll have to scan them and share them. They're really cool. Down inside the ballroom - not up above where the Doombuggies pass by. Up close and personal to the tombstones in the graveyard, etc, etc.

Well, I've done enough damage for one evening. Just consider this my contribution over the past 3 days since I last posted, and call it good.

a few pics we had taken for DD upcoming birthday.

Kinda stepped in a big pile of **** today, my wife and her friend took the kids for a bike ride when they saw a couple blocks away people were moving out and they had a sign Free swing set, well anyway I get a call to get over there to check it out, It was almost like new, it is metal but the rust proof one with a fort, of course I want it, they told me it had to be out of there by tonight, I rounded up a few of my buddies, and within 15 minutes of talking to the people we were taking it out of there yard, we were getting looks from people since we took it in one piece and it 15ft long with the fort & slide

It was even funnier to see us carrying a shed down the street since my friend wanted it, and they were giving it away

Morning everyone.

Its Thursday, and one day closer to the weekend!!

Really looking forward to the weekend, My brother is flying in from Mississippi and we are driving to Wilmington NC on Saturday to attend the Ghost Hunters Event on the USS North Carolina Battleship. Should be pretty cool!

Morning Duck and the gang,

We were going to the Keys today but the winds have picked up and seas are 4-6. Think I will pass.

So the college mailer pile continues to grow in this house. DS16 has now received about 75 different mailers. Kinda crazy. Tonight was another College Night at the HS. We didn't make this one, but there'll be another one in the spring. We're planning on getting to that one. He has to turn in his fall semester schedule here in just a couple of weeks. I find it strange that they submit their schedule so far in advance, but that's the way they do it here. He made the Honor Roll again. We're quite proud of him.

Yea, it gets even better. DD narrowed her choices to 4 schools and now we get to go on road trips. The NY trip is already planned and we still have to go to UCF which is in Orlando. She isn't sure about FSU so we may or may not go to Tallahassee. Priced flights there and it would be less expensive to go to Europe. Once the application process is over, it becomes fun.

This is one of my favorite signs in the whole world. This one is from DL, but the ones at WDW I love too.

Can't wait to see it in July.

Good morning guys! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!


Well, I guess I should really say Happy March Madness, but it feels like Christmas morning...

I think that breaks some kind of cuteness limit. Great pictures.

Some experts have said UCONN might not make it to Saturday... I've also heard UCONN is going to win this game by 20... I'm scared because I have no idea what UCONN team is going to show up. I hope we can defend the 3 tomorrow.

Feel the same way about the Boilers. Been very inconsistent all year long, but they've consistently choked in big games.




In case anybody is interested, I got an e-mail yesterday with a link to a site that lets you pick the tournament based on match ups. It gives you a description of teams with their strengths and you pick a winner without even knowing who you picked. It takes out some of the preconceived ideas in picking teams. I actually went back and changed my DIS Dads bracket to my picks based on this system. I figure I can't do any worse than I would have if I just went with my "gut" picks.

Oh yes, and DS13 was able to advance to LIFE Scout on Monday evening. Now I have two LIFEs in the house. He's already thinking about what kind of an Eagle Project he might do.... It's a great thing, but I wasn't prepared for the possibility of two different Eagle Projects in the same year! DS16 is supposed to be doing his this spring. Phew. It might be a crazy kind of year around here. DS16 only has his Project left to do, and then once he completes the Eagle Book, he will be eligible for Eagle. DS13 has all of the various Merit Badges as a LIFE Scout and his project and book... but as he told me, he wants to get the Project out of the way and then concentrate on the MB's - opposite of how his brother did it.

Victoria Secret model ownage.

When i tell the story to my grandkids, it will be a car with 4 Victoria Secret models, i was single, and i hooked up with all of them. Then, we all got in my private plane and flew to WDW and lived in the TOTWL for a month with all of them.

Use your illusions (that’s why we have them).

When we last moved back in 03, we left a similar swing in our backyard that I’d built for my boy. But it was all wood and weighted close to two tons. It would have been tough for any of my neighbors to pick up and hail that one off.

Oh - yeah that - no I wasn't going to bed - I was putting my DD to put. Reading to her.

It's our custom. I've been reading to her most every night of her life (when I'm not on a trip). We're currently on the last book of the "Little House on the Prairie" series. 1-3 chapters each night.
