DIS Dads DDC XVII - Leap year edition

So my next two Disney trips are officially booked. Will be in Florida for a convention in Ft. Lauderdale in late April, heading up to WDW for a few days following that, staying at OKW. And the entire family will be heading down for a week during the blistering month of July. The boys will be treated to a concert in Orlando - The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses, and we're thinking of doing Hoop-Dee-Doo as a family, but not the parks. Should be a nice, relaxing week. We'll be at AKV over in Kidani, with a Savannah view. I'm so looking forward to it all!

Too bad I couldn't sneak out in April... I'd crash in your closet!

Wait a sec... I am going to be in Florida at the beginning of April. Maybe I can just stay till you get there. Wonder if my family would notice.

DW and I got our tax refund yesterday.

Just paid off my truck. It's officially mine.

This will sound incredibly selfish, so hear me out. Your family - you, DW, children - is priority. It has taken me 12 years of marriage to convince DW of this and she is finally on board. After we married, we visited my parents and an aunt (seperate trips) a month before or after a holiday, when convenient for us. She thought it was horrible I didn't see them more. But, we spent the holidays at her divorced parents' different locations, driving to one house Christmas Eve and the other Christmas Day - always trying to just find time for us. One holiday, we went to her dad's sister's' house, and her dad didn't even show up. She was devastated, but it still took several years more. So, do what is best for your family first. If you can add in the extra time with parents, siblings, inlaws, etc then great. But, in my opinion, DW and my dds always come first. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Stopher, thanks for the pics. It reminds me that I will be there solo May 5, which is something to look forward to. Have to look at old TRs.

On the good news front, DD will be playing in her first lacrosse game tomorrow afternoon. They are playing a team in the Keys. I may go down a little earlier to see some friends in Key Largo. First girls' lacrosse game ever for the school. No idea what to expect and they are pretty nervous.

I had one come thru for VWL one year. But, I won't let it drag to last minute. If nothing by timeframe, then I book the week.

I ' ve tried 3 times now i do not even bother with the wait list but on the flip side i've herd of people being lucky everytime I must have No luck at this point !!

Thursday night urine ownage.

I received the emails about background check and drug test today. I sent off the background check authorization today and will go tomorrow for the drug test. I was a bit put off as the instructions say "Applicant: Be prepared to provide sufficient quantity of urine and upto 3 hours to complete the test."

A sufficient quantity of urine! Who thinks these things up? Ooops. Nevermind.

Hope you all have a wonderful Friday. We have that same big storm warning for tonight - 30 cm of wet snow!

You wouldn't know it right now as it is is a beautiful, sunny Friday morning. I hope it doesn't come as I am suppose to start try-outs for a grade 8 boys volleyball team at 6 pm. I haven't coached kids this young in a long time and I am looking forward to it.
