One time when I was single I made a Christmas tree out of beer cans. I taped them together in layers as I emptied them. Maybe a new project for this year. I wonder if DW will be on board with that one.

I remember smoking cigars as well. Back in the day.

Here's mine

Anyone else a cigar smoker or used to smoke cigars? I tried several brands but my favorite was Licenciados - I think that was the name.

I like Bacardi but am not a rum afficionado. Do you like Captain Morgan? Is there a vintage rum? I can taste the difference between Grey Goose vs Popov vodka.

Captain ok, but I grew up with Bacardi. It was the first mixed drink I ever had and It will most likely be the last too.

Never heard of Popov. Big difference between Grey Goose and other vodkas in the store is people tend not to pay for their Grey Goose :headache:

I never actually did, but a good friend of mine, when we lived near them in CA, always wanted me to join in at the Cigar Club. I like the smell of a good cigar, but never actually smoked one.

Of all the smells of tobbaco - I prefer them this way:

Pipe
Cigar

Then waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down at the bottom (sorry to those of you who use them.... )

Cigarette.

My great grandfather used to smoke pipes, and every now and then I get a whiff of a pipe from someone somewhere and think of him. For a while, at the building I worked at for the company who dumped me - at the smoker's door - there was a guy would be there in the afternoons when I was leaving for the day smoking his pipe. A fine older gentleman. We would chat every so often. He was a nice guy. Then he died. And I was dumped. And so I don't get to smell it any longer. At least not there, anyway.

My first drink was at 8 years old. I had a Gin-n-tonic. (Gibley's gin) Later, I had a beer. I was hooked on beer forever more.

Popov is the crap of vodka. Once you have someone drunk, you can substitute Popov for their top shelf ordered as long as you mix it. I drink it neat and can tell the difference. Although, I'm not sure I could discern topshelf in a LIT.

I was in a cigar club in the early 90s. I found that one and it was great. I also used Kodiak. So, when we married, DW said no to all of it and I eventually quit. Since then, I've smoked a cigar a few times without craving a return to the Kodiak. Last time I smoked a cigar, my oldest dd said I was going to die because I smoked. So, it is no more cigars in her presence. I'll sneak one on a road trip from time to time. It is very relaxing.

That is an excellent way to look at it.

Us KYians have a great perspecitive on alcohol use.

My first drink was around 6 or 7. Aquavit.

If you don't know what it is, look it up.

Norwegians LOVE IT. We would have it every Christmas and New Year's. It sails down south of the equator and back in oaken barrels several times before it is bottled and sold.

Stronger than vodka, in my opinion. Firewater - my cousins used to call it. Definitely NOT for shots!

I don't drink often, but when I do, I prefer Norwegian beer- but of course that isn't readily available, so I'll have a Heineken.

That's why my buddy used to always tell me as well. Relaxing. I can see that.

Ah, that's our whole bottom shelf in the vodka section. Prince Igor, Russian Prince, Banff Ice etc...

My princess.
