lately, when i go to turn my lap top on, you here it running but nothing happens. i hold the power button down till it shuts off and turn it back on. again, i hear it running but nothing comes up on the screen. i have to keep doing it for about 20 times till finaly, the dell screen comes up and it starts loading.
once on, it works fine.
if i walk away from the computer, after awhile the screen saver pops ups like normal, than, after sometime, that goes out. if i hit the mouse which use to turn it back on, i hear it running but nothing will come up on the screen. i hit the power button and it shuts off and i have to do the entire process all over again.
any clue what could be the problem.

Hey Guys! How you doing?:wave2: I have been busy with work and Ethan's basketball practice and games...our family has become like ships passing in the night! :rotfl2:

Is everyone still having trouble with speed of the site? I have not ever had any issues with it so I guess I am lucky..

I feel like I am so far behind on things...what have I missed??

Dell is the problem :rotfl:

I haven't ever had luck with their desktops or laptops. Sounds like it could be the video card or the hard drive. You probably hear the fans running. Do you have a desktop monitor that you could hook it up to and see if it does the same?

Dave, check the power settings in the control panel.

It may be set to go to standby after x minutes of inactivity.

Hi Dave

So we are now watching all Disney princess movies in chronological order for the girls. They still don't know we r going back soon they think we are just in one of our major Disney moods.:rolleyes1

I hope some day I will gain the ability to keep a disney trip secret that long. I'm sure it will be well worth it to see the looks on their faces when you tell them.:thumbsup2

ok, so i get the other screen, i plug it in to my laptop. the screen shows up with what is on the laptop. ok, ill unplug it and see what happens. still working fine. i log the computer off and turn it off. it shuts off as normal. now, here is where it hasnt been working. i would have to hard start it 20 times to get it to work, nope, now it comes on with no problem.(the other screen is not plugged in) ok, its a fluke. i turn it on and off five times and each time it worked. :sad2:
so, why would plugging another screen in the laptop and unplugging the other screen fix the problem? :confused3 i quess ill find out if it turns on ok tomorrow.
