Mornin' Brent..

Lot's o' snow?

Not much here really, a couple of centimeters at best

Looks like the speed is stabilizing - for a bit anyways...

I wonder if it's just the DISDads or all of the Dis board? After last week, they maybe just keeping us slow. :rotfl:

:rotfl: :lmao: I was on the theme park board, and they were at a turtles pace too...

I tried posting and got a page saying that they are prepping to move to new servers, and that there'd be some periods of downtime

Yeah - I got the same message. Said that they'd be moving to new servers over the next 10 days :scared1:

New Servers Ownage!

Good Morning!

Woke up to snow falling. DD's excited. It will probably turn into sleet later and make it too messy to play in though.

Sorry to hear it. I am torn with Chase. I try to follow Dave Ramsey in financial planning. It has helped me set a budget and my 401ks have done well. But, Dave says no credit cards. So, I tend to use my card for gas (convenience for how much I drive) & vacations, but use cash for most everything else. I could get more rewards if I charged everything, but spend less with cash.

I will have to read Mr. Ramsey. I definitely need to get a better handle on my finances, and it would be nice to have a plan in place for when we get out of the current mess we're in.

First snow of the season means the trains won't be running on time. I should plan to catch an earlier one to get to work today. :woohoo: working today! that means a paycheck next friday!

hope everyone who has to be out on the roads stays safe.

Hey guys. Hope everyone's enjoying this Saturday. Got a few inches of snow here... Looks like the light fluffy stuff. I'm thinking about taking my leaf blower to it instead of shoveling/snow blowing... We'll see how this goes...

Hmmmm, I haven't seen that message.

But in the long run, that's a good thing.

I'll take a day or two of SLOW - for improved service in the future.

Who's got an iPhone?

How long does your battery last?
What apps do you recommend? (the free'er the better :rotfl2: )

I just figured the boards were up all night with Audrey's cough since they are working like I feel:faint:

I can usually get a day and a half or sometimes two days with light usage out of mine.

One of the keys to long battery life is to make sure you minimize the use of location services by the apps you have installed. GPS kills the battery quickly.

My favorite apps:

Live365 - streams DISRadio
WDW Lines - Touringplans.com app
Pandora
Flipboard
EPSN ScoreCenter
TV Guide
Photobucket
Flashlight
Waze - Free Navigation App
The Weather Channel
Crackle - free movie streaming (older ones, but still free)

All of the above apps are FREE (atleast in the US - don't know what that conversion to Canadian Dollars would be ) :rotfl2:

I am really surprised by evenyone having trouble with slow connection...it is working here!!!

Maybe Brian has been been replaced as controller of the Univese...Bwahaha ha ha ha:rotfl2:

We’ve got an expedition in the works for today. A couple of weeks ago I hauled a couple of guys from the HS band down toward the middle of the state for regional auditions. Well DS had a great run and found himself placed 5th in Region 3 (that’s the ten counties in the middle of the state between the north boarder and the capital). That’s most excellent (and against some tough competition), but his overall score was also good enough to also get him invited to audition for the All-State honors band this year. So this morning we’re off on another 200 mile round trip for that opportunity.

:car:

Nothing is guaranteed, but he does have a chance. We’ll see how he does. Either way… it’s an adventure to be had.

Good luck!:thumbsup2

Morning Guys. We have some snow here in Detroit. Fluffy now but it is supposed to warm up. My dd 3.5 is obsessed with having a snowball fight after all the Christmas cartoons. She has obviously never been nailed in the head by an ice ball or slush ball!

Morning guys.

I was "wild and crazy" last night and a) turned OFF the computer - wow (for me that is a wow), and then b) at about 11:10 went upstairs to get my DW13 out of bed and bring him back downstairs to start a movie, but not just any movie - a 3+ hour movie! He's been begging me for the past couple of months to re-watch "Fellowship of the Ring" with him (he's a HUGE LOTR fan), and I haven't watched any of the films in a couple of years. Sure a scene here or there when he watches, but never just sit down and watch from beginning to end. He had asked earlier in the evening but I put him off yet again as I was hoping to go to our Men's Bi ble Study at churhc this morning, but got a message around 10ish that it was cancelled due to the coming weather (snowed through the night, at least here in my area of Central Indy it did). Anyway - I thought for a while, knowing I'm going to be gone for nearly 2 weeks - and decided it was the "good dad" thing to do. He was flabbergasted and thrilled. By the time we started (after making the popcorn, getting blankets to add to the cozy factor... we didn't start it til almost 11:30. Since I didn't need to be up for a 7am study, what did it matter if I stayed up til 2:30ish? DW watched with us. She's still asleep, but I have a meeting to go to at noon, so I had to get up. But it was great to give my son that "your special" feeling once again.

Nice list - nemesis comes through... maybe the tides are changing...Naw, still a nemesis.

Touringplan's - do you need a subscription to view crowd calendars? I would think so - much like their website.

When I get home from my meetings (these are Scouting related - not business related - and they're gonna last most of the afternoon) - I get to come home and help DD build a snowman! The snow is great packing snow!
