Dance, soccer, basketball, softball, and percussion dad currently. Been a gymnastics, ice skating, and swim dad in the past, but not old enough for floor routine.

I was told to always keep them busy. Seems to work. Dance, Gymnastics, Volleyball, baseball, football. I helped coach volleyball two years, defense flag football last year, help coach tball. My oldest is even student body president and an Alto Sax player. Who would of thought my shy one would break out of her shell!

Always told keep them reading as well and seems to be paying off but costing me; glad we bought them kindles! Plus library is growing its ebook collection. My DS (1st grade) is reading at 3rd grade level. My DD are way beyond me. My 4th grader, she is reading at 9th grade level. I'm still reading children's books.

Gotta love it. Wouldn't trade for anything!

I use the rain to wash my vehicle.

I can tell - proud dad. I coach them in soccer & basketball. I also play tennis with them. Oldest dd (10) has a kindle, but she isn't reading books on it. Maybe one day.

I need a beer. I just tucked my 10-year old daughter into bed as she was hysterical crying that Mark and Bopper were eliminated from the Amazing Race. Trying to console her while stifling a laugh is something they clearly omitted from Dad school.

Figure skating/ice hockey dad here. At least your bleachers aren't frozen.

Hockey! Thought about it, afterall, I'm in Minnesota, where hockey was born :) - I opted for a lesser demanding sport that costs a little less.

My cold bleacher is my chair sitting in my ice shack on a foot of ice :-)

I assume that's ice fishing. Never tried it, but it's on my list. :thumbsup2

Next year, my daughter's figure skating team has to compete in Lake Placid in January. It will be over a 4-day weekend. I am already looking at dog-sledding, ice skating on an outdoor a speed-skating oval, and possibly bobsledding with my son to kill time while she has practices, warmups, pep rallies, etc. My wife has already told me she needs new boots because hers are not warm enough.

Yes, that would be ice fishing. Since you have not tried it, you may enjoy this. It is a Guide that I started, have not finished it yet. A few people said I should publish it. PDF on Google Docs: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B6F9ixuU2UqbMjk5YmJjODYtNjdhYS00ZmYzLTg5MWItZTNhYjk5YzljOWY0 - let me know what you think?

That should be fun. We were trying to convince out gym to do the Presidential Classic @ WDW in Feb '13

It's because they were from the KY. That makes them the best.

I'm sure.

Both my kids absolutely loved them. My son's name is Mark, so I think that's why he liked them. He was mad they lost, but basically OK. My daughter was almost inconsolable, and she never reacts to anything. I don't know why she had such affection for them. Must be something in that Kentucky water (bourbon, burgoo??).

It's the old story:
