It's back to work tomorrow after a long and stressful vacation.

Just wanted to share a picture of me with my oldest daughter. It was her Coming of Age ceremony day here in Japan today.

My week is dominated by meetings this week, and I am not looking forward to any of them. Most are dog and pony shows, with my putting together one or two slides. Doesn't mean I have to enjoy it though.

Tried the lottery thing, I've done my part, they can't seem to get the numbers right though. I can't relate about the meeting etc, my day will consist of running cash and putting stock on the shelves for 8 hours, avoiding extra jobs the boss wants done. Sadly, I get paid well for this.

My guess is that it's going to be more like the Space Mountain/Haunted Mansion/Pooh "interactive queue". If you're the first one there in the morning and there is no line, I'll bet you can walk right on and the ride will run with default settings.

Well, I'm playing with house money.... But I'm not sure if Bambi is going to let him keep betting.

I’ve seen most of the various versions of this occasion as they’re done in the US, how does it work over in Japan?

Tried the lottery thing, I've done my part, they can't seem to get the numbers right though.

Around my house we refer to playing the lottery as: “Paying your Stupid Tax”.

I’ve been feeling pretty stupid lately…
It must be about time to go out a pay a little bit of that particular tax.

I live a bit deeper in the south… we’re all rednecks on one level or another.


The only folks down this far that even get a pension are the ones that already make twenty and thirty times the average. Again, the wealthy have pretty much gotten their losses back (and you’re welcome ya’ bunch of ******), but those of us down toward the bottom of the middle will be looking at a number of long years just to get anywhere near braking even.
