Hmm. I didn't know we had to have formal rules. But then again, any chance to create a spreadsheet...

I'm not sure the actual function yet but the parameters include # of authors, tenure status/seniority of the least senior author, quality of the journal/conference and the quality of the beer being served at the bar. When Andy got his first publication we treated him to a $3 FAC pitcher of Bud Light. Today with his third publication and with three more years until his tenure decision, we made him buy us $4 pints of Sam Adams Winter Lager.

If you figure out the function, maybe we could get a paper out of it?

I think a multidisciplinary research team to help calculate the appropriate discipline factor might be a big selling point when we go for grant funding from the NSF.

Of course, what's the drink buying requirements when your NSF grant gets funded?

how do you guys get these numbers?? Is there someplace on here that I dont know aobut that keeps count?? The first list I was not on but the refreshed list I was in the top 5!! I will take that...but still curious are you all sitting down and counting by hand??

And the only reason I was working was because...well, because the entire PD was working...

It was eerily quiet that night

I beat up the PC for 2 hours and got it working for now after 10 days of nothing, have no idea how long it's going to last

Hope it makes it till Dec 26th when we are picking up a new one with Gift Cards from Christmas, but I'm not holding my breath on it

WOW I was just looking at the who posted , I'm not even on it, Once I get the new PC I'll have to bring up the postings

So if you don't hear from me in a couple days, the PC died again

The day after the new pc is set up, I'm taking the 10lb sledge and turning the old one into a 100000 megabite pc

That's much better than finding out that you let a gang of home invasion robbers run rampant through the holiday season when you could have busted them before Halloween, just so you could get the first arrest of the new year.
