DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

Hi, all! Here I am looking for accountability!

Thanks for all of the support on the main thread today.

I have a lot to lose, but I think I'll to it in 10 pound increments. So here's to the first 10!

I am following Weight Watchers, but for the time being I am not going back to meetings. I know what I need to do, and I think that I can do it with the support of my DDA family and my real family. But if I fail to check in or to consistently show losses, tell me to get my butt to a meeting!

I haven't read this thread yet. I'll start reading back now.

Beth

Glad you found the thread! We're all working together there! :goodvibes

Beth! Glad you dropped in! This is absolutely the best place to come for support! We are all behind you 100%. Check in often and let us know how things are going, and we'll celebrate the losses and sympathize with any gains. We all go through it, but it's so much easier with this thread to come to!

Welcome!

Beth I'm so glad that you decided to join us. I know that you'll be successful now that you've joined us.

O.K.........I'm in!!! I have really been bad and I am now only 4 lbs away from my highest weight when I orginally joined Weight Watchers about 9 years ago. Of course I have joined atleast 5 times off and on since then. I am going to try and do this on my own 1st. Hopefully being accountable to ya'll.........my most trusted and most valuable friends.........I can do better.

I weighed in this morning and I will let ya'll know how it goes.

Beth I am aslo here!
I am just on a "type by" DH is leaving today for a trip and we are packing him as I type. I will be back tonight or first thing in the morning.
I want you to know I did good yesterday (no candy) and so far today I am ok. Just some coffee and a bite of the girls 3 pt fruit and yogurt parfait. I am saving up because we will have to eat out tonight with DH.
Be good today! I am off to have a glass of H2O.

Hi, Paula. Welcome to our group. If you are interested, there's also a Weight Loss Progress thread that you can go to once to post your weight, and then on a weekly basis (or whatever you decide) you can edit your post to show your weight loss. That has been so helpful to me. I know that I'm going to have to put it all down in black and white, so I'm less likely to cheat on my eating plan!

:welcome: Paula & Lynn.

Wow we are really growing all of a sudden.

Have a good weekend everybody & keep on making good healthy choices. :goodvibes

Hi, all! I am already feeling better. It's amazing how much better I feel without the junk in me and with a little exercise. Makes me wonder why I spend so much of my time doing the wrong things.

Have a great weekend everyone!

The wrong things are easier. It's a lot harder to pass up the goodies. It's a lot harder to do the exercising. It's funny, though. Now that I've been doing this exercising thing since January 1st, I feel so yucky when I don't do it. I actually look forward to walking/jogging each day. I feel so much more energized throughout the day!

By the way, our family joined a local rec center this weekend, and they offer free aerobic classes to members, along with water aerobics. So, my plan, starting in 2 weeks when our cards are activated, is to go to the gym twice a week for water aerobics while the kids are in school! I'm pretty excited about it. If that goes well, I'll add in a step aerobic class, and maybe something else as well. On Saturdays, I'll be doing some weight training to try to tone up these muscles.

Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Well today is day #3 for me out of 100. I would love to go 100 days eating healthy & I am determined to do it.

I stayed within my ww's points today & drank my water & I am feeling positve that I am not going to fail this time. (with your help  )

Hope everyone had a great day.

That is an awesome goal. I wish I had thought of it. It seems so attainable. My goal is to get through this weekend without screwing up too badly then get back on track again. I haven't been horrible by any means, but I'm not sticking to Atkins either. I think just being aware is an improvement over my past non dieting days.

Glynis that sounds like fun. I recently checked out a local fitness club and was amazed that it would cost us $120 per month for 4 of us to just use the pool, obviously we aren't going to do that. I hear that they are going to be building an aquatics club soon so hopefully they will have reasonable rates.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that we can get a year long membership for 400 dollars. Alan's work will reimburse us his portion as they want all their photographers to be in shape, so that will cut it down, as well. It's a really great place, and they also have day care for the twins if I need it.

Our plan is during the summer to make a family swim day on Saturday. The kids all had so much fun when we went on Thursday, so it should be fun! The pool is really nice. There is a lap pool, a wading pool for kids, with a jungle gym, small slide, water guns, and a HUGE bucket that fills with water and dumps it out over the whole wading area every 8 minutes or so. Then there is a pool that only goes to 5 feet deep for the "tween" set, a lazy river with a small whirlpool. There's also a baby pool with 2 tiny slides for kids ages 1-4, and last but not least, a gigantic water slide. It's so cool!

We were there for almost 3 hours, and even though there were a ton of people there, it never felt crowded. Should make for some fun outings this summer, and keep my kids away from the TV for a while.

I did alright today. I did however get upset at DH and went for some candy tonight.
But I am glad to have you all to keep me on track.

That sounds like a great deal and they have so much to offer. We live in small town USA so we really haven't got many opportunities for exercise or entertainment. It's nice that we all know each other, but hard in other ways. The closest mall to us is over an hour away. We have a town across the river in NH that we go to for groceries and Department Stores, you know the basics.
