For a week--I leave Saturday and Ill be back next Saturday (the 19th)
we have 4 days in Disney, 1 in Seaworld, and 1 in Universal/Islands of Adventure!

Aaagh, I'm so jealous! Have a wonderful time!

I just got through going through everything in my closet. Guess what I found! Remember when the kids and I went to the DVC merry mixer in December and we got pewter DVC ornaments? When I got home I couldn't find them. I just found them, stuffed in the toe of one of my crocs that I obviously haven't worn since December! YAY! This is not a good sign though. I wonder how much cash might be in the pockets of the 30-40 pants/jeans/shorts I am giving away. I have 10 garbage bags full of clothes so far. That doesn't count shoes yet.

Can you please explain when a boy has 3 testicles? My cousin's son has three, but I don't think mom quite understoon what causes it and what they will do for it.

I don't know too much about it, but it's a condition called polyorchidism (or triorchidism, for specifically 3 (vs more than that). As you mentioned, there is a slight increase in risk for testicular cancer, but from what I understand not nearly even the increased risk of something like cryptorchidism, or undescended testicles (whose risk isn't terrible, either). There are different 'varieties' based on whether the extra teste(s) share other parts of the male reproductive system. Other than an increased awareness in the need to do monthly self-exams, he shouldn't have anything different to worry about. There aren't usually symptoms with just extra testes, no changes in fertility, etc from what I understand. That being said, I'm glad he is going to a urologist because it (like other similar changes) can sometimes "go along with" inguinal hernias and other things that might need addressed.

Hello, all! I haven't had a chance to go back and read yet. Last week I spent 95% of my waking hours at the Synchronized Swimming Age Group Nationals meet. It was terrific but exhausting.

Any of the nurses here have any clues what blood in my urine may mean? I have had a couple of UTIs recently that I've gone to the walk-in for. At the last one, they requested that I get a re-check post antibiotic with my regular doctor's office. I did that last week, and they just called today. They want me in for an office visit, since I had "a large quantity" of blood in my urine (and it wasn't TOM when I went in)! I am freaking out! I don't do doctors very well. Not only that, I haven't been in for several years, and I have gained (literally) a hundred pounds since I last saw him. This is going to be so awful. I have to will myself not to cancel this appointment.

When I had one of my infections (don't remember if it was a UTI or bladder), I had blood in my urine. It scared the wits out of me because I didn't have any pain with it yet. It ended up not being any worse than all the other ones that I've had. Sometimes there is blood and others there are not.

You MUST go to your appointment. Don't let the weight stop you from getting the care that you need.

We're doing well. Avery is really getting refluxy, so she's not the angelic baby we once had but we're hopefully getting ahead of it. Elise has some belly trouble after eating, but not all the time... so that's refreshing! They really don't fuss otherwise, and sleep pretty well... so we're still pretty blessed! We all go to the doctor tomorrow -- me for a follow up appointment, and the girls just for a quick weight check (not an appointment, we're just stopping in to visit).

oh that sounds neat. Might have to look into it. But not sure if we could do it with the girls. Hiring a fairy godmother is pretty much out of the question. As I am not sure if the girls would stay with one. Virginia gets real fussy with daddy watching her sometimes. Not sure how she would do with a stranger. And I would have to make sure she fed right before we left.

It could mean that you have a kidney stone on the move. A bladder infection, or a more serious UTI. Don't put off getting it checked. If I lived closer I'd go with you! Get it checked!

Beth- DO NOT cancel that appointment....you need to go to the dr. I need to see you nice and healthy in less than 2 weeks. ( don't worry about the weight gain...just remember you've seen me looking like a drowned whale )

I so appreciate everybody's comments...here and in pm's. I wish I could say I was doing fine...but I am not...life just (excuse my language, please) sucks sometimes and this is one of those times for me. The part that bugs me the worst is I've done as much as I can to rectify the situation but it's not up to me anymore.

So, I got a call at 9:30 this morning from my doctor's office. It was the nurse (who I just love). She said, "I have been thinking about you all night. I came in early to the office to look at the test results again, and found Dr. Smith doing the same thing. She agrees with the high risk doctor that the level is not high enough to cause you any concern. The fact that you are over 40 and pregnant is enough to push your numbers that high. You are not to lose any sleep over it!" So, the earliest I can get to the high risk doctor is the 25th of August (guess there's not much cause for concern or they'd get me in sooner, right?). They cancelled my ultrasound on the 22nd, and I'll just go to the one on the 25th with the high risk people.

I'm just going to put it out of my mind and go on about my business. With all the prayers I felt from all of you last night, I had a really peaceful night, with dreams about a healthy baby (no gender revelation, though), so I'm going to go with that!

The shoes I bought for DH don't fit properly. The Crocs for DS are definitely too small. I may be heading over to the mall after dinner.

Speaking of the mall, they made an arrest in the carjacking where the woman got shot in the face. Of course there have been a TON of police at the mall since the carjacking and the jewelry store robbery.

Glynis - Ah! I see that you posted the answer as I was posting the question! I am so happy that they don't feel there is anything to be overly concerned about! I was doing a little research, and I think your risk is actually LOWER than average for a 41 year old woman.
August 25 seems like a long time to have to wait, but as you have seen with my mom's tests, I want everything NOW NOW NOW!
