DDA Chapter 9

Well, I guess I'm headed to bed. Terra, Mom and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at Mimi's Cafe courtesy of the thank you gift card for the Disney trip I planned for Rachel's friend's family. I still have plenty left to go at least one more time with just Terra or on a girl's night. Tomorrow we have church camp so I don't have to drive to work, just meet Momboss to get the girls nearby on her way to an appt and then she'll pick them up here after we swim. Since she got holiday/regular visitations aligned I'm off Thurs and Fri since all girls will be with their dads. Yippee! I think Kristi and I are going to take the kids to the zoo and/or to see Wall-E over the next few days. Plus, now I'll have time to help Mom get ready for hosting bunco next week.
We recently got a Mimi's here and love it!

Happy 1st Birthday

Lucy!
Happy birthday, Lucy!

Enjoy NY Becky. Sounds like fun, even if it is for work.

Well, I guess I had better get ready. Have a good day everyone!

I had a not so fun day at work today. My boss told me that they are restructuring and I will be reporting to someone else. Unfortunately it is someone I don't respect too much. He's simply not that intellegent but good at kissing up and taking credit for other people's work. I'm hoping it won't mean too much change for me-I can't imagine that he'd want to change things too much but it is really hard for it to not feel like a demotion. Not that it is meant to be a demotion at all but I was reporting to a Sr VP who I had a lot of respect for and now I'm reporting to someone I trained before I went on maternity leave with Lizzy. Too bad I'm not male and a golfer. There are other changes going on with a good friend of mine that make me uncomfortable too. I've been there over 16 years and changing jobs is not something I'm interested in.

I went to bed a while ago but couldn't sleep. I guess I should try again.
Sorry, Bernadette. Maybe it won't be as bad as you fear. :wizard:

We recently got a Mimi's here and love it!

When we got there I realized I had been for breakfast before, but this was my first dinner. It was delicious and the kids menu was really neat - educational and fun. I had a blackened chicken and bleu cheese quesedilla that was wonderful. I really wanted some chocolate chip pecan pie so got it to go. When I opened it it was like a whole mini pie! Not a bad deal for the price since I'll get 4 snacks out of it.

I finally got my temperature to drop last night, but now it seems to be going back up. I think I will put another call into the Dr's office when they open. Besides the fever, the pain under my ribs is really starting to bother me more. I cannot be sick right now, my manager is leaving town tomorrow & will not be back till Wednesday. So I need to be better to go to work!
I hope you feel better soon! :wizard:

Let us know if you can recommend any new recipes, please!
I've been going through all of my old Kraft Food and Family magazines and pulling out things I want to try.

Tonight I'm making the catalina crock pot chicken. I don't remember who posted that, but it's been something I've wanted to try and I finally got the jam yesterday.

Up for some fun for the kids and free food? It's almost Cow Appreciation Day!

Dress like a cow from head to hoof for our 4th annual Cow Appreciation Day® (July 11, 2008) and get a complimentary combo meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner) from Chick-fil-A.

Not up for sporting the full cow look? Partial cow attire will still get you a complimentary entrée. Request a tall, cool Dr Pepper with your Chick-fil-A and complete your meal.

The kids made costumes last year by putting spots on adult size t-shirts and masks with paper plates. They loved it!

Good morning! :)

It's going to be hot here today, so I think we might venture over to the pool. I do need to mow the back first, so I'll keep the pool as incentive. Nicholas wants to have a friend over later so we'll see how that pans out. So much for my purging!

Hope that iron kicks in soon, but I also hope it doesn't cause any other side effects. ;)

Oh, I'm all over that. I took enough during my pregnancy to learn what I need to do to be safe! :rotfl:

CUTE! Kyle and I were just talking last night, wondering where someone would get a cow costume ... especially since "partial cow attire" is only awarded an entree! :teeth:

I'm so sorry. Sending PD to you!

Yesterday, we walked up to swimming lessons, only to find out they had been cancelled again. I knew it was a chilly morning, so I should have called to confirm, but it worked out fine, because we played in the park for an extra hour and went swimming from 12-2 p.m. when it was definitely warmer.

I ended up cancelling my last doctor's appointment, because I'm feeling fine. Kevin and I were joking last night that Noah is staying put until Friday, because he hears all of his sister's and brother's yelling. :rotfl:

Today, we definitely have swim lessons, followed by more swim time. After naptime, we're going to meet Julie and family for our rescheduled date at Kings Island.

Hope everyone has a good day! :wave2:

Have fun today!

Theresa -- sending PD to you and your family!

Janet -- I hope you start feeling better ASAP!

Elizabeth -- how is your Mom feeling? I just heard they arrested the person for the random shooting, thank goodness!

Glynis -- sending PD for your test!

Robyn -- Happy Birthday to Lucy! I loved seeing the pictures from the party.

Tammi -- have fun today.

Elin -- I'm really enjoying your pics and trip updates. It sounds like you and Bob are having a wonderful time. I'm so glad!

The guy is supposed to be here today to fix the icemaker (had to order more parts last time) so I'm working from home. I got to get up an hour later today, which was so nice. Less than four hours of sleep Monday night made me very tired and unfocused yesterday afternoon and I started feeling like the sinus infection was getting worse again.

I hope everyone has a terrific day!

Tia - the cow costumes were delightful!

Im sorry to hear that!

Have you guys heard about the amber alert Deb mentioned for the 12 year old girl in VT? They've arrested the girl's uncle on unrelated rape charges of another 14 year old relative. He was the last person seen with the girl. And today they arrested the girl's step father on unrelated charges also. So sad.:sad2:
so sad

Jen- I forget what exit you are off the NJ turnpike but we are on it now. Have fun this weekend.
Part of the turnpike goes right by my backyard! Have a great time1

They were adorable!

I made this for Lizzy over the weekend.

I had an eye doctor's appointment Friday morning and I do need a new reading prescription so I think that will really help me see all my tiny little numbers at work. I made this little card case before I went to the dr. I need to make another one and make the piece I did in yellow to hold the cards a bit bigger. I got the pattern for free online from www.amybutlerdesign.com in case anyone wants to make their own.

love the dress and the card holder

Jennifer sounds like Virginia might be walking soon
She actually crawled a little today
Elizabeth thats scary I hope the police catch that guy

Janet - I'm sorry you're still not feeling better. Definitely call the doctor again!

Theresa - We are here for you if you need us. PM me if you want to talk. Or you can call. I'm usually at home.

Jennifer - I have to take iron all the time since my gastric bypass. On the days that I don't take it, I can really tell. I feel run down, and like I'm getting the flu. I usually get dizzy as well. I hope the iron helps you out!

Bernadette - I'm so sorry that your job is feeling icky right now. Here's hoping things smooth out some for you!

Amy - You sure sound busy for a woman about to give birth! I don't remember ever having that much energy this close to a birth, especially with 2 little ones pulling you in all directions! Take care of yourself, please!

Elizabeth - I'm so glad that the shooter has been stopped. I can't imagine how worried you must be about your husband being out there.

It is a scorcher here today! I can't believe it! I'm staying in with the air conditioner running until I absolutely have to leave! Ick!!! Just to update you all: I've been trying to work on my trip report, honest, but I left my notebook with all my notes at my parents house. So, I'm waiting for my dad to send it up to me. However, I'm trying to piece together something for you while I wait. I know I can do the first day at least, so I'll try to get that up today!

Hey everyone! Send some prayers to Janet! She's on her way to the hospital - hopefully for chest x rays and ultrasound maybe. She's still in tons of pain.
