DDA Chapter 9

Good morning!

We are off to the splash park at the Y today. Hopefully Princess will like it better than she did last year. DS will be with us so maybe he can encourage her. We're only staying for about an hour because we have to go home to let the housekeeper in, so if she doesn't like it we won't be there very long!

Elin - I can think of nothing better than a day filled with witches and pirates! Loved your pics!

Amy - I prefer to use old fashioned guilt on DH and DS. :rolleyes1

I went to Macy's for a bit this afternoon. I found a Claiborne golf shirt marked down from $50 to $6! The print is kind of loud, but it fits really nice and it is anti-microbial which is good at WDW in August! :rotfl:
I found some T-shirts for DH because that's what he has decided to wear at WDW this time.
They also had DS's Nike shorts on clearance, plus 40% off that price, plus 15% off for using my Macy's card. $10 a pair! So I bought him 5 pairs and took 2 pairs from Target back for a refund. The Target ones were $13 each, so the Nike were cheaper!
I got the grocery shopping done, and I just need to toss the throw blankets in the dryer and the laundry will be finished.

I talked to my mom. She said she was feeling much better, but then she ended up helping watch my cousin's DGD for about an hour and now she is exhausted. Who in their right mind would ask her to help watch a one year old with the way she has been feeling? :scared1: It turns out the request for help was directed at Diva, but Diva had other plans so Mom went over to help with the baby. :headache: Mom said it is still hard for her to concentrate and she is very tired. If she was already IN chemo those would be completely normal side effects, but they are NOT normal for post-op. We'll see how she feels after she finished off her antibiotics. She sees the surgeon on Wednesday so I told her she REALLY needs to tell the surgeon that she still feels "off".

Diva finished the classroom portion of her Driver's Ed class today, but now she has to wait to be scheduled for the road portion. Mom said there is about a 2 week wait for that, but Diva can't blame that on anyone. She is signed up and her turn will roll around eventually.

Elizabeth -- I'm glad your Mom is feeling a little better. Actually, with her surgery and the infection, it seems like there's a reason to be so tired. Not sure about the concentration thing, but I do know from all the ones Mom was on that different meds can really make a difference in the way people act and feel. Sending tons more PD to her and her docs, and of course to you.

That's great news about the sale! Randy was with Andrew at his baseball tournament in McKinney yesterday (I finally threw in the towel, decided I couldn't attend everything and as my head was about to explode decided to stay home to let the steroids and antibiotic have the best chance to actually work) and they were near the outlet, plus looking for Andrew some metal cleats. I scored Nike airfit from the Nike store, Academy and Dick's, and all on sale. Of course, he didn't get the right size in a couple of things, but it's the thought that counts.

I actually feel like "almost" a normal person today (no wisecracks, please). I'm still exhausted but I can breathe better and my head only hurts a little. I better get to work. Andrew has a tournament tonight through Thursday, so I'd rather not have to work at night after we get home. I'm worried about him, as he hasn't gotten to play much lately. Maybe he'll get more of a chance tonight.

Amy -- sending PD for Noah's arrival.

Have a great day everyone! :)

Im here too--I just have been sorting through all the taeching stuff I have bought over the last couple of years and making a list!

Does that mean I missed a post of good news that you got the job?!?!

Sounds like lots of fun for you, Tia! :goodvibes I think of you often this week. The Bertram Inn is at Coolidge Corner (at the corner of St. Paul and Sewall) and that was one place you and I had "talked" about when Kathrin was looking around up here. I could see myself in this area!

I love that area!! I hope that you had a wonderful trip.

Jen is amazingly patient. I made Matty get down after this picture:

Great pictures all around Amy, but Jennifer, you look amazing! So peaceful and absolutely beautiful. :goodvibes

We are having a great trip. We ate at Zaftig's last night. :) I also saw the wine shop you told me about last winter... it was closed, but it won't be all week. ;)

I think I will go out into the area for some retail therapy this morning since the girls are at Kathrin's apt. and sleeping in and Bob is reading one of the hundreds of books on our bookshelves in our room here at the Inn.

Elizabeth have fun at the pool!

Marci glad to hear you are feeling better!

I have been debating back & forth whether I want to add the DDP to our Aug. trip. I crunched some numbers & I think I will go ahead & purchase the DDE card. Even though cs meals & snacks will be paid OOP, I will still be ahead a little. I'm just not sure if we will want to eat as much if the heat is to extreme. I will keep all of my ADR's & if we decide we do not feel like eating at a certain place, I will just cancel(except for the ones with Elizabeth & the DDA gang). I think this will work out better for us & at the moment I am happy with my thinking :rotfl:

Glad you are feeling a little better! I hope Andrew gets a chance to play in the next few games!
We are hoping Mom will feel a little more "normal" after she gets through the antibiotics. There is just so much going on that it is hard to pinpoint WHY she still feels weird. I also think when she feels a little bit better that she immediately goes overboard and then she feels bad again.
I am hoping to hit Macy's at the Galleria this week to see what I can find. I have 2 things to return, so I might as well see if they have anything different than NorthPark. Speaking of NorthPark, talk about SECURITY! :scared1: There were police and security guards EVERYWHERE. They are obviously being very, very serious about keeping everybody safe!

Elizabeth have fun at the pool!

We're going to use our DDE card for the 10 days that we aren't on DxDDP. I can't remember how much you have to spend before you break even on the card. It seems like for our December trip we wouldn't have saved enough to cover the cost of the card, which is why we waited for this trip to buy it. Now it will still be valid next August so we'll get more use out of it.

I will be able to use it in Dec. & for next year as well :thumbsup2

Hi, everyone! The pictures are just adorable! I've had a great time browsing thru them all.

Survived VBS (despite BK and Davis having migraines/vomiting for a 2 days). Drove the kids to the grandparents this weekend and now DH and I are home by ourselves! Run the 10K Peachtree Rd Race Friday and have surgery on Tuesday. Today I'm studying for my nursing medication test that I need to take to go back to work.

Sending PD and hugs to all!

Janet,
To break even on DDE you would have to spend $300 to cover the cost.

I don't think I will have any problems spending that amount!

I see you added our Dec. trip to your signature  Did you tell the kids?

Janet - You will definitely get your money's worth! :thumbsup2

Princess does NOT like the splash park any better than she did last year. And there was only one other boy there from her play group. He got there about 10 minutes before we left, and she didn't seem to care that he was there. I am thinking we might not be making the trip over there very often! :rotfl: It is enough of an ordeal to get everybody changed and sunscreened here at home - no need to complicate things further by having to go over to the Y if she doesn't like it!

I mentioned it to Katie but in passing..I havent said anything to the other 2. I still feel guilty...but my feeling of wanting to go is stronger than my feeling of guilt!:lmao:

You feel guilt? :rotfl: *That's* what I'm supposed to feel when I leave Bob for Disney??
