Riley tried out for the All Star baseball team a couple of weeks ago & we found out last night he made the cut :thumbsup2

This is a traveling team, so I am a little nervous about the weekends & overnight stays. I work weekends, so I am not sure how this is going to work out. Guess I will find out all the details at the parents meeting!
Congrats to Riley! Hope you work out all the travel without too much trouble!

First of all, I think those dang postcards are a VERY bad sign. It means they are targeting a more narrow market than AP holders to gauge response BEFORE they release AP rates. Availability is very limited - every time I check for rack rate rooms Aug. 10-14 the availability gets worse.
Now, the other "prong" of this is that tomorrow is my 45 day mark. Isn't there a new policy about making changes to a discounted room within 45 days? I know that packages can't be changed without penalty inside that 45 days, but it seems like there is something about changing a room only if you are adding a discount? People were talking about it when the last round of rates came out. So if they can hit people with a $50 penalty for changing to a discounted rate then they might as well hold the rates until more people are within that 45 days. I don't need an AP discount until 8/10, so that gives me ten more days before I am 45 days from that, but if they hold the rates another couple of weeks then everybody going the front half of August will be within that 45 day range.

With SSR studios going for $165 a night to the postcard people I guess I should worry about those filling up, effectively taking away my "resort of last resort". I wanted to wait awhile longer and see if our waitlist for the other night at AKV comes through, but if SSR fills up I won't be very happy. We have enough points for one more night, so it would be silly to pay for 4 nights instead of just 3.
I do NOT think the postcards are a bad sign. And I've never heard of a charge for room only changes less than 45 days out. Congrats on booking another night at SSR and good luck with the AKLV waitlist!

Well the weather bug on my computer was flashing, looks like we are in for more thunderstorms early this evening.
Stay safe!

Hunter and Summer both got all a's and b's.
Logan progressed appropriately on the learning spectrum

All's good and the kids are so excited. Hunter is ready for WDW now and thinks he needs to get packing :lmao:
Congrats to all. It is NOT too soon for Hunter to pack!

Princess kept her diaper dry ALL morning! :thumbsup2 She used the potty 3 times. Now she is napping. Dadboss said she didn't go on the potty for them at all this weekend. They are going to have to work on that! :rotfl:
WTG Princess!

Mom just phoned. She is finished with her pre-op. They injected the radio-active stuff that they will use to track how the tumor drains so they will know which lymph nodes to target in the OR. I feel kind of queasy. It really is getting close now.
My aunt, Diva Girl, and a couple of cousins will go to the hospital tomorrow to wait for her to come out of surgery. She has to be there at 6:30 AM - not sure what time they will start her procedure.

I should make it to her house by 10:30 AM Thursday. Hopefully everything will go fine and I will come home Monday feeling like I didn't really need to go after all.
:wizard:

i have read everything and am all caught up. my aunt and her siblings could all use your prayers today. her mom passed away a few hours ago. also dad had his cath Friday. he came out well and defiantly needs the surgery PLUS a double bypass. they will do it at the same time so it will be scheduled soon. today shocker and i would have been a team for 10 years. Love ya girl.
:wizard:

Hi! I told Amy what I was told, which was an incorrect weight. Elise actually weighed 5lb 15oz! Here's the form letter email that was sent out, I'll try and get more details and pictures when the company leaves .... drama ensues, and I need to be on top of that! :rotfl:
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Can't wait to see pictures of your little miracles!!!!

Welcome to the World
Elise and Avery!!

Jen just called! :)

Elise arrived first at 8:35 a.m. She weighs 5 lb. 13 oz. Her sister, Avery, arrived at 8:36 a.m. She weighs 5 lb. 1 oz.

The girls have been with Jen and Kyle all day, except for a half-hour trip away to get immunizations, etc. Neither baby needed oxygen and both scored 9 on their Apgar tests!

Jen sounded very upbeat, but she admitted the c-section had a few bumps (getting sick from the spinal, etc.). She hopes to update her blog soon, with pictures and more details, for all their family and friends. Hopefully, they'll get to go home Thursday morning!

What wonderful news, Welcome to the World Avery and Elise!

I posted this on the resort board but wanted to get your opinions.

If the price were the same which would you pick & why?

BC or GF???

BC because you know you LOVE it there. AND...BC has the coolest ever pool and BC is walking distance to 2 parks AND BC is walking distance to BW, Swan, Dolphin and all the food options those resort offer.

I think but am not sure...that because BW & BC have villas that the little stores there have more options than you could find at the gift shop/quick service at GF.

IF...you said BC or Poly I would have something else to say.....

GF does have the beach and it is magical to watch the castle change color while sitting at the beach.

Lot's of  & prayers coming your way Karen!

Karen - Lots of :wizard: to your dad! And good thoughts to your aunt, too!

Anne Marie - I've never stayed at either, but I would try BC first. Of course if I had already TRIED BC and I was planning to spend most of my time at MK I might try GF. Helpful huh? ;)

Well I have never stayed at either, but have looked around both. I would choose BC, only because it looks a little more casual & laid back to me. The GF looks more uppity to me(not saying snobs stay there, just a feeling that I would not fit in if that makes any sense). Now if it were just myself & Gary I might consider the GF.

Thank you all for the congratulations for Riley :goodvibes The parent meeting is Wednesday night, so we will see what we are in store for :thumbsup2

Elizabeth sounds like princess is doing great with the potty training :yay:

Jennifer I look forward to seeing pictures of your sweeties :goodvibes

GF because I want to stay on the MK loop sometime unless it was during F&WF and then I'd have to say BC.

BC because you know you LOVE it there. AND....
I know, thats the problem!:rotfl2: After straying from the BC in April & wishing I didn't I am afraid to try anything else because we do love it so much.

That's also one of my concerns. I am not terribly fancy & usually get food on my clothes or my teeth

& I don't want to bring the place down.:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Makes total sense. We got the same feeling when we went to see the gingerbread house in 2006.
