DDA Chapter 8

Elin - sounds like your 2 need a talking to. At least one of them might heed the message and help out, and the answer is NotBob. I always try to make my kids take back upstairs whatever they had brought down to play with during the, before they go up to bed. My house may not pass the white glove test, but I can't stand clutter, so I stay on top of that.

Theresa - I had a horrible dream one time that my grandmother had died. In the morning I called my mom to ask if everything was okay, and explained why. My mom said that whenever you dream someone dies, that means someone is going to have a baby. :) I don't remember if we found out if anyone was pregnant, but it made the dream seem more bearable.

Thanks for commiserating with me, everyone. It does help! :goodvibes

I said something like, "It is only 84 degrees outside; I thought it was going to get hotter much more quickly today. I think I will put in a little time outside." With that Bob went outside and started the riding lawn mower! I started the push mower and did the front lawn and around the shrubs and perimeter of the house and he did the rest. And I didn't nag. :faint:

When we came in he said, "When Kristin gets home the three of us need to pitch in and get this house in order."

I wonder if he read my post!
:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: Or your mind. Ok, so I take back what I said about him in my previous post. :upsidedow

We are going to be hitting the pool shortly, if you want to come and cool off! ;) :thumbsup2

Oh, don't take it back... it is the truth! And I thank you for your kind offer to go to the pool, but I need to get dressed and head out to the recital in about an hour. ENJOY the cool water!

At this point in time I could use a trip just to get away from the sadness that is family right now.

While my cousin is having her baby today (yes this time she is in labor) I have found out that yet another uncle is extremely sick and not expected to make it much longer.

Heidi, after I told DS about your love of root beer and PLAIN vanilla ice cream he was hoping you would join us! You could still book a quick trip for August, you know...:rolleyes1

I have been reading along, but not posting to much. So pixiedust: and :grouphug: all around.

That is the BEST time to be there. But give yourself LOTS of travel time. The roads get plugged up with the 'leaf peepers'.

Good to know, as it appears the class starts on Saturday morning. So I then want to show up Friday night as close as possible, if I can make it work.

OK, I have never heard of this place, but this is where the NFMC Convention will be held next year in Orlando:

http://www.rosenplaza.com/

It is very nice, off of International drive and right by the convention center. It is very close to Sea World I would say about 15 minutes to WDW.

Hmm. Rosen is the name of the hospitality program at UCF. I wonder if this is affiliated with the college somehow?

It is affiliated with UCF by the fact that Harris Rosen president of Rosen Hotels, decided to partner with UCF. He wanted to partner with a University to create a world class hospitality and resort college/program. He chose to partner with UCF since they are basically within the tourist capital of the world. Have one of the highest number of hotel rooms in the world.

Harris Rosen donated money to help create the program and to build the gorgeous Rosen College of Hospitality management. The actual Rosen College is not located at the exact location of this hotel but is nearby.

Elin your daughter's friend is going to the Rosen school of Hospitality management.

That's my trick too! ;) If that doesn't work then I offer options..."I'd love some extra help around the house...would you like to fold the laundry while the game is on or put the dishes away? Can you take the trash out while I make coffee for tomorrow?" He suprises me sometime by picking the harder of the two evils sometime...

I washed the outside windows and shutters today. I went to walmart early to get some of that windex that you attach to your hose? (Does everyone know what I'm talking about? It's a bottle of windex that has a hose attachment.) Apparently, Windex doesn't make it anymore. :headache: So I found something in the garage that would work - I think it's more a fertalizer type attachment but it works for liquids. Bob's out there now still working on the grass and it's bald spots.

ETA: the hose just broke and we had our first water fight of the season! :rotfl: Cat's didn't like it!

 I am so sorry, Heidi.

Heidi - I hope your cousin's baby arrives safely to help bring some joy to the family! Plenty of room at WDW in August if you decide to pop in for a few days!

Chanon - You might check at Lowe's for that window stuff. That was the only place I could ever find it - not Target. ExDadboss used to send me out to buy it for them since the entire back of their house is floor-to-ceiling glass.

I just received a very sad phone call from one of Garrett's friends. Remember the boy who broke our front window last year? His father died this morning of a heart attack. I feel so sad for Jacob :sad1:

Does it annoy anyone else when a parent picks up their kid after a sleepover and leaves without reminding the kid to say thank you? Or am I being overly particular about it?

I wouldn't even have to remind my kids, it is expected.

Elin

I need to get to work so I won't have time to catch up yet.

My cousin had her baby, its a boy 7 lbs. 10 oz. 21" long

Thank you Elin and Elizabeth.

I really wish I could go to WDW, but its not in the cards right now.
