DDA Chapter 8

That's how we were last year. This time we'll have a week at home before DS has to go back to school.
I am really looking forward to the trip. DH is ready to go right now. :rotfl2: I think DS is excited, but he doesn't really say much about the trip. WE watched some water park thing on the Travel Channel last night so he was interested in the Typhoon Lagoon segment.

Speaking of Typhoon Lagoon...
I read in the Unofficial Guide that the shark thing is $20 in addition to park admission. Somehow I managed to miss that it is an extra charge. (I know, it's Disney, duh!) That was really the only thing I made me question if we should go to TL instead of BB, but for $20 extra per person we're fine with BB!

It isn't $20 to swim with the sharks. My nephew just did this on Tuesday for free. I can tell you my sister didn't pay $20 on top of park fee. They may have something special with the sharks that isn't the normal swim across slowly that is more.

Terry - Glad you arrived safely! I hate bridges.

Kristine - Enjoy the cruise!! :cool1:

I hear that! Between AP rates not bring out and still being on a waitlist for another night in a studio at AKV our hotel plans are a litle fuzzy.

Enjoy your visit, Terry! :)

Robyn, hopefully they will have something conclusive to say in the report! :wizard:

Elin - Mom said DS was upset that we were arguing. :confused3 We have been arguing for almost 18 years. That's how it works with us! :rotfl2: So he went off to his room and called her on his cell phone. That phone has been FAR more trouble than it's worth.

Glad things picked up a bit! Hopefully it will continue! :wizard:

Princess has gymnastics today. I think we'll probably swim after that.

I know that it is frustrating having him call your mother, but at least you know that your arguing in front of him really bothers him. Perhaps you could save your arguments for when he is not around. :confused3 Kids want their parents to be happily together and worry when conflict arrises. Even if it is the norm, I'm sure he doesn't want your relationship to end. He wants to preserve the fairy tale that is in his head.;)

A quick little swim through the shark tank is included with the regular admission. That tank is COLD and the swim is quick, no stopping allowed.

Cirque du Soleil was awesome! We had a really good time. Afterwards, we went to Disney Quest for my nephew.

My girls are leaving today. They both have things going on that they needed to get back early. We were scheduled to go do Blizzard Beach this morning but Chuck is tired of being in the sun. My sister didn't enjoy Typhoon Lagoon so nixed Blizzard Beach for her & the kids. Chuck and I are taking my girls to breakfast and Downtown Disney. They leave at 12:50.

I'm sorry that the girls are leaving, but you've made wonderful family memories while they were there and you have great photos :thumbsup2 I hope you and Chuck can enjoy the rest of your vacation.

Hmm... here, I'll use this account. Why would Sam's let me "Share Photos" via email and then not let people see them? Actually, I have my own opinions about Sam's Club, so I'll let that go... :rotfl:

1: http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f210/tink2020designs/pinkandwhiterectangleannouncementco.jpg (has a small white border around the whole edge which might be hard to see on some monitors)

2:http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f210/tink2020designs/pinkandblackannouncementcopy.jpg

3: http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f210/tink2020designs/3pictureannouncementcopy.jpg

The wording from the first one stuck with me, but I like the 3 photos in the 3rd one. Showcasing them together, yet giving each their own spot in the lime light :thumbsup2

If you want to do the regular shark swim, it is included in the cost of admission. The $20 is for a longer swim. We love the wave pool at TL, so we keep making the decision to go back there instead of BB. We went to BB only once when the older kids were pretty little. Maybe we'll try it again next time.

This is what I thought too.

Physically I still am a disaster, but I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. A huge turning point for me (aside from knowing they could still come before Monday, haha ) was my OB walking out of the room and telling me she'd be in to talk to us after the anesthesiologist was finished on Monday. Maybe I'm actually going to be un-pregnant and finally meet these girls after all! ;)

Good news, indeed!!

Of the three, the first one you posted appeals to me most, but the third is a close runner-up. Hopefully your favorite is not #2! Then you will wish you hadn't asked for input... :rotfl2:

Oh, I really don't mind :goodvibes I was leaning towards 2 and 3 I think (but obviously liked all 3 a lot, since they "made the cut" ;) ), but really I just want more eyes to bring things to my attention if I overlooked anything that would make one more/less appealing than the rest. After working on designs on and off for 2 months now, I have no real concept of whether anything is overkill, hard to look at, completely stupid looking, etc :rotfl:

I hope you both get a nap today, Amy and Robyn!

Thanks!

No, that would be me Janet. :confused3 :rotfl:

Did they have her hooked up to an airway system? If yes and she didn't snore, that would be a good thing. It means that the machine she was hooked up to is doing it's job of keeping her airway open. (Bob had a sleep study a few years ago and is now sleeping with a CPAP machine every night.) Heres some :pixiedust: that the results are helpful!

No breathing machine.

Terry - Glad you arrived safely! I hate bridges.

Kristine - Enjoy the cruise!! :cool1:

Thanks! I'll ditto the rest of the post too. You and DH and Eric and I sound so similar. Eric and I do the same thing all the time, thankfully most of time the girls just ignore us.

Robyn I would have been freaked out having all that stuff on me, Molly was a real trooper! :wizard: for good results!

Amy & Robyn I hope you are able to get a nap in today!

I received a call from work at 3am & another about 10 minutes ago. Can I use that for a reason to nap today :teeth:

I think it helped that she got to help put all that stuff on her so she wasn't bothered by it. I was expecting her to put up a fight for sure.

Thanks! They are classes that are advanced in a particular subject. The kids are given tests at the year end & they can graduate with a regents diploma if they pass. In our school district some of the classes can go towards credit to h.s. I believe they only have them in NY & CA.

Terry,
 I hate bridges too. Dana cannot understand why I freak out when I have to drive over them...enjoy your trip!

Kristine,
Have fun on the cruise!

Robyn,
:wizard: for the test. Hope you can catch a cat nap today.

Amy,
You too! Take a nap!:)

Thanks. Congrats to Katie!!

It amazes me what will set people off. Bob and I have been arguing for more than 40 years now, 35 of them as husband and wife. Usually the girls ignore us, but occasionally they will become exasperated with us. Often it is with me, actually. ;)

Maybe you should let DS know that from now on you will call people every time his behavior is disappointing... :rotfl2:

Good to know that Eric and I might just make it after all.

My mom did that all the time, it is rather annoying!

I got smacked in the head with a lost cicada yesterday.... boo! I hope you can get a nap when the kids do!

Molly, what a brave girl! :cheer2: Robyn, I hope you get some sleep.

I popped on to share these announcements and get your feedback. Realize, when you click on this link, these are NOT our yet-to-be-born girls ;) Also, obviously info would be filled in, names could appear in any order, etc. I have ordered samples of each to see how they turn out in real life, but we're totally stuck! I wish I hadn't had so much time on bedrest, I would have just done one and been done with it! :rotfl:

I'll try to come back on more today, or you can pm or email me. Thanks in advance! I hope a bit cooler (or at least less humid, if that's your issue as it is ours!) weather has found the rest of you, as it has here! :goodvibes

Sorry to have to link, but I don't want these in our regular photo album.

ETA: See next post for working links...

Thanks Jennifer. Continued good thoughts for you as you head down the home stretch.

I like the first one the best. Eric likes #1 and 3.

Robyn, I hope that you get some answers for Molly. It's too bad that she didn't seem to have her "normal" sleep patterns while there, but they must know that it's different. I hope that you find time for a nap today. I couldn't have slept knowing that I was on video either.

Anne Marie, CONGRATULATIONS to Katie!!! Does middle school start in 6th or 7th grade there? Do they actually take the English Regents in middle school? Do they take the Global (social studies) Regents in middle school, too? Which science will she be taking? I think your school system is way ahead of ours.

Jennifer, I am glad that you are feeling a little better or at least you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I can't wait to see the real baby announcement!

Elizabeth, the Talbots shorts fit perfectly. The Cherokee are a little tight. His patience ran out before he tried on the Sonoma, but they look a little bigger than the Cherokee, so I think they will fit. Thanks again!

Vicki, your trip sounds so wonderful! I am sorry that the girls have to leave already.

I need to get moving. Have a great day, DDA!

I like #2, but I thought that the girls' names didn't stand out. I really like #3, because I like the idea of larger photo of the girls together and then the separate photos as well. Twins and yet individuals. The wording is great on #1. You did a terrific job on all of them!

Hmm... here, I'll use this account. Why would Sam's let me "Share Photos" via email and then not let people see them? Actually, I have my own opinions about Sam's Club, so I'll let that go... :rotfl:

I agree with what most others have saying - my favorite is #3 with the wording from #1. But if I had to pick from what you have - #3. Then #1. :teeth:
Is this the first time we've seen middle names??

I can't imagine why?!?!?!

Yes, I like that suggestion!

Um, I think I shared them once or twice... but the most obvious "reveal" ;) was the letters for the walls, which was just first names.

BECKY!!

Sorry I missed it -- I hope you had a great birthday Becky!

Tammi, congrats on 16,000!
I think we're supposed to be mid 90's for the next week.

I think bubbles are pretty sturdy. They are just soap and water, and soap doesn't go bad. I think you are safe!

Princess has her knickers in a serious knot this afternoon. She threw a big rage before lunch, for no apparent reason. Maybe it is a delayed reaction to spending 2 weeks with her grandparents. :rolleyes1

I called my friend's Dr. and the girl I spoke with is new and she couldn't answer all of my questions, so I will have to call back when the nurses return from lunch. DS needs a check-up but the peds office is out to lunch, too.

Deb - Glad your headache is better! Wow, 15 days! We have 51!

I hope princess has settled down more from her trip and you got the appts. you need.

Thanks for the bubble responses! :teeth: They are ordered. Though as much as I would have LOVED to have these - I don't think Bob would have been happy. :rotfl:

I love the Mickey ones -- had never seen those before.

Great! I hope they fit and that he enjoys them! :goodvibes DS always has that many shorts.
That's kind of cool about the 36/63!

Vicki always has really fun photos! I hope her niece & nephew are having a wonderful time. I can't imagine them NOT having fun!

Janet - We got your check today! Thank you! :) DH dropped it in the pool but he said just the envelope got wet. Only DH would sit and open mail beside the pool on a windy day.

I called my mom to see how her mouth is feeling. She said she is still a little swollen and sore. She also said DS called her yesterday and said DH and I were having a fight about money. Well, YEAH, we were, but it had nothing to do with DS OR my mom and he had no business calling her! We were having a fight about camera equipment! It's not like we were fighting about the grocery bill!
We have spent $900 so far going back and forth to Kansas (airfare plus buying stuff while we are there, like gas for the people who are shuttling us around, restaurants, etc), which has made saving the last bit for our trip harder than it would have been. It looks like AP rates might not be that great (if there is anything for our dates at all) so it is crunch time for getting the rest of our funds together for the trip. DH and I were having a rather heated debate over more camera crap because we don't need that stuff, and he acts like I am saying "No" just to be a witch. I am saying no because we need to prioritize the trip expenses, and more camera stuff is NOT a priority.
So thanks to Mr. Tattletale now my mom is back on her campaign to convince me not to come up there. :headache: I told her I am coming up for the surgery, and that's that.

We got DS's report card in the mail today. He did pretty well overall! None of his final exam grades were good, which was interesting. Even in reading and language arts his exam grade was only a "C". :confused3 But he passed everything, and in the long run I think that's what matters most!

Sending more prayers and PD for your relationship with your Mom. Congrats to DS on his report card.

Hi all...It's been a fun filled and busy morning afternoon here.

I got up this morning and made cookies for Mo's soccer party on Saturday morning. I also was able to bake part of the cake (the soccer ball) for the party as well as one of the layer's for Lucy's smash cake.

Once the kiddos arrived we had breakfast and then spent the better part of 2 hours outside this morning playing since the sweltering temps have vanished. It is absolutely glorious out there now.

Had lunch and then got the boy's down for naps/rest. The girls went downstairs and watched a movie. Lucy had lunch and played while I managed to sort through and bag up the Pampered Chef orders from my party long ago- the stuff came in today.

I have yet another cake in the oven now. I need to pack a bag for Mo and I as we are headed to the hospital for her sleep study. Oh and the best part is that I get home tomorrow morning around 6am and starting at 7:30am the kids start rolling in, all 9 of them. I completely forgot that I'd have the extra 2 tomorrow when I scheduled the sleep study. Thankfully Eric is off and my sister is coming over also.

I plan on taking the laptop hoping that once Mo is asleep I can :surfweb: for a bit. I am so not looking forward to spending the night at the hospital and quite frankly neither is Mo. She is having a royal fit about going.

If I don't see you all tonight I'll catch ya sometime tomorrow. Have a great night.

Wow -- Betty Crocker, pampered chef and sleeping at the hospital. Hang in there.

Katie got her class assignments for the fall (her 1st year of middle school). She was placed in accelerated spanish & math and regents classes for english, science, & social studies. :yay:  She was fresh earlier this week & had lost tv priviledges so when the letter came home today her punishment was cut short. I am so proud of her..even though she's been trying my patience now & again,

Congrats to her -- that is terrific!

Do not read the first paragraph if you do not like bridges.

That means you......Stephanie......

I am here in Kitty Hawk, NC

I left this morning from my house at 11:30 am after getting to work at 7:45am so I could finish up a few things. I punched in the address and took off. I knew the GPS was going to try to send me down to eventually get on 95. I wanted to avoid that at all costs. So, I kept turning left and it would "recalculate" each time until I got close to 95 where I did have to drive a very short distance on it. After that, it gave me the exact directions the kids had given to me. This model even gives you the time you could expect to arrive at your destination. So far I am loving it!!! I even can tolerate the voice since I do not have a choice. I knew the Chesapeake Bay Bridge was coming up and I knew that yes it had been a very long time since I had driven the 7 mile bridge going down to the keys. I figured I could handle the 17 mile bridge. WRONG It didn't help that Guenna had said to me----Mom--don't freak out on the bridge. you will be okay wont' you??? It seems that when you are on a bridge, the GPS shows the little car on the road with nothing but blue all around it let me say it again--------nothing but blue and the little car and the road. :scared1:

I got off the bridge and felt like the lamb thrown into the slaughter. the drivers right after that are absoutely the worse I have ever seen in a very long time. I thought I was gonna put my foot thru the floorboard.

I finally got here and started to get out of the car, and had to sit a bit. I was shaking so much from the drive. I have always loved to drive, but this was the worst I have ever experienced in a very long time.

The place is just beautiful. I am getting ready to sit in the hot tub. Need to soothe the body before bed.

I will read along and then say night everyone.

I hope the rest of the trip is better!

Thanks for the pixie dust at work tonight. While it wasn't crazy busy I did wait on twice as many people as any other night this week :thumbsup2 Hopefully my luck will continue tomorrow night.

Sending more PD for another great night and that the stimulus check arrives ASAP.

I hope you both get a nap today, Amy and Robyn!

Ditto!

I hope you continue enjoying your trip!

:rotfl:

Kristine -- I hope you have sunny skies and smooth sailing on your cruise!

Jennifer -- I like #3 best because it has them individually and together. Kind of like the twin bond -- you want them to each have their own personality and yet they'll have that special bond together as well.

I've been super busy at work, and this trip planning is killing me. I think it's worse than Disney. The intern in the Congressman's office means well, but he's in over his head. I still don't have a good idea of tour times for next week. Tammi -- I saw the post that the baseball game won't work. I still have the duck tour in mind -- just can't schedule it until everything else is in place. I know I've asked this last trip when we were trying to get together -- can we ride the metro fairly close to where you live, or are you too far out?

Sending PD to all those who need it. Have a great day! :)

Jennifer - I can't see them! URL blocked: streaming media. Stupid work network! :headache:

Oh no. The last metro stop is about 35 miles from my house. I wish! Marci - don't worry about scheduling. Just go and have a great time with your family. If it happens to work out that we can get together, that's great! But please don't feel like you need to try to 'make it fit.' I completely understand, and most importantly, this is family time for you all.

Colby and I just made 70 + mini crepes. He wanted pancakes for breakfast, but I needed to make crepes to put in the camper freezer. He didn't even know the difference :rotfl2: He enjoyed helping. We used heart molds and mickey head molds so we could make 5 at a time. One more item off my to do list.

I'm off to CLEAN Colby's room. That was the storage area for the last couple of months :rolleyes1

ahhh!! makes sense now. Cool:woohoo:

Thanks Janet. After the girls leave, I need to work for a couple of hours.

It's vacation woman!! Enjoy it!! (But if this is the only time you are doing work then I am proud of you:goodvibes )

I like the third one also but 2 is my favorite...just not sure why I don't like #1(but I am in the minority).
Your girls first introduction to the world will be beautiful whichever you choose. :goodvibes
