DDA Chapter 7

Today has gone well. Colby made huge strides as his very first speech session. He learned to make the K sound and can now clearly say his name. His therapist was so surprised by his progress and I was so happy I may have shed a couple of tears.

The rain held off for the field trip. I wasn't prepared to hike through the woods to get to the brook. I thought we would walk the road. The croc sandals I wore were not the best choice for the woods. Non the less the kids behaved well and got all the data that they needed.

Dinner is in the oven so we're making progress and may even get to the concert on time :cool1:
Yay Colby! :woohoo:

I am so glad we are driving in August!

Love this smiley!

Hi all...I've read along today just haven't had much time to post.

Jennifer- I am happy to hear you are headed home for now.

Glynis- Sorry that Alan got called into work.

Deb- Loved the pics of your guys'. They are a handsome bunch.

We are to have a parent meeting with the president of the club tomorrow at practice. The other team and parents are to be there as well. We are told that if we can agree to put this behind us than all will be forgiven. I have a feeling it won't be that simple. So if you have some good thoughts to spare I'd appreciate it.

I am headed out this evening with my girlfriend. We are going to a "Quarter Auction". I am looking forward to the night out by myself. Eric and Emma have soccer practice and my MIL is watching Mo and Lucy.

Have a great evening!:goodvibes
:wizard: for tomorrow. Enjoy your night out. You need it!

Deb, yay for Colby! :yay:

Janet, I'm so glad your fraudulent issue was resolved quickly!

Marci and Robyn, I think you both could use a little pixie dust for all the sports stress! We just signed Alyssa up for instructional soccer (it starts up in August). I hope it's a pleasant experience for us all!

Glynis, is your morning sickness starting to subside as you head into your second trimester? Hopefully it will be completely gone for your trip to London! That's great that Alan gets paternity leave! I hope his injury heals quickly!

Jen, I didn't realize that your hospital didn't have a nursery! I can remember crying myself to sleep when the nurse (at Good Sam) insisted on taking Alyssa to the nursery for a formula supplement around 2 a.m. so I could rest. I was only in the hospital for 24 hours with Matty, and I was stuck with the roommate from Hades, so I kept Matthew around for companionship. Had I known that I wouldn't get a decent night's sleep for a year and a half, I would have sent him away for the night! :teeth:

Thanks for all the compliments on Kevin's little video. The clips were recorded on our digital camera, and he gave himself a lesson on piecing it together. He got ticked at me for saying, "That's it?!!" after watching it. He was in the basement for 2 hours, so I thought it would be a little more substantial. I blamed the hormones. :rotfl:

I hope everyone is having a good night! :wave2:

Good Job Colby

We just found out that Alan's work will let him have 3 weeks paid "paternity" leave when the baby is born! They've never offered that before. You can bet we're going to take advantage of that! Alan's plan is that the baby will be born sometime in the second week of December, and then he can take the rest of the month off, which means he wouldn't have to work Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. Like I said, that's Alan's plan. I'm sure that peanut may have plans of his/her own.

How nice! I don't know if DH would get paid leave. Doesn't matter - NO babies in my future! :rotfl2:

Yay Colby! :woohoo:

Great job, Colby! Glad things are off to a good start! :thumbsup2

:wizard: for tomorrow. Enjoy your night out. You need it!

Robyn, I hope the soccer drama can be resolved! :wizard:
So what does one buy at a quarter auction? :confused3

So i got my hair done last night--it is SHORT...a bit shorter than i wanted but i hope i get used to it fast!

I'm used to mine now, if that's any consolation. It's been a little over 2 weeks. Landon said he likes this length/style better, and now that I am used to it I like it better, too! I am actually drying it most mornings because I can't let it air dry or it looks weird, so now it looks nice on a pretty regular basis.

Deb--im trying to emai myself a picture from my phone..but of cuorse, i have no makeup on..and i have pjs on!
and remember--this is not styled or anything--this is just to show the length!

Oh, I meant to tell you guys I was in the Disney Store today and they are NOT at 30% off. The liquidation company decided to keep them at 20%. Which is asinine, but they didn't ask me. :rolleyes1 Things are not progressing the way everyone thought they would with an additional markdown each week. There is talk of some stores being closed the first week of June, and merchandise being moved out to other liquidating stores. That makes me nervous, because they may not go much lower than 20% before they give up and close the store! :scared:

Idol was not the outcome we expected. I won't name names, but be asured that David won :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Colby was not happy with the outcome. I was also suprised by the comments and apology that Simon made before the winner was announced. Have I been cryptic enough

My cruise documents have arrived...guess the trip is really happening!!

Elizabeth...come help me pack! :)

You won't be able to afford the fees if she does!

Wow... almost time for you guys to leave too! :goodvibes
