I just bought my cousin and her husband a copy of the newspaper from their wedding day (7/7/07) for their anniversary. It's their first anniversary (get it? :teeth: Paper? :rotfl: ) and it comes 11x17 and I plan on framing it...Can anyone else think of something else that I could put with it? The already subscribe to the paper so I can't get them a subscription...

I can't think of anything but I just wanted to say that was a very cute idea!

Happy Birthday Beth.

Beth!!

Elin - Love the pictures, everyone looks so happy. The campus is beautiful and the confetti looked like a lot of FUN!

I took pictures of my graduates attending each other's ceremonies,

I'm turning 38 this year, so I think that might explain part of it! ;)
I haven't done any additional planning for Tut. I've been a little distracted with the WDW trip. :rolleyes1 How wonderful that Emma is so interested! DS had a phase where he was interested in Egypt but he seems to have moved on to other things.

What cute pics, Debbie! :goodvibes

Happy Birthday, Beth!!!

Very pretty, Debbie.

Happy Birthday Beth!!!!! Enjoy your day!

Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday Beth :goodvibes

Elin Your daughters are beautiful and you all looked so happy :goodvibes Congratulations.

Debbie Congratulations to both your graduates. They look so happy.:cool1:

We're off to another Lacrosse game. This one is about an hour away. Maybe we'll tie today. I don't want to set my expectations to high.

We did manage to empty the outside storage area of our camper and got that all cleaned out and reorganized. Another thing off our to do list.

BETH I HOPE YOU HAD A WONDERFUL DAY!

stealing this... :goodvibes

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! It was a lovely day, though it didn't feel much like my birthday.

We just watched Star Wars Episode 2. We have seen 4,5,6,1 & 2..(in that order) just have to see #3 now. The kids love SW & know every character. I never saw Star Wars when I was a kid..only saw the 1977 version a month or so ago. Now we are all big fans.

I was 13 when I went to the first one. I really didn't want to go, because I didn't think it looked all that good, but a friend of mine really wanted to see it. I wasn't feeling great either, but I was visiting my grandparents and didn't want to tell them that. I loved it! I must admit, though, that I haven't watched 1,2, and 3 yet.

I thought I'd share a few pics of Lucy. My cousin took them yesterday when they were here.

This is Lucy's new favorite face...

Great pictures! She is a real cutie!

Happy Birthday Beth.
Thank you.

Sounds like this house...

over dinner, Kirsten informed us that one of her table-mates at school informed her that his word for the male anatomy is WILLY WONKA! :scared1: This set of a chain reaction with Christopher telling us various "willy wonka" stories :rotfl2:

[/B]

I haven't heard that one! One of our synchro teams swims to music from the newer Willy Wonka movie, so the name of their team is Willy Wonka. I'm glad that they don't know that people in other parts of the country are using it differently!

I read this to Chris and his immediate response was "it puts a new spin on taking Willy Wonka to the chocolate factory"
EWWWW!

Beth, I hope you had a great birthday!!! :bday:

And, I hope someone made you a cake that was as yummy-looking as the one you made Miles!!!
Thank you! Actually, dh made me a lemon meringue pie, but we haven't had it yet, because Laura and I got home so late last night. He makes a great pie, though, so I know it will be yummy!

I caught a bit of the discussion on Siskel & Ebert (which isn't called that anymore) and they were both saying that the director really chose to make the movie all about battle and less about other things like character development and plot. They were complaining that scenes that took one page in the book were spread out to 5-10 minutes of film footage. So there you have it! :rotfl2:
I guess I could be Siskel or Ebert. :rotfl: I personally would have preferred a bit more character development and plot. It was good, though, just not as good as it could have been.

I don't have any suggestions for you, but that is such a great idea!

We just got home from taking Mom out to her monthly dinner. She is just not doing too great. She is showing signs of dementia, and has lost her ability to stay balanced, even with a walker.
The nursing staff is going to be testing her with different medications to see if they can help.
It just seems weird to see my Mom this way.

This is so hard to watch, isn't it? I'll keep you and your mom in my prayers.

What a wonderful day for you! Enjoy dinner & the movie, I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

We LOVED the movie! It was really well done, and moved along quickly. I can't wait to take the kids to see it! I think they'll really like it. They did add a bit of a romance between Susan and Prince Caspian that isn't really in the book, but it was ok, since they didn't allow it to go anywhere. The kids have all grown well, and really did well in their parts.

They are already filming the 3rd installment of the movies, so I'm pretty excited!

Glynis - I hope you and Alan had a wonderful evening out!

We did, thanks. The only problem we had was in the Chinese buffet place. It really triggered my nausea! I was able to eat a few bites of lemon chicken and some ham fried rice, but the smell really got to me, and I had to leave the restaurant and wait for Alan in the car. Poor guy! He seems so bewildered by this whole morning sickness thing. You'd think we'd never done this before. I keep telling him that it's always like this, but he just can't get over it!

And, at the end of the day...

Elin - your pictures are wonderful! Both girls are so beautiful! Looks like it was a wonderful day for all 4 of you! How wonderful it must be to see your children all grown and confident and ready to take on the world! I hope that I can do as well as you have done! You are my inspiration!

Glynis, I hope the Chinese was tasty and the movie was fun! How did Katie do with her babysitting responsibilities?

Katie did pretty well! All the kids were bathed and in bed by the time we got home. She didn't clean up after dinner, so the next morning, we had a talk about how a good babysitter leaves a home cleaner than when she found it.

She likes the freedom of being in charge and of earning her own money. My BIL threw a fit when he found out that we pay Katie to watch the little ones. They just make their kids do it for free. I don't think that's fair! Katie, at 10, is still too little to really babysit for anyone other than our family, but she's learning. She has taken a CPR class, and a babysitting class, so that she will be ready. She likes to practice, and I think she should be paid for the work that she does. Besides, I've taken care of these kids all their lives, and I know how horrible they can act! If she can deal with that she deserves to be paid!

I reserved all my spa treatments online...when I did it, it seemed like they were all listed

Kristine - another question! Does it look like all the spa treatments are listed as being able to be pre-reserved online? I haven't been able to find a list of the spa treatments that you can pre-reserve...but have been able to find the spa treatment lists for once your on the ship online. (Does that make sense?)

I am trying to get an idea of the food to server at Dawn's 40th birthday party. Yes I like to plan ahead. :teeth:
Her birthday is December 24th, (of course it will be before the actual date) so we will need hot food.

So far I have...
Mac & Cheese
Baked Ziti
Tater-Tot Casserole
BBQ Chicken
What else would your serve? there will be about 26 people.

How about a crock pot full of meatballs, or one of the cocktail weenies with the grape jelly sauce. So yummy!!!!

Are you planning on serving anything sweet? Cookies, brownies, etc.?

Ugh! I'm sorry you weren't able to finish your meal! Hopefully it will diminish soon! :wizard:

Unless I am with Princess I just clear the dinner dishes, rinse them, and leave them in the sink. With Princess I put the dishes in the dishwasher (or we eat out). I wouldn't want a family to assume I would tidy up their mess, but I certainly clean up after myself and the children.
I think Katie should be paid for watching her siblings. My parents paid me for watching my sister, but I kind of resented it because even if I said I didn't want to watch her and told them to hire another sitter they would still make me watch her. I never took any courses or had any training so I probably wasn't really a very good choice as sitters go! :rotfl2:

:confused3  :scared1: You can tell your age! :lmao: Anyone from that era would never admit to not seeing Star Wars. It was the movie of the decade for us. I was a Junior in High School when it came out. It was amazing! For those younger, it might not seem like much in the special effects area but it was truly unbelievable for those of us who experienced it when it first came out.

I was 10 years old when it came out. Those were the big movies of our time!!! Our family went to all of them several times. We thought they were amazing! Now, my kids watch them and love them as much as I did. That's cool!

I am seriously considering doing the half marathon in March next year at Disney. Does anyone have the details on the training schedule for the marathon? I asked Chuck and he said if I did the half in March, that we could go in January of 2010 so that I could do the full marathon.

Jennifer sent me one before I did the half. It was a great help to me. Unfortunately, I didn't save it. Jennifer? Do you still have it?

My mom just phoned. They have her breast ultrasound scheduled for a week from tomorrow (May 27) but then she doesn't have her surgical consult until June 2, and her surgery won't be until some date after that.:headache:
Starting June 9 Princess will be back home, the Uncles will be on their cruise, DS will be out of school and it will be very hard for me to go up there. :sad2: I don't know if they can get her scheduled for a date that I am still off work or not. I have vacation days, but it would put my bosses in a pinch to have to have someone cover for me the day Princess comes back. :headache: Hopefully my friend will be back from her Austin baby nurse assignment by then, just in case.

EDIT:
Oh, she said yesterday she needs to buy a new car. We already knew that, but she prefers to put Band Aids on gunshot wounds. So I just now asked her if she has given any thought to the car. She thinks she'll put some more repairs into her old one! GRRRR! I told her AGAIN that she needs to CASH IN THE LIFE INSURANCE policy she has on me and use the money for a down payment. She refused. I asked her to give me a reason WHY. She said she would have to pay taxes on the money? I told her to let me cash it and pay the taxes, and she can have the cash. She said I am running up her phone bill. I told her to cash the policy. She said she isn't going to do that, she doesn't want to talk about it anymore, and she HUNG UP ON ME!

I read about it on the DVC forum. "Multi-generational". Right. They could film the melee between me and my mother. :scared1:

I think my days of trying out for things Disney-related are over, after the Moms Club debacle. Besides, we don't really cover the demographics they are looking for. 40-something couple with ONE child? How boring is that?

yep!! :banana::banana:

Although the craziness of running around and getting ready has begun...I will be happy when I am on the plane

I hear you on that. I have to be in Lansing this week and next. I don't know how I'm going to get everything done that I want to. Plus, I'm considering starting to run now rather than waiting until we return from our trip. I could then run the 13K on July 4th.

3 weeks total...

11 days AKV
2 days Cape Canaveral
3 days cruise
5 days BWV

We have never gone on a 3 week trip...I hope we do OK

How long are you guys going to be gone total, Kristine?

It sounds FAB!!! :goodvibes
