DDA Chapter 7

I'm hoping for a $99 sale fare. What frustrates me is that Airtran from PIT is offering the nonstops for $79 each way for the December trip - so I'm hoping that flights out of CAK will drop to soon. (I'd buy those but driving an hour and a half in December is not worth the sale price. I have to keep telling myself that. :headache: ) Or SW will come out with their pricing soon! That would help the prices to drop some!

I don't see SW raising their prices dramatically just yet. They are still locked in on $2.99 gas prices thanks to a long term gas contract.
That's good to know!

How can I get a long term contract like that? :confused3

I agree with what Tammie said...although I have booked the missing night as a cash reservation as well...if I had my heart set on that resort and if it was the only missing day...at least I had it
What's the cancelation policy on the cash ressie?

If you have any good thoughts left in you today, would you think about our dog, Button? Kristin and I just dropped her off at the vet to have some surgery done. We don't know how "bad" it is going to be, so good thoughts winging this morning would really be appreciated. Thanks. :)

I missed this when I was on earlier! :wizard: :wizard: Good thoughts for Button!

Did he enjoy it? :dancer:

I don't think so. :rotfl2:

Yes, and yes. I've waitlisted midweek at my 7 month window. However, I've always held a ressie at my home resort (booked at 11 months) until my waitlist came through. Then I canceled the home resort.

I finally got all of my log-in info for the DVC site. Pretty useful stuff! Like the part about how you can't bank points in the last 4 months of your Use Year! :scared1: That is a VERY important thing to know, and up until I found it on the site nobody had mentioned that! :scared: That means we have to get our August ressie completely settled by July so we can bank our leftover points before Aug. 1 since we have a Dec. UY. Correct? (These are 2007 points I am working with for August.)

I am trying to bridge the gap between my hotel room and my DVC room at AKV. I would consider one cash night (maybe) if that was all that was missing, but it would be cheaper to add the missing night onto my HOTEL ressie instead of my DVC ressie. Since we are at OKW for 4 nights I am NOT willing to do cash for that whole chunk, either on the hotel side or the DVC side.

Can someone tell me what rack rate for OKW studio would be for Thurs. Dec. 4? I can't get into their website.

Yes, that just changed January of 08. But I never seem to have any pts. left over to bank. Can't understand that. :confused3 :rotfl:

Reading here on the Dis it looks like $285

That's what MouseSavers says, too.

Well, if the ressie for this August was configured a little different I could probably work it out to use all of the points. The problem is by the time I figure out what I am doing with the stupid hotel portion there probably won't be anything available on points. If the AP rate is crummy (or unavailable) I guess I can try to add more nights using points and add DxDDP to the DVC nights, but that really complicates things. And it eats up a lot of points because the first nights we would need to add with points are Sat & Fri. :headache:

I have thought a little bit about what to do for next year, but with DH having to bid and us needing to book at 11 months it gets all complicated AGAIN. We'll be booking in September and he won't bid and know his vacation schedule until close to December 1. Which still puts us 8 months out, so ahead of people who don't have AKV as their home resort, but it could make getting a room tricky!

off topic...but if anyone uses Firefox as a browser...they have released 3.0 as a beta version...I have been tinkering with it and it is pretty good

Please tell them to give it their all, and if they need 2 nights I'll gladly send down another bottle of scotch. :teeth:

I think Hal and Bruce will try to save the world at least one night over a bottle of good scotch!!!!

Elin, :wizard: for button.

When Dawn and I were young we had a kitty named buttons.
She was a tortoise shell tabby.

I made it through the night :cool1: The Dealership had 32 people show up. Me and a coworker waited on the party. Everything seemed to go well and the money wasn't bad either :cool1: I have to admit that I'm glad it's over with. I don't work again until Saturday night. The boys have games the next 2 nights and both Saturday and Sunday afternoons :rotfl:
:woohoo: Congrats on a good night! Glad for you that it is over.

they did...they are beautiful!! I will have them thank you tomorrow after supper. I think Cassidy's is up on her board already.
Thanks for letting me know. Joe got his in the mail yesterday but I haven't seen it to see how it survived the mail.

Uh oh, the one at Downtown Crossing? That one is crazy sometimes! I can't imagine during lunchhour.
:scared1: Not that deep into the city.:scared1: Just the one at Southbay.:rotfl2:

:wizard: Poor Button!

Everyone on the Transportation Board is saying June for November and July for December. I'm also waiting - since Airtran is running $146 :headache: each way for the December trip. And that is supposedly a sale price.
I could get $114 with JetBlue for those dates. $249RT with taxes. I also have a free RT ticket from JetBlue. When I got my Amex card I figured the rewards on that were about equal to the 1% reward on the Disney Visa but now that air fares are up I should start using the Amex more.

Stephanie and I were just talking about that. We think the days of $118. for a round trip from Baltimore is long gone
I paid $105.60 RT each for the 7 of us in August 2006. Don't think I'll see that again.

It was so much easier when Jet Blue didn't have a change fee. I would book the flight I wanted and just keep an eye on the price. They started the $40 change fee sometime after I booked my January flight for Joe and I see that as of 5/1 they have up that to $100.:scared:

I am sort of doing a trip report on kodakgallery. I've uploaded my photos and will add comments to the photos. I just don't have time to do a real trip report.

Let me know if you want the link.

Tammi-there are even a few not so great pictures but they help tell the story.

Leighanna's teacher had told me the other day that she was just about out of crayons. So after seeing this idea on the DisBoutiquer's board, I made one for her to take to school.
After all the other kids saw it they wanted one too!:sad2:

I went to lunch yesterday with Leighanna and all the kids told me they wanted one.
They each told me what color they wanted and I made them last night and today.

I think they turned out pretty good.

I used to make those! It is cool that you made them for the whole class! I haven't sewn in ages, and my machine needs to be serviced, but this thread is making me think I want to start up again.
