Jennifer I booked on southwest. Chanon had posted that they had 15% off one weekend and it worked out that we got a nonstop flight on a Sat that leaves here at 10:30 gets their around 2:00 and we leave on a Mon at 11:30 and get back here around 1:00 also nonstop. for those prices

That's awesome!

Welcome home, Bernadette! Sounds like you had a great time with Emma! :)

I have decided no DVC for us this time around. I am going to call and talk to them this morning.

Elin, that looks like some serious rain!

Anne Marie - Good luck deciding on a December trip!

Don't think of it as "this time around", but continue to actively watch and find information. I think you will find it much less stressful and you will know when the time is right. :goodvibes

Tammi - I hope you didn't have to scramble around too much this morning. One of my HS students said he was on his bus on the way to school when the bus driver got the call that the schools were closed. It was almost 7:00! :confused3

How is your basement????

Our crawl space is full and the water is coming up into the well where the access door is. The river is so high I can see it over the railing of the Chatham Bridge and part of Ferry Road is flooded out (near the kids' elementary school).

:wizard: That it stops raining and the water receeds quickly.

Yesterday we made it to almost 80 degrees, today will be at least 70 (beautiful weather to walk in) and tomorrow?? Well.....it's supposed to snow!!:scared1: and stick:scared1:

Jim used some birthday money and took us to a lovely supper just the 4 of us!! :goodvibes This was after my grandma had my mom so mad that she didn't even want to be next to her...didn't want pictures. My grandma had stated that SHE was the only mother at the brunch....ummm there were 4 more of us there. She was in fine form yesterday.

We went and saw Iron Man yesterday and the girls saw Speed Racer the day before...both said it was time for a chick flick!!:rotfl:

I'm sorry that your grandmother was in "fine" form. I know that it is none of my business...but...if things don't work out on your house will you have to live with the Grandparents again? I know that wasn't the best situation last time.

It was a productive morning. Colby's IEP is in place. He should begin speech therapy as early as this week :cool1: She will have 2 weeks of therapy over the summer and start in right at the beginning of the school year.

We also closed on our mortgage refinance this morning. That is another thing off my worry list. Now if we can just finish the rennovations which I have been really good at avoiding the last few weeks. My plan is to finish up on Memorial Day weekend, leave a few weeks to prepare properly for our trip.

Chris got our lawn mowed and got the bike rack welded properly on the camper. We are looking for a cap for the truck. It is really hard to go anywhere with the truck if we need to take anything with us. Any bad weather and we are out of luck.

So we've had no spring to speak of, think we will have a summer? :confused3

Yes, you have been productive! :thumbsup2

no way no how!! We will go back to apt. living.

There were so many things this weekend that reminded us why we can not go back to their house. I am also wondering how long they will be able to live independently.

This conversation is just cracking me up, for some reason! :rotfl2:
We are a funny bunch aren't we? :teeth:

Very productive! Everything will fall into place and you'll have plenty of time to prepare for your trip!

Hope I'm on your list too. Hope you still have those old planning DVD's as I didn't get them back yet.

Yes. I finally found a box the right size to mail to you. They are in there. Now, I just have to get to the post office while they are open.

OK. So I lied. It IS DVC for us this time around. :rolleyes1

Kristine suggested yesterday that I call Disney because there are some good incentives. I thought paying less per point would be better than the incentives, but on a whim I did call Disney after I cancelled the deal with Timeshare Store.

Turns out if we buy now we get 160 points NOW, and another 160 in December. Turns out we qualify for preferred financing through Disney. Turns out we can use our points for our August trip (our guide is holding a ressie at OKW for us) and get back the $1200 deposit I already paid. Turns out the refund will go on my Disney Visa, and I can put our down payment on the Disney Visa with 0% APR for 6 months. See how well this is all working?

The biggest problem is SSR or AKV? The incentives for SSR are better, but we LOVE AKL. So after hemming and hawing we have chosen AKV. I am just waiting for the guide to call me back so I can pay the down payment!

Told ya so...:goodvibes:rotfl2:

That's what I was trying to explain to you in my convoluted way...

I think AKV is a great choice for you!!

CONGRATS!!!

turns out it's a great thing my kid is a teacher's pet...she was caught texting in class and got her phone taken away from her....for a half hour:headache: Now normally I would be all for it being taken away for a very long time...but I need to use that phone tomorrow and Wednesday for work. :rolleyes1

I managed to hobble out of the house and buy a new washer & dryer...I have no clue how...but I spent more on these 2 appliances than I did buying a car for Jonathan :confused3

This back pain is getting old quick...I couldn't even put my own socks on...
