and tasty too. We had some when we took Kathrin to Boston in February/March. I am amazed at how these things bloom and make a fine cup of tea!

They look so cool! I think I need to save that site to my favorites! My mother isn't a big tea drinker or I'd send her some late to go along with the photo album that is going to arrive late. Hmmm...maybe I could send some to myself for my birthday. Wouldn't dh be surprised! :rotfl:

Grrrr. DH is a bonehead.

DS said one of his friends might NOT be going to Six Flags. OK. So then DH had a chat with him about what will happen if none of his friends end up going. Obviously going to Six Flags by yourself would be pretty dull! I was thinking we had almost talked him out of going.
So DH says if none of DS's friends are going, DH will go and keep him company! :headache: No, no, no! I do not want to shell out over $100 for the 2 of them to go to Six Flags when we are leaving for Disney in 12 weeks!

DS just called (he is on his way to the orthodontist to get his retainers) and now his really GOOD friend says he might NOT be going, either. DS only knows ONE kid who has actually turned in his money & permission slip, and that kid isn't really a good friend, he is just a kid DS has some classes with. So I'm thinking DS won't want to go, but he pops out with "But Dad said he'll come along to keep me company!" :sad2:

The deadline to turn the money in is Monday. I guess I need to call or e-mail the moms of the 2 kids who "might" go and try to get a straight answer from them so I will know if I should send the permission slip back with DS on Monday.
Sounds like good father/son bonding time. :thumbsup2 Maybe you could make this DH's father's day present.

Wow! I hadn't heard about the storms until I came on here. I'm so glad that you and Tammi weren't hit.
Thanks, Beth. And everyone else. It's scary when I think about how it very easily could have been us.

DH wants a tripod for Father's Day.
If they want to bond I think they should bond at the members-only breakfast at the zoo, which is what we were originally going to do that day.

Hi, DDA!

I am still about 10 pages behind, but just wanted to wish everyone a good Friday!

Tia - congrats on the new job, and the new car! Wow - what generosity! Stuff like that renews my faith in the human race. :goodvibes

Anne Marie - I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about the GF. I feel about that place like you feel about the BC - all our trips have just been extra special there, and we have always had such fantastic CM experiences!

Tammi and Elin - I was so relieved to see that you guys weren't some of the ones hurt by the storms. I tell you, I am ready for severe weather season to be over! It just seems to be really bad this year.

Elizabeth - lots of :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for your mom!! Let us know how it goes!

Anne Marie - any word on what your p/t CM benefits will be, now that Disney bought back TDS? I would seriously consider doing something there if I could, if the discount was great enough. (It probably wouldn't work out schedule-wise, but it's something to ponder...)

Theresa - been thinking/praying for your family a lot. Lots of   :wizard: :wizard: - this, too, shall pass, and you'll still have your family, no matter what roof you're under. Please let us know if there is anything we can do. Good luck with the b-day celebrations this weekend!

Deb - yay for good shifts this weekend! I hope the lacrosse games are fun, too! :wizard:

it's all prepackaged stuff:

bags of:

chips
pretzels
pop corn

cotton candy
rice krispy treats

water
soda

this is all I can remember off the top of my head

That stinks. It sounds like I will need to make dessert to go with Dinner on the 4th. We are making shish ka bobs for dinner. We'll have beef, chicken, ham and turkey cubed and marinated with potatoes, fruits and vegetables. Each person can make their own. Maybe I'll do a crock pot dessert. We'll probably do a big breakfast since some will be coming over from Pop. Then we'll do the golf cart parade. From there we hope to have the guys do their NASCAR ride alongs. Back to the Fort for BBQ, swimming and FW fun. We have to be at the CR at 7:30 PM for the cruise. It sounds like a full day, but if all goes smoothly we should have lots of down time.

Look what the Mother's Day Fairy just delivered! These are teas!!! From this company... http://fullbloomtea.com/index.html

My mom has her oncology appt. this afternoon. If anyone has some spare PD or good thoughts or prayers or whatever to toss her way it would be appreciated! :goodvibes Her name is Mary.

I just received this photo, no message:

It looks like Emma met her hero

I have a few little hints for decoupage...waxed paper, not newspaper! A little more patience than I have. Don't try to do projects last minute! :rotfl:

These gifts will probably also arrive late! I'm going to be known for that soon...

Hallelujah! They don't have to testify. It is OVER!!!!! The person pled guilty. The only thing left will be the sentencing in a couple of months.

Thank you all for the prayers and pixiedust! Once again the DDA magic has helped.

Terrific news!

Is today over yet? It has just been a crazy busy day. I've got about 30 min until Terra and I need to leave to go meet with the nanny family. I'm trying to figure out how to relax and calm myself between now and then as I'm feeling a little high strung. Somehow I'm thinking the margarita stuff in the fridge isn't the way to go just before finalizing nanny-job arrangements. ;) :rotfl: Hmmm, we do have Thin Mints...maybe I'll go that route or make some chocolate oatmeal drop cookies. ::yes:: I think we have a winner! Catch you all later tonight or in the morning.

I'm glad you are feeling better about the job after your meeting yesterday.

Colby is all set for kindergarten. I saw one of the para's at the restaurant tonight and she was telling me that Colby was very comfortable without Mom in the room. He followed instructions very well and showed no anxiety at all. I can't believe that my baby will be starting K in just a few months.

After the K screening we picked up the older boys and took Hunter to get his new glasses. They look great on him :thumbsup2 Then off to Borders to pick up a book that I had ordered. From there it was off to my Mom's as I had to go to work. So all in all it was a busy day.

Congrats to Colby!

It's wonderful that they finally know who did it. But poor Donna has to live it all over again. :wizard: for her.

Well said, so I'll second this. PD for Donna!

I need to get a move on here too. I am headed to Richmond to bring a load home from college. Bob and I will go back tomorrow morning and bring the rest of the stuff home (along with Kristin). I am hoping the rains hold off while we need to load things into the car. Talk to you all later!

I hope the weather holds off tomorrow and everything goes as well as it did today.

I need to get things done around here today. The boys have their very first Lacrosse game at 5:30 PM. Of course I had the offer to work tonight and I rarely get offered weekend shifts, but I turned it down to watch the boys. Later last night my boss pulled me aside and said he was moving me from bussing on Saturday night to waitstaff. That will be a huge night as many people go out for Mother's Day on Saturday night. I also have a double on Sunday so hopefully this will be a big money weekend and contribute to our trip fund :wizard: Now if the rain holds off for the games it will be a great weekend.

Good luck to the boys on the games -- hope the weather holds off.

How cute!

Don't worry about the gifts being late. It's the thought that counts, and I'm sure they'll love them.

The boys had Mayfest at school today, so I volunteered this morning, and now am working from home while Jake, his friend that is spending the night, and Andrew play. It's hot here -- almost 90 and sunny. I got a headache just standing out on the field for a couple of hours. Of course, it couldn't have helped my allergies, but better that then feel guilty that I wasn't there. Andrew had a great game last night with his rec team -- why doesn't he have that kind of confidence with his tournament team! Jake has a game tonight. Two soccer games tomorrow, baseball lessons and haircuts for the boys, and a pedicure for me, then we're off to watch the Texas Rangers play baseball.

Have a great weekend everyone! :)

Well, I just tried my hand at decoupage on some journals that I was planning on using as gifts. It's the first time I've done this, and I can't decide whether they look good enough to give or not. The paper and stickers were nice and flat before I put the top coat of Modge Podge on, and then it bubbled some. I'm more critical of my own work than other people are, so maybe they are good enough. They certainly don't look professional, but the thought was there.

Anyone have any Modge Podge hints for the future...if I ever convince myself to try this again?

No ideas for you. I have been wanting to try this myself. I got the supplies for Girl Scout camp last summer and we didn't do them the week I was there. My co-counselor did it the second week instead. I got the extra supplies back (because I paid for them in the first place). I want to do some clipboards.

At least you get them presents. There are worse things. Like buying a Christmas present and forgetting to give it to someone for 4 years. :confused3 I found an ornament I bought for my sister and never gave to her. I brought it down with me this trip.

Oh, I am infamous for buying gifts that are never actually given as well. (Well, maybe not infamous, since most people don't know about it...it is a running joke in the immediate family, though). For example, I still have a little sundress that I bought for my niece when she was born almost 5 years ago. I also bought a few things for Amy's Matty when he was born that I just found the other day. It's something about packaging it up and getting it to the post office, I think. I should stick with gift cards and checks that can be mailed inside a card. :rotfl:

I'm glad to hear that I am not alone!

:lmao: Exactly the issue for me. It's the getting it packaged up and into the post office. I still have some things that I'm supposed to mail Tammi, Deb, Amy, and Elizabeth. There might be more but I can't remember. I have gotten them out several times but don't have the right size boxes and keep forgetting to get the right packaging. I really have no excuse for Amy's because it would fit in a regular envelope.

How lucky for you that Amy is having another boy soon! :rotfl2:

I pulled out the Mother's Day cards I never sent last year and put them in the mail to my mom yesterday. :rolleyes1
