What do you need help with? Anything I can do from here?

It's been that kind of morning that your offer just sent me into tears.

It will come together I just feel bad for Cassidy as this is a big birthday and it's just not working out to be all that special.

I think it's probably about time to 'fess up to what has been going on in my house the last few months.

Through some financial mistakes and the downward spiral of the economy...we are in danger of losing our home. We also have been struggling in our physical and mental well being. Factor in job stress (finding a second one for at least one of us, Jim finally did in early April, being unhappy), regular old teenage issues.

We told the girls last week and they took it amazingly well....I keep reminding them (and myself) that although we love our house...it isn't a family member and we will survive this whichever way it goes.

You all have been my shelter in the storm and I love, love all of you for it.

Theresa,

Bless your heart, you didn't have to fess up!!! But we love you for being able to come to us with this overwhelming thing happening to you and your family.

Having been in the same situation years ago, regarding losing the home, I can so sympathize what you are going thru. Luckily we were able to overcome the problem, but it sure was a tough road. I remember even having to go to some office downtown and answer a lot of embarassing questions. It was not a fun time.

  :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Poor thing.
Leslie came home from school just crying. Apparently, she jumped off the top of a slide on the playground and landed wrong on her foot.

Mary just sits by her, patting her hand, and rubbing her head. She keeps saying, "my poor twinnie, my poor twinnie".
:goodvibes

:wizard:

Glynis - I hope Leslie is doing better today and that it is not broken. :wizard: I'm glad you called the school and addressed the no notification issue.

Theresa -  You poor thing. Please let us know if there is ANYTHING that we can do.

Theresa -- I'm so sorry! With the economy the way it is, this is becoming more common. Hang in there and know we're sending hugs, PD and prayers your way!

Glynis -- poor Leslie! I hope that it's just a bad sprain. PD and prayers to her!

I just got back from a meeting for 5th grade parents about the differences in middle school next year. I'm not looking forward to telling Andrew he has to wear dress shoes.

Oh, Theresa... you poor things! The stress of this as well as your job situation must make for a nasty time overall. Remember, it is just a house. You and Jim and the girls make where you live your home. We learned that about 20 years ago when the economy and our lives were turned upside down because of the housing slump. You WILL make it through this. And the four of you will do it together. :grouphug:

Glynis - I hope Leslie is in less pain today and the doctor's report is a good one.

You know I'm serious! I'll do whatever you want! Just let me know!

Mary has always been very dependent on Leslie. From the time they were infants, she could always sense when Leslie was not in the room, and she would fuss until we got them together. They shared a crib for the first year for that very reason, and we would usually find Mary snuggled right up to Leslie's head, her hand over Leslie's face in the morning.

I love the way you put this, Elin, so I'm going to ditto it!

I will add that I wish that where I live in Utah, and where you live in Colorado were a bit closer. I'd be there in a heartbeat, chocolate in hand.

ahhh that is so sweet!!:lovestruc

I would find Cassidy and Abi that way a lot of mornings...snuggled together and intertwined.

Aw :lovestruc

That was actually why I had to have a c-section. They were snuggled together sideways, and neither one was willing to turn away from the other. And believe me, the doctor tried!

:scared1: oh poor baby :wizard: that its not broken. I know all about sprains unfortunately

Glynis - I hope Leslie is doing better today and that it is not broken. :wizard: I'm glad you called the school and addressed the no notification issue.

Theresa - I am sorry! I hope you guys can find a way to keep the house!

I just got back from a meeting for 5th grade parents about the differences in middle school next year. I'm not looking forward to telling Andrew he has to wear dress shoes.

DS would NOT be pleased if he had to wear dress shoes! :scared: He hates the shoes he has to wear for band concerts. They are ugly, but I wasn't going to buy expensive shoes knowing he would only wear them twice.
The expensive shoes were the Keens I bought that he won't wear because some kids teased him about them. :headache:

I bought a lock for my laptop at Staples today! It was on clearance for $5.00!! Now I just have to figure out WHAT to lock it to at AKL.

I went to the mall to get a baby gift for Dadboss's boss. Dillard's has 30% off the clearance price. Macy's has the 20% Friends & Family coupon that covers brands normally excluded. They are also still having Clinique Bonus.

I saw a woman walking to her car in what I suspect were stolen jeans! :scared1: They still had a BIG old tag on them. She was talking on the phone and her shirt had pulled up on the side where the tag was. That tag HAD to be poking her because it was stapled over the waistband in the back. She wasn't carrying a bag so she didn't buy them and wear them out of the store unless she went into the store in her panties. Very strange.

Don't forget it's $.31 scoop night at Baskin Robbins. Limit 10 scoops per person. Really. That's what the e-mail said.

Does anyone remember making May Day baskets and leaving them on people's doorknobs? My mom used to do that with us when we were little. She'd make little "baskets" out of paper cups and ribbons, we'd get up really early on May 1, pick a bunch of flowers to fill the baskets. Then we'd hang them on our neighbor's doors, ring the doorbell and run! It was always so fun!

Later in the day, my father's students from the theater department would set up a maypole on the campus quad, there would be dancing, a picnic, and just a bunch of fun! What memories!

Yes, I did that at least one year. My friends and I made them.

Yesterday was quite a day! I'm just glad it's over, and I don't have to do anything today!!!

Leslie came home from school just crying. Apparently, she jumped off the top of a slide on the playground and landed wrong on her foot. She was in a lot of pain, but I never got a call from her teacher or the school. They just propped her foot up and put ice on it. She had to hop all the way from the bus stop to our house. If I'd known, I'd have gone with the wagon to pick her up! Anyway, her foot was black, and bruised and a bit swollen. I gave her aspirin, iced her foot and propped it up. 2 hours later, she was still screaming and couldn't put any weight on it at all. So, I took her to the instacare clinic where they x-rayed her foot. They found "an anomaly", so x-rayed her other foot to compare. They think it might be fractured, but can't really read the x-rays, so have sent them off to the hospital to be read (I should hear from them this morning). In the meantime, they've splinted her foot, and she has to stay off it. Poor little thing.

I just hate to see one of my babies in pain! I'm hoping that the call will come that it's not broken, but sprained really badly. I'd hate for her to start the summer off with a cast! Oh well, at least she gets to act the princess of the palace around the other kids. They are all feeling so sorry for her that she doesn't have to lift a finger for herself. Katie is carrying her all over the place, and Mary just sits by her, patting her hand, and rubbing her head. She keeps saying, "my poor twinnie, my poor twinnie", and Jacob gets her snacks and drinks. I don't think she'll ever want to be "normal" again.

Katie gets to go the Utah Symphony today! I'm so excited for her! She started playing the violin 2 years ago, and this is the first professional concert she has attended! I can't wait to hear how she liked it!

Well, that's what's going on here, lately. I'm going to go shower quickly, and then relax for a while. Got to finish reading "The Tenderness of Wolves" for book club tomorrow. Wish me luck!

I've heard that sometimes it is better to be broken because once it heals, it's healed. It took many, many years for my sprained ankle to be strong enough. One little twist the wrong way and it was sprained again. I probably spent 2 out of my 4 years of high school with a bandage on my ankle.
