Aidan update:

May 07, 2008 at 10:04 PM CDT
Well they moved up Aidan's Mapping Date. He gets his Cochlears Activated TOMORROW morning. On Monday Naomi went in to pick up the equipment and to her and the Audiologist's surprise they received confirmation that it is going to work. She didn't even bring a camera. Usually no response is registered on the first visit so we scheduled it while I was out of town (the only time available), but once again my Son surprises all. Each time they played a tone, he would turn, look at Naomi and Giggle. 21 of the 22 channels are working which is better then normal(so they say), and they can redirect that missing one. We will have one tomorrow and were hoping for the same when they fully begin mapping. He's not a fan of the head piece and likes to pull it off rather quickly but I hope he learns soon that sound works when it's on and not when it's off. We are going to record his mapping and hopefully will upload to the internet once I figure out how. Till then "Hears" to a succesfull mapping...

Good morning all!
Im hoping that after today i get to spend more time online chatting--this week has been so crazy busy that i have been exhausted when i get home!
have a great day!!
16 more days til alaska :)

Morning DDA! Did everyone get the Airtran $25 off coupon? I doubt that I'll be able to use it by January 6th - so if anyone is buying flights before Mother's Day I can send you my codes. :teeth:

Good Morning, DDA! I finished the scrapbook of our Niagara Falls trip for my mom's Mother's Day gift. I was up until about 3:30 am, but it is done! I hope it will make it there in time if I get it to the post office today after work. I don't have a card made yet, but...

I think that the moms yesterday appreciated the Mother's Day Tea at preschool. The kids were so cute. They had been singing loudly every time we practiced the songs, but once they saw all those people in the room, they could barely sing. That was the 4-5 year old group. We'll see how the 3-4 year olds do today. It was a ton of work, but I think it was worth it. We are talking about doing a Valentine's Tea next year, because we have so many events in April and May.

I need to go make a few more cookies quickly. They ate more than I thought yesterday.

I did it. I went bathing suit shopping yesterday. I knew that if I didn't go now, I'd never go until the season is over and I would never find anything that fits. I tried on 23 suits/tankinis. Two looked good. I bought both. I still can't get over how expensive suits are now.
Here's one (in blue) and the other in the red/black mix. I'm glad this is over.

Good morning, DDA!! Seems like today may be a little crazy with babysitting all day, MOPS this morning, Dr appt this afternoon, maybe lunch with my mom and sisters in between, then meeting with the work family tonight. Guess maybe I won't be around much after all. Hmmm..when am I going to do that computer work I planned to do today. :confused3 Oh well, guess that's for tomorrow after all cause there's just too much of it to accomplish with Keira running around here today.

Good morning, DDA!

Elin - Feel better soon!

Beth - I hope the program goes well!

Chanon - Yay for bathing suits!

Thanks for the update on Aidan! How exciting for him to be able to hear! :goodvibes

Have a great day, all! :)

Cute suits, Chanon!

Glad the tea went well, Beth. Sounds like moving it next year would work well. Is 3 days next year a cut back? Are you currently 5? If so, I'll bet that goes a long way to helping your schedule lighten up.

Wow, Jen! Your cruise is really getting close! How did that happen? Are you ready, packing, etc?

Wow, That is a really nice car. I can't believe that they just gave it to you. You have some wonderful friends there :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone! We truly were blessed. The inside has some wear just from age, but outside it looks good as new. Seems to have no mechanical issues and handled the rain like a dream The crazy part is I had never met them before that night. My parents have been in their class for several years, but it was my first time meeting them. I think that's the part that stunned Phil so much. We were basically strangers to them and yet they were so generous to us. Terra is making them a card and I'm baking something to take to them with a note on Sunday. It won't be much in comparison, but I want to do something at least.

Well, I'd better get to the shower before Keira is dropped off. Catch you all later! Have a wonderful Thursday and I hope that it is drier and sunnier than ours. :umbrella:

Oh yeah, our Disney Store went to liquidation this week. :( I went in yesterday when I picked up Phil to ask about the rumors that at least one store would stay open. Unfortunately, it wasn't true. All of the St. Louis stores are closing. I told Terra about it and I thought she was going to cry. "Where will I get my Disney monies then?!?!" Luckily, I think she was reassured enough that she could put regular monies in her WDW Bank and it would work for the trip too. :goodvibes

Yes, I work all 5 days this year. Supposedly, they are only mornings, but we end up being there so much later with all the prep work we have. The 3's have class on Tuesday/Thursday, and the 4's have class Monday/Wednesday/Friday. My problem is that I also run a Two's Time class on Wednesdays, so we have someone else coming into the Wednesday 4's class. It really isn't working out. I don't want to give up Two's Time, so I decided to give up the 3-day class. The only reason that I even took the 3-day class is because our other teacher quit at the very last minute last Fall.

I am really going to miss it in some ways, but I think it will make life much easier to have Mondays and Fridays to myself (and my house!).

:sad2: I am sorry for you and Terra! Our Disney Store closed a couple of years ago, and the closest one is more than an hour and a half away. I do miss it!

Please keep my sister, niece & nephew in your prayers this afternoon.

I'm sure you made a lot of mom's happy. I remember watching my kids in their preschool 'shows'. It would bring tears to my eyes seeing all those little ones singing their hearts out. We have "Muffins with Mom" tomorrow morning at my kids' school, to celebrate Mother's Day.

Congrats on getting the scrapbook done. I'm sure you're mom will love it!

23! :faint: That's what I hate about shopping. But at least you got something! They are very pretty.
