Amazing pics, Theresa!!! What zoo are they from?

The Denver Zoo:lovestruc

the upclose orangataun is Sally's significant other, Robin. He is actually a hybrid....they didn't realize there were two different types when his parents bred.

Theresa, great pictures. As you can tell I am partial to the primates. :lovestruc

right now so is Abi. I have ordered her Jane Goodall's first book for her birthday. She is torn between working with primates and ocean animals.

Which are more in danger of becoming extinct? I would want to help them the most.

Has Anne Marie left yet? I hope I didn't miss her.

Not yet...It's been crazy busy here & it's cutting into my DISing!!!

We just got home from Katie's music concert. She played her violin & sang in the chorus..It was long as there were several performances from different groups..Daniel was falling asleep in the chair. It was chaos getting out of there. Anyway, I am home & pooped. Tomorrow I am putting some last minute things in the suitcase, going to turn our "coin jar" into some paper cash, get a manicure/pedicure, clean the house & print my boarding passes.

By the way,
I got the results from my breast MRI & I got the "all clear"..no mammo needed until Jan 2009!:cool1:

depends on the animal. Primates are in danger because of human encroachment and a lot of ocean animals are in danger because of the global warming cycle...they seem to be adapting better.

I swear my kid is making me smarter;)

I got this in my email today..thought it was funny...

LIPSTICK IN SCHOOL - PRICELESS

According to a news report, a certain school in Garden City, MI was recently faced with a unique problem.

A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the wash room. That was fine, but after they put on their
lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints.

Every night, the maintenance man would remove them and the next day the girls would put them back. Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. He called all the girls to the washroom and met them there with the maintenance man. He explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night. To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, he asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required. He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it.

Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror.

THE MORAL OF THIS STORY..

There are teachers, and then there are Educators.
:lmao:

Ok now off to bed!

Hi, everyone. I'm checking in. Won't be able to do much chatting for a few more days, but wanted to see how everyone is doing. I don't stand a chance of catching up, so could someone do a recap for me?

Just wanted to let y'all know that our niece, Carissa, who's been in and out of the hospital for the last 2 months, passed away on Sunday. It's been a really sad time, and likely to remain so for some time. She was only 22. She had Down's Syndrome, and had been aspirating her food and liquid for her entire life. I guess it's fairly common in Down's kids, and that indirectly led to her death. The family is just devastated! She was our ray of sunshine, and she will be missed. We are working on the funeral now. I've been asked to play the prelude and postlude music, plus accompany Alan in singing "Nearer My God To Thee" during the service. This is a really tough one.

The funeral will be on Tuesday morning. Wish us all luck that we can get through this. My SIL is really struggling. It's not the natural order of things to have a child die before you do.

I'm sending pixie dust to all of you! I miss chatting with you on a daily basis. Hopefully, life will calm down, soon, and I can come back home!

 to all of you. I will keep your family in my prayers. That is so sad.
