DDA Chapter 6

sounds like a delightful way to spend a day, Theresa! ;)

There were 2 other boys staying as well. The boys all went for a walk & did not tell the mother. She called her son on his cell to find out where he was & then said everyone had to go home & he was grounded. I understand being worried & Garrett knows how I am about knowing where he is. So I do understand her being upset, I just do not agree with her sending the boys home. I asked Garrett what would have happened if I was not home & he said he would have walked. I guarantee you if this would have happened, the mother would have heard from me.

Maybe I am just to easy going with Riley & Garrett. I have gotten upset with them plenty of times when friends have stayed over, but I have never sent anyone home.

Oh well I have both my babies home now :goodvibes Riley is asleep, the game today wiped him out & Garrett is eating supper. Yep, he had not eaten yet :sad2: I told him to never ask to stay there again & he said no problem.

Well that stinks, and yes I think it is kind of rude. I wonder what the kid did.

Time for bed here, I think. See you all in the morning. Sleep tight, everyone! :)

so she punishes everyone? :confused3 makes no sense to me either!

I gotta agree with everyone else...unless ALL of the kids were in the doing the deed punishment would start the next day.

I forgot to tell you guys some great news! My coworker with colon cancer had surgery and it is stage 1 and they don't even think they need to do chemo. :woohoo:

Thanks so much for all your prayers for her!:grouphug:

Great news!! :cool1:

Tammi - I really need a dress or something for Kristin's graduation... maybe we ought to go shopping together.

I like to shop, you know. :rolleyes1

I just received a call from Garrett. He was staying over at a friends. Well apparently the friend did something & his mother grounded him & said everyone had to go home. Maybe I am wrong, but this really ticks me off. What if I would not have been home? I meean unless it was something really horrible, she could have waited till tomorrow. But then that is just me, maybe I am wrong. I told Garrett she should be giving everyone a ride home lol

Be back in a bit!

Hmm. Maybe the mom just wanted to embarrass her son and really get her point across, so she wasn't thinking about the hassle she was causing the other parents. :confused3 I am kind of impressed that she actually DID send the other boys home instead of just threatening and then backing down.
I do think maybe it is a good idea not to have any overnight visits to that home in the future! ;)

I know it was not at the time, but this is to funny :lmao:

Priceless, just priceless!

Kids really know how to get to you, huh?

My neighbor had her first child at 40. Anna is almost 3 now, and Deborah asked her to help clean up her toys. Anna just looked at her mom and went to her room, shut the door and was very quiet. Deborah followed her into her room and saw her sitting on her "naughty chair." She asked Anna why she wasn't helping pick up her toys. Anna's response? "I can't. I'm in time out." "Who put you in time out?" Deborah asks. "I did, because I'm not helping pick up my toys." Deborah was stunned! She couldn't believe that a 2 and a half year old would be able to manipulate the situation that way. I cracked up and told her to give it a couple more years. Then she'd really see what Anna is capable of!

Guess what babies just got a package?! (Addressed specifically to them, which I got a kick out of!) Inside was an adorable outfit set (lots of mix & match pieces) that said "I'm the Little Miracle that Came True" :cloud9:

And......

The girls' first custom outfits! princess: princess: How cute is this?!

The tag reads "Fun in the Sun with Pooh and Friends; HandMade original by the Old Vermonter" :teeth:

Thank you, Brooks family! :goodvibes

(So seriously... how much work is the actual sewing? Because I would LOVE the designing and the dressing.... but the in between stuff, I'm not so sure about. You all are going to have me hooked though! Well, I mean, if I could figure out how. Oh, and where to find a sewing machine :rotfl: )

I have to be honest here. I bought the outfits from a friend that made them. She had made one and I fell in love with it and begged her to make another. I had planned to make the girls something myself, but couldn't resist having it done for me :rolleyes1 The Old Vermonter does great work for awesome prices. She makes handmade sweaters and charges such low prices that I can't believe she covers her material costs. I usually find that making my own things costs more than buying premade, but you get EXACTLY what you want:thumbsup2 I'm glad that you like the outfits. I bought the little miracle pieces before I even knew that you were having girls. Those outfits were just meant to be :teeth:

Tell me this, though -- is it at all cost-effective, or is it just another expensive hobby like my photoshopping turned out to be? When I made a fleece blanket for my sister for Christmas, it turned out to be a HECK of a lot more expensive than just buying one! :faint:

It is often more expensive to make your own, but they are one of a kind (or maybe 2 of a kind :rolleyes1 )

Today has been the day from you know where. First, soccer game at 8. Nicholas played all 4 quarters and ran his little heart out. They lost, again. His team hasn't scored a goal yet, and their last game is Saturday. Then I went to the nursery to get some hanging baskets for my front porch. Then to the mall where I tried to find a dress. Have I told you I hate shopping. I went home empty handed. When I got home I found that Bob had started a load of laundry, trying to be helpful. I know I should be appreciative but laundry is one of those things that I'm very particular about. But it's neither here nor there because my washer decided to bite the dust, right before the spin cycle. Then we rushed out the door to drive the 53 miles to Washington, DC. The show started at 2 and we left here about 12:10. We didn't get 10 miles up 95 before the back-up started. There was an accident ahead, which created a 20 mile traffic jam. So we arrived at the theater about 2:15, and it had already started. The kids really enjoyed the show. So did I for that matter. We stopped at Olive Garden on the way home for dinner. Luckily that drive was much smoother.

So now, on top of the other 15 things that are on my to-do list, I have to buy a new washer. I have no idea how I'm going to get everything done by Saturday. Did you ever end up getting one, Elin?

Janet, which did you get again?

 Good liuck finding the best deal.

Absolutely!
and i just bought my new camera, so we will have tons of pictures!
We are deciding on our excursinos monday night--i cant wait..5 weeks seems like so far away, but i know its not!

When is your WDW trip? I don't think that you had set the dates last time I asked.

Has anyone else been redirected to a weird site when posting on here in the past few minutes????

I kept getting redirected and was beginning to wonder if I had caught a virus. The link that Elin posted wasn't valid by the time I saw it :confused3 I still don't know what happened.

Glynis. I'm sure you will perform brilliantly. I hope that the service goes as well as planned
