Thanks for all the well wishes for Sophie. Shes up eating toast & drinking Gatorade.

Happy Thursday, DDA!

Anne Marie and Glynis - so sorry to hear that some of your kiddos are feeling under the weather. Lots of :wizard: :wizard: that they're feeling better soon, and that no one else catches it!

Deb - sorry that the tips last night stunk. I have never understood people that don't tip - this is certainly not a new concept?! :confused3 If you don't want to pay for service, go find a drive-thru window! ;)

:wizard: :wizard: that tonight is much better. I meant to say that I loved all the shirts you made for the family!!!

Marci and Elizabeth - can you believe this weather?! I, for one, would love a snow day tomorrow! It's thundering right now, though.

Elin - good to hear that Kathrin is enjoying her new job and home! I hope your festival goes well, and that you and Kristin arrive safely back home. :wizard:

Karen - what wonderful remembrances of Shocker.

Tammi - loved the slide show! :thumbsup2 That was such a great time, and all the pics of you and Bob are wonderful. :goodvibes I have "Boo to You" stuck in my head now!

Chanon - great slide show from your trip as well! The Wynn rooms looked very different than I would have imagined them - so colorfull! Is the rest of the resort similar?

Stephanie and Terry - I bought tickets for Jonathan and I to go to MagicMeets as well! :yay: I can't believe it sold out in less than 48 hours! I am planning my July schedule around heading out there, and just hope we don't have to cancel. I think it will be so fun to attend, and I was almost a little shocked that Jonathan wanted to go, too. He wants to see if he can volunteer his photography skills for the day. :thumbsup2

Well, I need to get my nose back to the grindstone. I am so glad tomorrow is Friday!

That is so cool. :cool1: Cannot wait to see you. You will really enjoy meeting 500 close and personal friends who love Disney just as much as you do!!!!

I know they could use help in the photography department. It is amazing how many volunteers they need to keep everything running smoothly.

I am just hoping they will have the Segways for us to try out again. :woohoo:
We are going to stay at the hotel that Friday night.

Well, it is my turn with the Dumba$$ hat.

I have made a HUGE mistake in an EvilBay auction. DH wants these lenses for the Sony camera. Fine. I bid on one last night and it went higher than we wanted to pay. Fine. We have a bid on another one, no rush. Well, on a whim I bid on another lens from our watch list, then on another whim I upped the minimum bid. It is the WRONG thing and won't work on any of our cameras, and the amount I bid on it is WAY higher than what other identical ones are selling for. Not only will I win the damn thing, it will cost me a ton of money AND it is worthless to us.:sad2: I e-mailed the seller to beg for mercy, but I am not expecting it to go well.:guilty:

Oh yes it is!!!!! Love that music. I loved your pictures of the parade as mine did not come out that well. That was such a fun night!

Tammi - loved the slide show! :thumbsup2 That was such a great time, and all the pics of you and Bob are wonderful. :goodvibes I have "Boo to You" stuck in my head now!
Thank you! It was a fun night, as was the whole weekend. I love going with my kids, but it is so fun to go with adult friends as well. :goodvibes

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: that they let you retract the bid.

thanks deb for the comment about my family. the vet did the paw print im not sure if i said that. off to do pt be back later

Chanon - great slide show from your trip as well! The Wynn rooms looked very different than I would have imagined them - so colorfull! Is the rest of the resort similar?
I'm glad you asked! ;) I can go on and on about the resort, but I don't want to bore you all! :rotfl: So amuse me for a few moments!

The photos I showed you are from a Resort Room - it's basically their standard room with either a golf course view or a strip view (neither are guaranteed). The other room type on the resort side is the Panaramic View (guaranteed floors 50-60 on the resort side).
Then you have the Tower Rooms: Tower Room ($90 more than a standard resort room), Parlor Suite and a Salon Suite. The "rooms" are at 640 square feet; the suites start at 1240 square feet or higher. Two doubles or a king bed with sofa are the room options.
The difference (besides a base price increase of $90 and higher) in the rooms is that with the Tower you get a separate entrance, separate check in and separate elevators. You also get Line Passes - which allows you to cut in line at most of the resorts restaurants. The colors are totally DIFFERENT and more modern - chocolate wallpaper, chocolate with ivory swirled carpeting in the hallways (compared the the apricot color of the resort side) and the rooms have chocolate wallpaper with PLUSH ivory and chocolate swirled carpeting (the kind of carpeting that you could feel under your shoes and you really want to take your shoes off...) The decor is more modern - more metals and darker woods with pops of bold coloring. It's the same hotel/tower that all the rooms are in - it's just separated by a door in the hallway. Extremely smart of Steve Wynn. (He's also building a second hotel called Encore opening in December. Rooms here will start at 760 square feet - and these rooms already feel so huge!)
I'd spend the extra $90 a night just for the separate check in desk (took me 20 minutes to check in) and for the line pass if I planned on eating at the resort (the buffet lines were terrible at times, with a possible wait time of an hour and a half at peak eating times).
In case anyone is interested, a resort room on average starts at $239 just to give you an idea...

No word from the eBay seller. People on the Budget Board are telling me to just retract the bid and be done with it, but it really was MY stupid mistake.

Our weather is RAPIDLY tanking.
Princess finished gymnastics at 10:15 and it was pouring rain. The temp was about 40. It is now 12:50. The rain never did let up, but now it is frozen. So I guess technically it is sleet? The temp is about 36. Whatever it is that is falling, it is coming down in torrents. It is NOT snow.

Has anybody been following the threads about selling gold jewelry? I sold almost ALL of my "scrap" gold last summer and got almost nothing for it. Apparently now the price of gold is way up? I don't know if the place I took it was just a rip-off place or if the price really has changed that much. I do have one more gold herringbone chain I could get rid of, but I don't want to take it back to that same place.

I'm home for about an hour before I head off to job #2 of the day. I can not tell you how hard it was to serve pizza, slice after slice and to have congo bars right in front of me and to NOT eat a single bite. Dieting sucks. I did it though and came home to soup and a sandwich.

Colby helped serve pizza and ice cream for a little while before he had to head to class. He also got to eat lunch with one of his high school buddies. He was pretty happy to sit at the table with all the teenagers :goodvibes

Yesterday I had the day off so where do I end up????

The Disney Store!

I am starting to get things together for the cruise & I wanted to get the kids bathing suits before they are all gone. Yes it is only March but once they are gone thats it.:sad2: I got Daniel the cars trunks in 7/8 which are too big! He's going to be 9 in June & he needs a 5/6!!! I got him the swimtop(rashguard) which would be great since I always have them in tee shirts at the beach to prevent burning. I got Sophie the Sleeping Beauty bathing suit & swim top.

Sophie came home from school yesterday & while she was doing her homework said she didn't feel well. She took a 2 hour nap & then came downstairs & threw up all over the bathroom (& yes the lid was down (again!):scared: ) I was supposed to work today but called in as she is staying home. She is very chipper but looks like a sheet. She was up all night & I think we got 2-3 hrs of sleep. Poor Dana had a 6:30am breakfast meeting in the city

. I just hope he drinks enough coffee today!

I printed up the transfers for the kids surprise shirts but had no time to iron them on the shirts last evening. If I can get Sophie to nap then I can get the shirts done without the kids seeing them. I'll post pictures if I can get that done.

Have a wonderful day.

Poor Sophie! Here's hoping she's feeling better today!

I need to get to the Disney Store. Hopefully tomorrow! I'm looking for things for Easter baskets. I always get inspired there. And it's right next door to Bath and Body Works where I can always find something yummy for me!

My SIL has now made two recipes from the WFD thread, and they were both awesome. I highly suggest you guys visit that thread if you don't already. (Thanks again, Glynis, for the lime chicken. SIL made the warm lemon cake last night. I had a several spoonfuls, and that was very satisfying.)

The nice thing about the lemon cake, is that you can make it with different flavors of pudding and cake mix and get a different flavor! My favorite is the lemon, but we've also tried chocolate cake mix with devil's food flavor pudding, strawberry cake with cheesecake pudding, and spice cake with pumpkin pudding. All were very good!

Katie woke up fever free and decided to go to school. She will call if she starts feeling icky again, but she looked a ton better than last night. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her on the storytelling thing. If she can keep her cough under control for the 6 minutes her story takes, then she should be just fine!

It was nice to have a quiet house this morning! I spent my time doing laundry and dishes. Now the twins are home having lunch. Hopefully, they'll find something to do and keep each other occupied.

Dum dee dum dee dum.:rolleyes1

I am sitting here FREEZING and feeling sorry for myself. DH said there isn't a shop anywhere around here where they buy used camera equipment. Perfect. So I told him when the auction is over I will pay the guy for it, then tell him to just keep the stupid lens, we can't use it, and I don't want to have to pay to have it shipped. That made DH even madder. Well, WTH are we going to do with an incompatible lens if there isn't a shop to sell it to?:confused3 I say just let the seller keep the lens, I will pay him whatever I owe him, and I will promise to never, ever, ever bid on another eBay item as long as I live.:guilty:

Elizabeth you made an honest mistake, retract your bid. There is no reason to pay for something that you cannot use & I would not pay for it & let the seller keep it.

Good luck with your decision

The eBay retraction rules do not allow retractions for bids made by idiots. It was a legitimate bid, and eBay will know that if they investigate it. Retracting it is a violation of eBay policy unless the seller agrees to it.

You bid on the wrong item though & if the seller has any heart he/she should not have a problem with it.

I would rather let a bidder retract than take a chance of not getting paid(I know you said you would still pay for it).

I have had bids retracted before on my auctions & I have retracted a couple of bids myself on auctions that I have bid on.

Please don't beat yourself up over this & you are not an idiot!

Thanks, Janet. I was just trying to help DH. He has never bid on anything before, doesn't know the password to our account, doesn't know how to use PayPal, etc. Now he is acting like I never should have gotten involved and I have made a huge mess of things on purpose.

I have been all through the eBay site and my only option (in keeping with eBay policy) is to contact the seller and request that he cancel my bid. Which I did. He hasn't responded. So there you have it. I don't think I will retract the bid if I don't hear back from him because I don't have a legitimate reason to do it. I will just pay for the lens.

Is the entire April trip a surprise for the kids or just the WDW part?

I was very productive yesterday... I got our taxes done! :yay:
Congrats! I need to do ours!
