OK.
My mother just called. The surgeon she saw today is certain it is cancer. They did a biopsy, and they told her if it comes back negative they will do it again becasue they are convinced it is cancer. There is a 3 cm tumor.
She sees the oncologist next Wednesday. The surgeon she saw today said they will probably do a round of chemo first to try to shrink the tumor, then she will have a mastectomy.
I told her I will fly up for her surgery. She wants to put it off until school is out. I told her she will NOT put it off.
I don't know what else to say right now. I am so worried that she has let it go for too long.

 I'm so sorry! I know this is scary. I'm glad that you are not going to let her put it off anymore. You guys are in my prayers!

As a kid, I had trouble with V's, S's, and T's. My first, middle, and last names started with those three letters. It all sounded like H's. Hicki Hue Homas.

:rotfl: :rotfl: I'm sure it was aweful then, but it is a little funny sounding now.
Colby has some new strategies. He will say Colby which comes out Toby then say no it's C-O-L-B-Y and he spells it out :goodvibes

I found the perfect t-shirt design for Chris. It is by lemming_of_the_BDA.

Chris loved it. Has anyone seen a kitchensink design? Chris wants an "I ate the kitchensink" shirt. I haven't seen any great clipart that has motivated me. I wish someone would make him one :goodvibes

I'm so sorry. She should definitely take care of it immediately. 2 months is too long to wait. You can watch your sister since you're planning on going anyway.

Elizabeth, I'm so sorry to hear this :( You and your mother will be in my prayers!

I've been working away at my projects. Colby's room now looks more like a storage unit as we have put a lot of the kitchen and living room furniture in there. Now I will only need to cover a few big pieces when I sand and paint. I also took down the curtains from the great room 5 sets and those are washed. I have already done our bedroom curtains and the ones from Hunter's room. Nick's are in a pile to be washed. All of Hunter's old bedding is washed put away. I have ordered new bedding so he will have to live with sheets and a blanket for now. I've also dug out the drywall cracks, making them larger to accept the durabond repairs.

I have a dust allergy and this is making me itchy and my hands are so dry they are cracking. I keep applying ointment to them which helps. Tonight I even have a bit of a sore throat, which is definitely dust related. removing curtains and moving furniture kicks up a lot of dust :sad2:

To give you the whole story, I had two cousins that had trouble saying V's as well. One called me Bicky and the other called me Gicky. I had hearing problems as a child. So I could tell they weren't saying it right. One of them would say my name and I'd yell "My name isn't Gicky (or Bicky), my name is Hicky Hue Homas!" My parents always got a good laugh at my insistence on how to pronounce my name.

When I graduated from high school, dad wrote HHH on the envelope with my graduation card. It took me a couple of minutes to understand what it meant. When my aunts (dad's sisters) starting giggling, it hit me!

Thanks, everyone.
I just called my cousin. She said my sister can stay with them for the summer - they are just an hour from my mom and they have a guest room with a bathroom. Here my sister would be stuck in a corner of my living room. My mother said my sister might prefer to stay with my other sister (fine, whatever) but I don't see how that would be much better! Seems to me that staying with my cousin (whose DD is my sister's age) would be better for everyone!
I have no idea how long a course of chemo would be. If the chemo lasts until school is out then I can bring my sister back with me after the surgery. I just don't think she will be happy here because she won't be allowed to go anywhere or drive or anything else.

I think it is a little to much myself, The coach says his 1st priority is for the boys to have fun then 2cd is winning. I think it is the other way around ;)

Yikes! Too much! How is he supposed to keep up with his homework?

That sounds like a good plan. Does your mom have someone there who will be able to help take care of her, drive her to/from chemo? From what I understand, chemo can really take a toll.

Elizabeth I am so sorry to hear this. You are right, she should not put it off, have this taken care of as soon as possible. Prayers for your mother & for you.

OK.

My aunt is there, but her plate is pretty full with her disabled DD and her 2 great-grandbabies. I have several cousins and an uncle there, too. I guess we'll see what the oncologist says about the duration of treatment. My sister who lives here may or may not be working (I don't keep track) so if her MIL will keep her babies she might be able to go up for a week or so. Maybe some of the cousins who aren't very useful on a general basis will pitch in when they hear what the situation is.

Yes it does :guilty:

Some pictures from Easter at my Grandma's

And no my brother has never been on a DCL Transatlantic cruise. We both got DCL Transatlantic shirts last September as they were on clearance. I was surprised to get embroidered Disney shirts for about $5 a piece.

Night all. My goal for tomorrow is to finish and mail the camp application. It is about half done. I have a hard time promoting my own skills and achievements, so job applications/questionnaires are not easy.

Becky - thanks for sharing the pictures. You are looking great!

Elizabeth - :wizard: and prayers for you all.

Goodnight everyone.
