Oh, I think it looks like so much fun! Can you imagine being up there at night, with the piano playing (on a distant crane :rotfl: )?!

It would have to be a nice evening, of course, but I'd totally be there!

I can guarantee that it would NOT be me on that piano! :rotfl:

I am terrified of heights....and I can hear my girls playing the piano just fine on terra firma THANKS!!:lmao:

Robyn - One of the phrases that circulates through the nanny community is "Nannies don't quit because of the kids, they quit because of the parents." A lot of the time parents make our jobs MUCH harder, and sometimes it just isn't worth it anymore. I really hope you and Eric can sit down and figure something out!

DH just called and said there is a baby shower for his immediate supervisor today! He was off the past 2 days and OBVIOUSLY he missed something. He said back at Christmas that she and her partner were planning to adopt a baby, so it appears that they have found one! I get mad at him because he won't ever ask her anything about her personal life. I see it as being interested and caring, he sees it as being inappropriate and nosey. So anyway, I want to know ALL about the baby and I am sure he won't ask. I even told him I would be more than happy to print out a little certificate for a few hours of babysitting to give to them. The thing is, he doesn't even know what area they live in or if they have family in town to help with the baby! And he would NEVER go down the path of asking how accepting their families are and so forth. Hopefully he will get over being so bull-headed about talking to her. I don't think she would feel he was intruding, I think she might appreciate him asking!

I think most of the problems with the grandmother stem from her resenting the fact that she pays for the grandkids to be here. But her comment was in regards to vacation. She told Eric that her and her DH were taking both families on vacation this summer for a week. Eric commented that I will enjoy my easy week then. She replied "Well all Robyn does is take vacation. She had off all last summer." :sad2: Excuse me- I had a baby- I did not take a vacation. And it's not like they paid me for it. She is bitter about us going to WDW because it was not convenient for them. And of course me shutting down last Thursday put her over the edge. But it's funny how her DH has the same crud I had and he's been off work all week. Do I look like I care? Eric has had enough. But until I find something I'll just bide my time and bite my tongue.

The other problem is that one of the boys has been without diapers for 10 days. I remind them when I get low on my supply and lo and behold 10 days passed before they could remember to bring them (Eric emailed the grandmother finally and dad came knocking at my door Wednesday. That was with constant reminders that I needed them. The cousin wears the same size diapers so I had them and they knew that. I just am worn down with their stupidity.

Thank you! :goodvibes

That's called pregnancy brain. You were supposed to start using that excuse 20 weeks ago. :teeth:

After sleeping most of the day yesterday, he seems much better this morning. I was happy his supervisor encouraged him to take today off. Of course, I was saying the same thing, but apparently supervisors have more influence than wives. ;)

We all went outside for a bit to play in the snow, shovel, and find the cars. I'll try to post some pictures later.

Oh, and his new computer just got delivered, so I'm sure he's going to have plenty of energy to play with that!

:rotfl:

Actually, if all goes well, Jennifer should have the easiest babysitting gig ever...my appointment is at naptime!

Thanks. :goodvibes #3 better be easier than #2 or any thoughts of "evening things out" will be thrown out the window! :rotfl:

Thank you! :goodvibes

You all are mean! :lmao:

Thanks for luck! :goodvibes I think I might drink a nice Coke before my appointment to jolt the baby a little. ;)

Glad to hear Kevin is feeling better. Want to have another one for me too?!? I've heard orange juice and a candy bar work wonders for getting that baby active.

You guys crack me up! As Amy mentioned, supposedly her children will be sleeping when I'm there. I just don't want Kevin around if he's still sick! ;)

Besides... you forget that I work with about 25 kids a day, many of which have behavioral diagnoses. I can handle two ;)

Oh, trust me. I always thought it was just an excuse, but I'm thinking it's more medical than I ever gave you credit for. When I called to ask a question about our car a few weeks ago, I couldn't remember my social security number.... for 2 days! :faint:

This from the girl who learned every family members SSNs at age 8, just for fun. I could give the lady on the other end of the phone my moms, my dads, my husbands or my sisters, but couldn't remember mine if my life depended on it! :rotfl:

Pregnancy brain does suck! And sadly mine still hasn't returned.

Hope everyone is staying safe & warm today. My office closed at noon so I'm heading home soon before the weather gets any worse.

I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt & uncle.:wizard:

And :wizard: and:hug: for you too! Sounds like today isn't too bad.:thumbsup2

Glad the CD's arrived. Thanks for kind thoughts on Lizzy.

I don't think so! The thing is she's my artist. If she drew it from sight it would have been better that is why I'm convinced it is a copy of some one's drawing.

Her latest version last night was that she had seen a little boy who lived next door while they were rebuilding their house that got struck by lightning. They were there over 2 years ago so why he be the model when she sees Joe all the time AND it was supposed to be a picture of Joe.

We've told her that she will NOT be punished if she tells us the truth but if she doesn't tell us the truth she will have no playdates with anyone. We've explained that we are trying to help her/protect her not punish her. Hopefully she'll think about it some more and tell us what is going on.

But now she's getting herself in pretty deep with all these lies.:confused3

Would love that!!!

Thanks Bernadette. Day one is almost done.

sounds like you could use your own dose of  and :wizard: Theresa!

Ditto

all went well... we have a big honkin' white cargo van sitting in our driveway waiting for Sunday morning! :thumbsup2

ETA: That is not a bad picture from my cell phone! I never uploaded one before. I am semi-impressed! :rotfl:

Too bad we don't live closer. That looks exactly like Eric's work van!

you and me both!!!:scared:

Me three

Here's a recap of our first day on the road...

Some of our luggage (there was some missing from this picture)

And remember this is the crap we drove through on Thursday morning.

We stopped at a Super Walmart and got some things for lunch. Fruit and sandwich fixings. We made our lunch in the car and continued on our journey.

For dinner we ate a Sonic in Georgia. We had to stop here as we've never eaten at one before. It was yummy but nothing spectacular.

We stopped for the night at the Georgia Florida border. We stayed at an Econolodge- cheap and clean. All we did was sleep so it suited it's purpose. Got up and on the road by 7:30am. We stopped at a Chick Fil A for breakfast. Yummy!!

Day One, January 18th
Arrival and Magic Kingdom

Are we there yet?!?

We arrived at Pop Century a little after 11am. We headed to check in and were surprised that our room was ready. I was extremely happy. It gave me a better feeling about heading to the park for the day and not having to face unloading the van exhausted. Eric loaded up a luggage cart and made his way to the room. My job was to park the van and get the girls to the room. So off we go to park. Done. Get the stuff we need to carry, the girl’s pillows/blankies and such. I look at the resort map and we make our way to the room. Now this should have taken all of 10 minutes. 25 minutes later the girls and I finally find the room. Apparently I cannot read a resort map to save my life. Put me on a road with an atlas and I’m good to go. A parking lot and hotel grounds- Big Problem!!! Note to self- You need to get out more! Eric was a little frantic- he found the van but could not find us. We were taking the scenic route. We get to room and check out our new digs.

If you ask Molly our house was in the “Green Oh Oh”. Room 4214, 60’s building.

We were right around the corner from the green and pink flower.
P1020015.jpg

I thought it was a good spot, not far from the food court or the parking lot (if you take the correct way). We change and pack the bags for the park. It’s now about 12:30 or so and we are ready to hit Magic Kingdom.

We arrive at Magic Kingdom and it sprinkling, but we’re in Disney so I’ll take it. After getting into the park Emma spots Jiminy Cricket and Pinocchio. We make a dash for Jiminy’s line and get his autograph. Then onto Pinocchio. For some reason Molly would not get in the picture.

As we were finishing up with Pinocchio we saw Snow White and Dopey come out. Over to their line for autographs. We’ve been here all of 10 minutes and got 4 autographs. We head past the flag circle and see Cruella DeVil. The girls want to get her autograph as well. We were the last family allowed in her line before her break. She was quite fun and loved our autograph pages. She wanted us to pose for the picture but we were all laughing hysterically so we look a bit silly.

We made our way down Main Street.
P1010394.jpg

It’s taken us a while to get back but boy was the wait worth it. Can I move here?!? We take a few pictures in front of the castle. I realized that with 5 of us that getting a great shot of all us is impossible.
image0934.jpg

Emma is dying to go to the Hall of Presidents so we head to Liberty Square. We meet 2 very nice ladies and chat with them while we wait to be let in. Emma thoroughly enjoyed this. She loves history and is fascinated with Abraham Lincoln. After the show lets out it’s about a half hour or so til the parade. So we stake a spot out. Molly wanted popcorn so Eric heads off for it. After he gets back the girls want to go play hopscotch. Emma also had to see the Liberty Bell. We should have just gone to DC or Philly- the drive would have been a lot shorter. I also wandered in the Christmas shop. We got back to our spots and enjoyed the parade.

This is Lucy enjoying the parade...
P1010319.jpg

We had a 4:20pm ADR at Crystal Palace so we head back that way. We check in and don’t have much of a wait before we called in. We had a lot of fun here. We enjoyed just about everything they had to offer. We were very hungry- we hadn’t eaten since breakfast that morning. The girls loved all the characters and the napkin twirling.

After dinner we made our way to FantasyLand. Molly’s one and only mission that day was to ride Dumbo! She didn’t care about anything else. We got FP’s for Peter Pan and then did Mickey’s Philharmagic. I love this.

P1010399.jpg

Then we did Snow White and Dumbo, what a long wait but now Molly was happy. It was beautiful seeing the castle all lit up and changing colors from Dumbo. Onto Peter Pan- I really like this ride but do not see how people can wait in the long lines it always has. Every time we passed it the standby time was 50 minutes or greater. The girls were fading fast so we started to head out. We did make a quick stop for Pooh as the wait was less than 10 minutes. As we were leaving we saw bits and pieces of Wishes.

We got back to our room and got the girls bathed and in bed. They were fast asleep within minutes.

Well Lucy wanted to play a little more...

Eric wandered over to the food court for some coffee as I unpacked, washed the bottles, tidied up and got our stuff ready for tomorrow.

It was a great first day.

Sorry the pictures are so big but I'm too lazy to resize them!!

Next installment is Animal Kingdom. It may be a day or more before it gets done though.

okay off to Waco, be back sometime Mon. Not sure if I will check in over the weekend.

Great first day, Robyn. Alyssa and I are enjoying it.

So what does everyone have planned for the weekend?
Nicholas has his First Penance tomorrow in preparation for his First Communion in April. Then we are going out to lunch. He chose Olive Garden. After that, to see the Christian Youth Theater's production of The Wizard of Oz. Then we are picking up one of his friends on the way home for a sleepover. Whew. I'm exhausted just typing that. Sunday is empty so far.
