DDA Chapter 4

I did it!!! I'm all caught up!! Of course, I had to read through all of chapter 3 before I could move over here. Thankfully, I found you!

It was quite a packed weekend!

On Friday night, Alan and I took the kids to the dollar theater to see Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. It was a cute movie, and the kids really enjoyed it.

On Saturday Alan left for a business trip, and the kids and I cleaned the house. Once we were done, they all went to play, while I settled down to making costumes for the school play. I worked on that until about 2:00 when my sewing machine stopped. One call to my sister, and I lined up another sewing machine. I picked up all the kids, went to Walmart for more costume stuff, and then to my sister's house to pick up the sewing machine. She has 3 so I knew she'd be ok with me taking her oldest. Back home, we popped a pizza in the oven, and I worked on costumes. The kids and I watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and then we all went to bed.

Sunday I got myself and the kids ready for church. Once we got there, Katie started complaining about a headache and a stomachache. She showed me a spider bite that looked really painful. Things got worse for her all afternoon, but I didn't pay much attention. She is a bit of a drama queen. By the time we went to bed, she had found a few more spider bites, so I sent her to shake out her bedding before going to sleep. I finished up all the costumes, and then went to bed.

Monday morning, I got Katie up to go to play practice, and her face was covered with spots. It was then I realized that the spider bites were really chicken pox. She played with her best friend on Saturday, and they had chicken pox in their house. Katie had the vaccine, but got it anyway! Luckily, it's been pretty light, and I think she'll be able to go to school on Thursday. Poor little thing! She had to miss the science fair today. What a bummer, huh? Luckily, she did all the research and got the project and poster done early. Her partner did the presenting. They got an honorable mention.

Now, I'm all caught up here, and heading to bed!

Thank you all for the comments on my hair!

Vicki I look forward to seeing your new cut & color.

Without going into detail, I am having a rough night. Please send some PD my way that I don't make decisions that I might regret later.

:wizard: :wizard: :grouphug:

I really like my perm :thumbsup2 The boys both like it as well(Gary will see it later tonight when he gets home). I'm not use to having a slight part to the side ,so I might change that. What do you think?

Glad to here it went well. What is a table test?

From what I understand, they strap her to a table that rotates and connect her to some monitors for blood pressure, etc. They then rotate her at different angles and get the readings. Her blood pressure drops when she stands which has been causing her to have lightheaded episodes. This helps determine the extent of the problem.

I'm finally caught up! Talk to you all tomorrow! I'll try to remember to take and post pictures of my hair tomorrow!

Vicki - glad to hear the MRI went well. I hope the further tests are conclusive, and that's it's nothing to worry about! :wizard: :wizard: Can't wait to see the new cut and color! And don't get frustrated if you can't do the look right away - just keep trying!

Kristine - glad to hear you're having another great day! How did the DDP work this time around? Stay safe - I talked to my DB tonight, and it sounds like most of FL is under those tornado warnings.

Janet - I really like the perm! :thumbsup2 Here's some :wizard: :wizard: for whatever is going on right now!

Glynis - good to see you! Poor Katie! :wizard: :wizard:

Bernadette - glad you got to a doctor, and that he might be one you continue to go to. I hope the meds do the trick. :wizard: :wizard:

:wizard: :wizard: for those of you with bad weather, and having to drive around in it. Be safe!

Well, I need to head to bed. I'm exhausted - spent most of my night formulating touring plans for my friend and her family. They leave tomorrow morning for a 3-day blitz of the parks. That wasn't easy. :upsidedow

Good night, DDA!

Terry - Did you tell her it is against Disney law to waste a code?

Actually, she was asking when Stephanie and I were going in December. I need to give her the dates and if the dates look good, and the money is right for her, she and my sister that lives in St. Pete would come too.

I got home tonight at 12:12pm and just now have calmed down to be able to sleep.

My flight was to leave Atlanta tonight at 6:25pm but was delayed till 6:41pm coming into Baltimore. We landed early and I started asking how the roads were. Hal and even Stephanie were checking for me on the computer and with relatives to see if there was any indication on the driving situation. I got to my car and spent over 20 minutes trying to clean about a 1/4 inch of ice off the windows. This was with the van driver helping me. I am so thankful he came back to help me. He did leave before I could give him a bigger tip so an email will go out to the company making sure he gets recognized. :goodvibes

Driving home was not bad at first, but after I stopped to get ribs from our favorite rib place, the weather went downhill after that. As soon as I crossed the Pa border, it started sleeting and the road was awful. It was terribly slushy and if a vehicle passed me, the wave of water and ice was immense and I almost had to come to a stop to be able to see. I kept thinking I should just have stayed near the airport and driven home the next day.

I am also feeling real sick with a blocked ear that will not pop and a very stuffed nose.

But my sister was able to try on my crocs and loves them. We found a kids shoe store and she was able to get the mammoth ones for $19.90. She also got the bright blue ones and I found the green ones. Very electric looking. So I will go out this weekend to get the mammoth ones too. Very comfortable. That will make four pairs for me. I did get the Relief ones and really like them. Very comfortable. No pain in the heel at all.

Now to go to bed and hope I can get out in the am for work.

The ice did take down a birch tree in our front yard. Thankfully it was not really tall, but it was so pretty.

 I hope you wake up to a better morning! Please let us know if you need anything!

Well, in my case, I had severe morning sickness until halfway through my 5th month. After that, I was feeling the babies move a lot! I loved that!!! They were wedged so tightly that I could see their little toes as they kicked me! Alan used to try to grab them! I really didn't get uncomfortable until the month before I delivered. I delivered at 35 weeks, and was definitely ready. There were at least 2 months where I wasn't sick, and wasn't too uncomfortable.

I hear you about wanting to meet the babies. When we found out that we were having 2 girls, though, I started having nightmares. I was positive that I wouldn't be able to tell them apart. I even went so far as to pack 2 different colors of nail polish in my hospital bag, so that I could "mark" them. I was so relieved when they were born, and I could tell them apart!

Just try to remain calm, and get as much rest as humanly possible.

Oh, by the way, add me to the list of "aunties" that can't wait to find out what you are having, so I can get my shopping started!!!

You all make my day.... these babies are so loved and you don't even "know" me! Less than a week, and you'll know. My parents have to know first! ;)

Poor Katie! Congratulations on honorable mention at the science fair, but how unfair that she didn't get to go! :( I hope she is feeling better soon!

According to a couple of articles I read today, Disney is ready to start a refurb/reopening of the treehouses. As part of DVC and due to the size, they'll probably be out of our budget usually, but maybe we could rent point sometime for a bigger family trip. I've always wanted to stay there!

Oh, how cool! I wish I had time to read those articles. I get them both in a feed though, so I will -- thanks for the heads up!

I'm glad you are home safely.... but I'm sorry you aren't feeling well!

I'm off to get ready for work. Not because I have a death wish, but because I'm only working until about 12:30 today. I have an OB appointment at 1:10 and I'd usually go back afterwards, but Kyle is off today and I'd rather just come home!

We did end up getting a bit more accumulation, but most of the schools are actually closed because of the melting/refreezing that took place. I'm thinking everything is ice... thankfully I don't have far at all, and I'll get on the road before there is much traffic.

Take care!

Good morning!

I was hoping for a school delay here due to the snow, but no such luck!

Thank you all for the comments on my hair!

I had read some info about that over the weekend too. From what I read it seems to me that it is supposition that it will be DVC oriented though.

Glynis, I hope Katie feels better today.

Terry - WELCOME HOME. I wish you felt better and that your drive from the airport had been easier.

Our schools are all on a 2 hour delay here. We had some icing and the temps are hovering right around freezing.
