DDA Chapter 3

PD to everyone who needs it today.

I have been trying to read for a while and keep getting pulled away.

I have been toying withthe idea of making my pillowcases for $$, but it can cost me as much as $10.00 to make a case if the fabric cost me alot, then I use a firm backing for the embroidery.
I might be able to do it cheeper if fabrics are on sale. I would have to get a group that I could try it out on and see if it would pay off.

So the survey is....
What would you all pay for a custom pillowcase? Fabric and embroidery?

$10, $15, $20 more or less?

As a parent of a child in an activity.... Would you be willing to pay for a specail pillowcase for that band, dance group, basball team etc?

OR would you find it bothersum that that are pimping you for more money for a silly thing?

Sample for those of yo have not seen one of my cases in a long time.

Thank you for your time DDA, I am thrilled to have you all to ask these questions.

Well, Brantley-Kate had a migraine, so she went to school at 10:30am. Tonight is the Father-Daughter dance at their school. She is wearing a black velvet and pink silk dress, John will be in a suit, and he got her a wrist corsage. The theme is Winter Wonderland. She is so excited!

When my girls were in cheerleading and they were going to camp, I would have definitely purchased one. We actually did have some air-brushed for them.

I am so sorry that the sickie bugs are still flying rampant around the DDA :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: and prayers that they leave quickly!!

Tia-I am so glad Michael's surgery went well...it didn't dawn on me until last night that the Wish trip report was the Michael you've been talking about the last few months.

Stephanie-I goofed up on porcupine meatballs in the crockpot......it was the only time Jim has ever asked to go out for dinner:rotfl:

For the others I missed:hug: :wizard:

Last night must have been kid procrastination night:headache: Not that it was all Abi's fault they weren't told about the hieroglyphics until yesterday for today. BUT.....don't wait until 8 to try and print said pieces out. Then dad was way too quick in giving up on the new printer.....so I drew a few of them for Abi while I re-established printer connection. :headache: My frustration seems small in comparison.

Abi had honors ceremony yesterday during school...she came home and said her goal was to be High Honors by 8th grade...I told her unless I am mistaken she will make it this semester if she keeps her grades where they are. :goodvibes

Cassidy had to explain the term "DDA Aunties" to my mom this week. It seems that she has narrowed her search for colleges specifically down to places where there will be an "auntie" or other family nearby. So in the next couple of years I will get to meet more of you as we college hunt. :goodvibes
so that means your coming to dallas, austin, and houston? lol

Oh I'm glad she's feeling well enough to go! Please, PLEASE post pictures!

for one of your cases I would pay upwards of $20.:lovestruc

I am pretty sure Cassidy would be the envy of the marching band if she had a custom made pillowcase. There is always some little "extra" we can buy if we want to show our support of the band.

If you are fundraising I would give a percentage back to the program you are doing the job for. We paid $10 for a window decal....$8 or $9 went to the lady making the decal and the program got the other $1 or $2.

I am so glad she is feeling well enough to attend!! I bet they will be the cutest duo there!!:goodvibes

I am thinking it is more of a girl thing. Princess's parents (or grandparents) would easily spend $20 on a pillowcase for her. Heck, I would spend $20 on a pillowcase for her! But I am thinking DS and his peers aren't going to be your market.

Good to hear she's feeling better, can't wait to see pictures of the lovely couple!

Thanks for all the well wishes for my Dr's appt. Wednesday. She was very pleased with my progress, but, she doubled the dose on my diabetes medicine, as my numbers are much better but still not where she wants them. My liver enzymes are elevated so it's back for more bloodwork.

Well, they just left, and now I'm crying. She looked so beautiful, so grown up. It's quite the shock seeing my "baby" look like a young lady. John took the camera with him, so I'll post after they get home. The corsage was beautiful. Hot pink roses with babies breath and ribbons.

well maybe not all three but we will be going to TX.
