Monday morning we had our Christmas trip booked at rack rate. I was able to apply the general public discount to it (only 25% off at AKL for some reason). Then last night when I got home from work I found out that the Annual PassHolder rates had been released. I called CRO and was able to apply that to our reservations. In the space of about 36 hours I saved almost $1600.00.

Wouldn't you think it would make more sense for WDW to drop their prices overall instead of offering all these discounts and incentives to fill their rooms??

I like Disney keeping prices higher as it keeps some people away from my happy place. We know how to find discounts Congrats on your huge savings

I am feeling better tonight. i think gingerale may have helped once I got to work. In any event I feel normal now.

We would like to plan a WDW trip before our annual passes expire next July, but there are so many unknowns that we can't even begin to plan. Hopefully I'll havev a new job so I don't know how much vacation time I'll have or when i'll be able to take it. Nick needs to take drivers ed and it will probably be over the summer. It is frustrating will all the unknowns.

I know the feeling! I keep hoping we'll make next Nov/Dec work, but hate to get my hopes up too much. I'd really like to put a deposit down soon (especially if deals are coming out for so much of the year already) and then make little payments along the way so hopefully it will just be done and paid by the time the trip comes.

Yeah for those savings! I agree with you on lowering the rates, but then maybe so many have come to expect discounts to come up that it might have some of the opposite affects too.


I know that I had more things marked to quote than that. Must have lost them in the restart of IE though usually they stay. I don't know if I remember for sure what they were...

Mom called a few minutes ago and said that they gave her a room number and that Dad is in recovery. She gave up just waiting for the doctor to come in and called anyway so that we wouldn't worry as it got later. Hopefully the doctor will be up soon to talk to her and she's waiting in the room for him and for Dad to be brought in. Thanks for the prayers everyone! Hopefully we'll know more soon.

I made 3 homemade macaroni and cheeses today. One for dinner tonight, one for the camper freezer and one for our freezer. Look at me planning ahead I'm heading off to work in a short while. Have a great evening.

We don't actually know the details of how everything went because the doctor apparently tried to stop in while Mom was waiting in the wrong room. The person who wrote it down didn't do so very clearly so she waiting in the wrong room for awhile. The doctor stopped in, didn't see anyone, and didn't come back again. So, we won't know those details until he does rounds in the morning. I saw dad briefly tonight and he's in some pain and was still groggy from the surgery, anesthesia, etc. He's also not thrilled with the whole "clear liquid diet" thing. Hopefully, though, he'll be able to eat more in the morning. So far we still think he's coming home sometime tomorrow, but will know more on that later as well. Right now, I'm just waiting for mom to get home for the night. Dad ended up with someone else in the room with him so she's not planning to stay overnight.

Well, it's taken me all day it seems, but I'm finally caught up on the computer! Actually, I was mostly caught up by 11 or so (didn't end up having the extra baby today after all). However, then there were the many replies to the things I caught up on that had to be replied to again. Now tonight I got Terra's school log back up to date. Thank goodness I'd decided to keep a little notebook in my purse that I jot things down on as they happen. It made it much easier to transfer 8 days worth of stuff to the document without having to wrack my brain. Sometimes I do think ahead!

Mom came home around 10:30 and said that Dad really woke up around 8:00 and was doing a lot better after that. Also, from the way the nurse talked, it may be Friday before he comes home, but we'll see what the doctor says tomorrow. He was sitting up a lot tonight and they finally got him back in bed around 10 just before Mom left. Overall, he's doing pretty well.

I guess the nurses commented several times about how he should be more awake before that, but Mom told them that he probably slept 2-3 hours last night and no more than 4-5 the night before that. He was probably catching up on sleep as much as he was trying to come out of anesthesia.

Elin, I've found what I like in a car, but now I just need to like the price and I should be all set. I was really wanting my van to last 2.5 more years, until I retire. I hate the thoughts of putting so many miles on a new vehicle.

So I am making lots of lists today LOL. We have tax free weekend this weekend so making a list for that. Then their is a list of things or ideas for the girls room to get it a little more organized so I can get the toys in their as well as 2 beds, a dresser and book shelf. Then the Christmas list. What I have and what I think I might want to get them still. Their travel DVD players died so need to get a new one or two. Trying to decide if I should get the girls individual ones or the dual screen one. Then Jeff is on vacation next week. So making him a list of things we need to do around the house next week.
