Well I am sore but I exercised again today. I also did better with my more water / less pepsi. I can do this! I'm off to bed. Have a great day tomorrow.
Yes, you can! Great job!

Good Morning All!!

4th day in and not adjusting too badly....until I can get on my feet (figuratively and literally:laughing:) we will be living with my mom and Mark.

Yesterday was cut all my hair off day....6 inches in the back not so much in the front and I am on the look out for a brown pair of work shoes that will fit my brace with it....I am thinking it's a lost cause.

Humidity still may be the death of me:littleangel:
I'm glad to hear that you are settling in well. I hate humidity, too.

Crazy Day. I got to work this morning and found out that I was taking the boy on a field trip to a farm. I had no idea and wasn't dress to be walking around a farm. None the less we went. Apparently on past visits he usually didn't make it out of the van or off the driveway and his aide would take him back. Not today. He stayed the entire time and even participated some. He was actually very well behaved today and even quiet during the lock down. That is it for subbing for me this year. I need my days to complete projects as my nights are full.

At 5:30 Colby has his last Lacrosse game and then I'm off to work.
I'm glad that it went well.

We are done with SOLs!!!!! :bounce:
That abbreviation always makes me think of something else. We just call ours "NYS tests" or "the State tests".

Good morning! I work up this morning remembering that I forgot to send my aunt some tourist ideas for her friend coming to St. Louis. Between thinking about that and having to go to the bathroom there was no go back to sleep. So, I'm up a little early. Just about time to get showered and loaded up though.

See you all soon.
Have a great trip!

Well our home repairs were not as bad I had feared! :thumbsup2 Today I am getting my hair done & boy it really needs it, I look like a sheepdog right now (& no I am not posting pictures of me looking like a sheepdog!:rotfl2:)

After that I have to get giftcards for the teachers..not sure which to get though. I bought them Starbucks cards at Christmas & did not want to do that again...maybe Target? Everyone can use a Target card right? :confused3

I can always use a Target card! One of my preschoolers gave me a Target card at the end of the year, and it was definitely appreciated.

Bernadette, I missed your post the first time through. Miles starts middle school next year, too. Our middle school is under massive renovation/construction right now, though, so they are moving all the 6th graders into one of the other elementary schools for the year. They will still change classes and have the middle school 6th grade curriculum, though. In 6th grade they change classes all together as a group, except for some specials that they get to choose. We will be looking at a drastically earlier start time than we are used to. Our elementary school starts at 8:50 am and is a 1-minute walk up the hill. The middle school starts at 7:20 am and requires a half hour bus ride. It doesn't take a half hour to get there if you were to drive, but with all the stops, the kids have to be out at the bus stop by 6:50 am. Matthew adapted very well. Laura not so much. Miles is more like Laura in this area, I think.

Have a great day, DDA! I need to get Miles some breakfast and make sure he's ready to go and then start painting away.

I've been here in July remember? :lmao:

Which reminds me....who wants to go out with me for my last birthday before I hit the 40's??? I thought I would try and do something fun for my birthday weekend July 10th and 11th?

We will be heading to Baltimore on the 10th to spend the night before flying out on the 11th!

I'm in for whatever!

Well... the 11th is Theresa's birthday and mine is on the 10th, although it will be my last one in my 50s. It is a weekend so I am not teaching.

Sounds like a party in Baltimore to me!

My hair needs cut/colored too, but I'm not happy with where I've been going, so I keep putting it off. I have no idea where to go next.

I bought our teachers Panera cards at Christmas. I think I will buy them GCs for a local teacher supply store now. Or maybe I did that backwards. :confused3:rotfl:

I had no recitals or lessons yesterday so I took it easy! Worked in my garden a little, put things together for today's recitals and printed programs for the last 6 I have to do.

I also made Tammi's Teriyaki Chicken last night. I made some changes to it (used peas instead of broccoli) and will make even more next time (I am going to marinate the chicken in the teriyaki sauce), but we liked it a lot. It was quick and easy!

What chicken is that? :rotfl:Honestly, I don't remember. Give me my recipe please. :rotfl2:

The rest of the week is going to be crazy busy. And then we are DONE with all activities, until August. Tonight Alyssa has her dress rehearsal for ballet, tomorrow night is rehearsal for jazz and tap. Her studio is so big that they have to break it up into different days. Then Friday night and Saturday afternoon are her recitals. I must say, I do love the dance shows. It's their night/day to shine after a year of hard work!

Kristin and I tried the new salon at the corner of Hanover and Kenmore downtown. They are a bit pricey but we both got great haircuts. It is called Salon 730 (it is located at 730 Kenmore). Teddi cut our hair and we were pleased. Worth a try, anyway!

I am going to my "old" hairdresser for color on Saturday and I am going to explain to her about the haircut. If she can't maintain it I will switch stylists for the first time in 18 years.

As a teacher, I love getting gift cards. I have gotten everything from wine gift cards ;) to Panera, Target, Wegman's, Borders, Olive Garden, local restaurants and coffee shops. We really enjoy the restaurant ones since they allow us to stretch our dining budget!

I also appreciate the cards my students make me more than anything else I receive.

Tammi’s Teriyaki Chicken

1/4 cup Italian salad dressing
1 lb. boneless chicken cut into strips
1 1/3 c. water
1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 cups frozen broccoli florets
1 1/2 c minute rice, uncooked

Heat dressing, add chicken and cook through.

Add water, teriyaki and garlic; bring to a boil

Stir in broccoli and rice; cover. Cook on low heat 5 minutes. Let stand 5 min. before serving.

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

Only two recitals and a private lesson today!

I saw their ad in the paper yesterday. Did you walk in or do you need an appt.?

WOOHOOO!!

I couldn't remember if it was your last one in the 50's...I remembered though when your birthday was...I love having a non family member with the same birthday month. :lovestruc

Wow, where did my morning go? Today is our 45 day until cruise mark and we could start booking the onship entertainment. I checked after midnight and couldn't do it then, so stupid me thought "It's not Disney how hard can booking a show be?"...wrong. Our first choice for 2 shows was already booked, but I managed to get everything we wanted by switching days around for the first reservation. Logged off that reservation and onto the second only to find out that one show that I had booked had no room for the other 3 in our party. After a long time on hold I was able to get us all into that show on a different night. Since I've never heard of having to book onship entertainment in advance I think there will be a lot of unhappy people on the ship when they can't get into the shows :rolleyes1 So we will be seeing Blue Man Group on departure day, We have Slime Time Live the next day with Cirque Dinner show that evening (It is our Anniversary), nothing available on Monday, Tuesday we have The Second City Comedy Troup, nothing Wednesday, Thursday well see Legends in Concert and Friday we're doing a Murder Mystery Lunch. I still need to see if the boys want the Nickelodeon Character Breakfast, but otherwise we've booked all we can. Howl at the Moon will also have shows, but that doesn't require pre booking. I really hope that we have time to experience everything onboard.

Now I need to get some things done here and meet Chris for lunch

Good morning all!!

Today we will be tracing, cutting and coloring at my mom's church in preparation for VBS....this is also a position I have applied for (along with my mom...she's kind of got it in the bag as she's been acting Children's Director for awhile) I have to get moving on getting my resume updated.
