so their is tons of talk on the codes forums about 40% off pin codes people are getting, and then today WDW released a general public code for 40% off delux till 10/2/10. I have been trying to decide if I was to get a pin or WDW released a general public 40% off delux for Dec. where would I stay. Which one would you all do? I was thinking Contemporary and maybe doing Concierge but is it worth it for Concierge?

Jennifer - Sorry that things are still so up in the air with your dad. I hope that you can get up there to see him tonight and see what's going on for sure. Our prayers and :wizard: continue.

We stayed at a regular MK view room (no concierge) in October at the CR & LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it!!! Getting to MK was great. The pool was fun, they added a splash zone for little ones, & the grab & go (Contempo Cafe) was great for breakfast. I would stay there again in a heartbeat but my family prefers Epcot  so the Boardwalk resort work better for our park days...

Jennifer,

:wizard::wizard::wizard: for your Dad. Hope you can get to see him today.

So it is after 11:00 and I still have two sleeping babies. The little one had a bottle and went right to sleep after arrival at 7:30. The bigger one got here and asked to be put back to bed. Her mom said that she was up until after midnight last night. So I'm guessing that maybe naptime is off for her this afternoon. However, I will definitely take this quiet morning! I've hung out with Terra a little bit, made Brownies, finalized plans for our last Daisy meeting tomorrow and done lots of random computer stuff. Ahhhh.... Of course, I'll probably pay for it the rest of the day, but oh well.

And there would be the little one...

I'm starting to get a sore throat, hope it isn't strep.

I've spent the morning doing housework and 1/2 the house looks awesome. Maybe someday I'll find time for the other half :rotfl2: I've also made dinner and put it in the crock pot to keep it warm for the men in my life. I'm working and they either have a game or practice so it will be nice for them to come home to a hot dinner. Brownies are about to come out of the oven too. :goodvibes

Deluxe availability with codes can be very spotty. If you are flexible about which resort you have a better chance of getting a discounted room. I know in the past we have had a terrible time getting the room we wanted with a discount.

thanks Elizabeth. If we stayed at deluxe we would want monorail hotel. Of course if free dining comes out then I might be willing to pay rack rate for a deluxe hotel.

Definitely run the numbers on free dining vs. a room only discount. If "free" dining would only save you $114 per day (the cost of basic DDP for 2 adults, 2 children) the room only discount is probably a better deal. The CHEAPEST room at the Contemporary is $285, and 40% off is $114. If your room is more, then you are better off with the room discount, not free dining.
I personally think free dining is just a marketing hook. ;)

I had an update from Jennifer this afternoon. The doctors said they got enough on her dad's 2nd biposy to test and that it was negative. They think his current breathing issues are that they pneumonia never went away completely and has resurfaced. Hopefully he'll be on the mend soon!

Happy Birthday Heidi!!!

Just a reminder to everyone to be careful what you post here on the DIS in terms of personal info. A friend of mine had some really ugly things happen to her over the weekend, and the person who was doing the ugly things used info & photos from the DIS to craft some nasty rumors. :sad2: The person wasn't just out to smear my friend, but also my friend's son. (He is an adult, but it was still an evil thing to do.) Mean, hateful and WRONG on every level. :sad2: There is no telling who lurks on these boards, and obviously some of them have a LOT of time on their hands.
That is pretty scary!!!:scared1:

As you all know dad was having a biopsy last week and his lung collapsed. that was wed. they put a tube in his chest. to drain the fluid. on friday evening they pulled the tube. his oxygen sats with the tube in were 89% to 96%. once they took the tube out his sats were 84% to 90% with 15 liters of oxygen via face mask. They moved him to a regular room thurs morning and back to IMC early friday morning. supposably to better watch his breathing. Sat. afternoon they gave him a unit of blood his hemaglobin was 7.1 it came up to 7.9 after the unit of blood. Mom got a phone call this morn before 7am that they had moved him she said to CCU? not sure soupposeably to better watch his breathing. I have not been able to get up their to see him as they have very strict visitng hrs and no one under 12 is allowed in. I am hoping I can get up their tonight after Olivia's daisy meeting.
:hug:Continued prayers for your Dad!

I've only been to CR 1 time and it was a short 3 night trip with some problems (flight delays, lousy weather, travel partner issues....) but I really enjoyed the hotel. I was staying CL and did enjoy their service was excellent but not sure if I can say it is worth it. The rack rate on a tower room value season is $400 for CL it is $540 so $84 more after 40% off.

A few things I didn't like were the lack of drawer space if you want to unpack and the funky low sinks in the bathroom. The things I did like were walk to MK and HUGE rooms.

If you want to try concierge you might want to consider AKL but that can be difficult to book with a discount. All CL rooms are savanah view. The rack rate of $350 is a lot cheaper than CR and their CL service is very good. I thought the bus service was very good but I am always at the bus stop well before park opening and don't often stay til park close.

I'm starting to get a sore throat, hope it isn't strep.
:wizard:Hope no strep!!!

Joe seems to be all better! Now I just hope the girls don't catch it and NOT on Wednesday morning!!!!

Heidi -- Happy, Happy Birthday!

Jennifer -- I hope your Dad feels better ASAP!

Deb -- hope Colby, you and the rest of your family feel better soon!

Between ball games now so I thought I would see what's going on.

Have a good evening everyone!

That sounds good. At least it isn't more serious. Thanks for posting, Tia.

Well, it seems I have a runner in my family. Alyssa finished the 1 mile race yesterday with a time of 10:12, finishing 85/150, in the 8yo girl heat. She loves to run and I told her if she keeps it up that someday we would run in the family run at WDW. Problem is...............I'm not a runner!!!!

Work was uber slow tonight. The fact that I was missing 2 of my kids games made it much worse. To top it of I missed Hunter scoring his first goal EVER. Both teams lost, but it was much better than Friday night's games.
