DDA Chapter 24

Good evening all! Just a quiet (HA!) evening here with all 5 kids and 3 of 4 sisters running/hanging around. Kristi got off early tonight because of last weekend's conference so I didn't have the kids on my own long and Erin wasn't far behind her. The two of them provided the majority of the ingredients for taco soup as well, which is always nice. (And yummy!!) Now the kids are playing for a while longer I guess since Chris is studying at home and Erin is now watching Grey's Anatomy so won't be leaving for an hour. It'd be helpful if they'd just go ahead and call school early so no one had to worry about getting home right away, but nothing is cancelled yet anywhere so I'm sure it's not coming until morning. We're getting the sleet so far, are supposed to get 1-2" overnight, 3" more during the day and maybe another 1-3" tomorrow evening. Guess we'll see!

As for me, I'd love to go to bed now! We had MOPS today and then Kaylin and Chase this afternoon so I'm plenty beat. Plus, Rachel wants me to take her out to breakfast before school tomorrow for her birthday (crazy kid will be 14 on Saturday!!! yikes! and came home from school saying a boy had asked her out! double yikes!!) so I've got to get up earlier than usual. Hmmm, maybe I'll head to bed earlier rather than later...

Anne Marie - congratulations to Daniel, and you and Dana! Just goes to show that we need to advocate for our children!

Bernadette - I was on photopass today too, trying to finish up. I think I'm done. It certainly wants me to be.

Theresa - I hope you are getting along okay.

School is canceled for tomorrow.

Thanks for the dittoable post, Tammi.

I cannot believe they are now talking record-breaking snowfalls. I am betting we won't get back to normal until next week too.

Theresa -

Jen and Deb - I hope you feel better soon.

Good morning. :)

Off to work and to face the blizzard!

The county will be putting us up in a hotel right near work tonight and tomorrow so we won't have to drive in this mess. My kids will be with their dad, so that works out good.

Good Morning

I'm off to teach today. I'm actually scheduled as Nick's advisor :lmao: Then we're off to his appt and then I can work tonight. I had forgotten that my Mom was having cake and ice cream for my Dad tonight as it is his birthday. Hopefully I'll get out early enough to stop by. I still have no idea what to get him for his birthday.

Everyone stay safe in the crazy weather!

We had snow this morning & now freezing rain but the kids went into school normal time.

I had this dream last night about the D23 event at WDW in March. I would have loved to go but I knew I really couldn't with Dana's schedule so I put it out of my mind..so last night I dreamt that I was at a desk reading my mail. There was an letter from Disney saying that the ENTIRE CAST OF PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN would be there! I put my head on my desk & just cried my eyes out. Weird!!! I guess it bothered me more than I thought!:rotfl2: Now if this really happens I will be inconsolable!!:rotfl:

Drive safely. Sounds like a good plan for the county. Glad it's going to work out for you.

Good morning!

So far no snow here. It didn't end up getting cold enough here last night so we just have rain with a little bit of slush on the ground. It's still supposed to change to snow, but maybe only 1-3". Of course, then we're supposed to get more on Sunday now as well so we'll see. Right now, Terra's just going to be disappointed that she won't be sledding today. She also really wants to make a snowman, but all of our snow so far has been too dry and fluffy.

The govt is closing through Monday morning. 26 hrs of double time! Cha-ching!

So, I think we're about set for CA this month! I put our tickets on hold with American this morning. I want to double check a few more things, but the prices went down some so I grabbed the hold on them. I've also got ADRs for lunch at Blue Bayou and dinner at Goofy's Kitchen. We'll only do one, but Terra is still trying to decide which one she wants to do.

We'll arrive late on Friday the 19th and leave Wednesday the 24th. After looking at our plans for the week, we decided to do DL on Saturday instead of Monday. I know Sat will be more crowded, but I'm hoping not too much so. Going then let's us go on Terra's birthday and spend an extra day with our friends whom we used to stay with, but they moved too far out to keep doing that for the full trip. I figure that even though the crowds will be larger we get 8am-midnight park hours plus fireworks on Saturday instead of 10am-8pm hours and no fireworks on Monday. That's potentially an additional 6 hours to offset the crowds. Plus, we won't be riding a lot of the e-tickets stuff as Terra's still not ready for those. Now to just decide how important it is to hop to DCA. If a friend can sign us in, we'll be able to hop for free. If not, we'll use our Give-A-Day tickets and then decide whether to spend $50 to upgrade and hop. Well, when I type it like that, I'm thinking we're not hopping. That's a lot of money for just a few favorites. Of course, if I hear there are World of Color soft openings that weekend we may just do it anyway and chalk it up to my birthday present from my grandma.

Bless my kitty.....she can't help it but her poo stinks and I can't run away from it.:rotfl:

that sounds wonderful!!

What is on everyone's menu for Sunday?

Does anybody have a good, creamy fruit dip recipe?

I had a phone call this morning so I got my human contact...between that one and having to call my grandparents to give both girls rides to school as they both overslept their alarms.:rolleyes1 :lmao:It's hard to explain to people my break, surgery and the pain....it's not a common pain.

Matthew is looking at an off-campus apartment for next year. He forwarded the lease agreement for us to look at. What questions do I need to ask? Is there anyway to look around to see how safe this neighborhood is? It's only a few blocks off-campus, and he says it's in a nicer area. This is a big step for me. We were hoping that he would be in one of the campus apartments, but they won't allow co-ed living, and he has two girls as future roommates (all in their own bedrooms). He just hasn't found any guys that he wants to live with. The lease runs August 1 through mid-May, and it is much cheaper than the dorms.
