DDA Chapter 24

Anne Marie. Nice card. It seems that everyone had some nice photo cards made this year.

We are going to see Princess & the Frog this weekend. Hope it's as good as all the hype. At least we got 2 free tickets from wdw when we went in October.

I am also going to try to get the packing done.

I am glad that everyone is getting their cards.

Does anyone know the price of a taxi from a resort to Walmart? John is talking about a nice long trip next year, and we are thinking of having stuff so we can do some meals (read breakfast) and some snacks in the room.

Heidi - I would order things from Garden Grocer, or that other grocery delivery place. Their delivery fee is $12. Let them do the shopping for you. ;) I don't know the cost of a cab, but I'd guess it's more than that!

You haven't see mine yet. I'm annoyed that Kodak printed the text in the wrong spot but don't have it in me to call and try to complain about it.

Don't know. In the past I have paid about $20 to taxi from MK resorts to Pop but this past trip we took a taxi from Pop to AKL for a 7:30 breakfast and I was surprised that it was $13 for that relatively short trip.-Those rates are without tips.

Have you considered garden grocer? I've have good luck with them and I know Kristine and others have had very good service from wegoshop.

You could also consider a towncar from the airport. I've generally had good service on ME but in May 08 I had to wait over an hour for a bus. I didn't want to do that this May so I tried a towncar and really enjoyed the personalized service from them. They will stop at a grocery store for you-I actually just ordered from garden grocer instead-didn't want to stop with the kids.

What places are you thinking about...I am definately going to book Flying Fish after your suggestions. I am looking for new places.

So far I have Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Citrico's, Flying Fish, Yachtsman, Wolfgang Puck Cafe, Yak & Yeti (just because it is convenient). Trying LTT for a lunch one day. Breakfast at CP and Boma, will probably add a Kona breakfast, too. I know we had 3 days with NO ADRs. Which stresses me out. So we'll see how long I can stand to leave them that way. And if we are only going to US/IOA for one day I might need another ADR or 2 for WDW.

We were not impressed with Cali Grill or Narcoosee's this time around. Not sure if I want to go back to Jiko or not. The Sanaa menu doesn't do it for me, and neither does Kouzzina. I have decided that it is asinine to pay over $100 for a buffet dinner so DS can eat one TINY plate of food, so we are sticking with all menu places for dinner.

HA! I was just coming to see if We Go Shop or Garden Grocer was the preferred service. Not sure if we will actually order, but since we'll have a full size fridge I can see getting a couple gallons of milk and maybe some Uncrustables. Maybe coffee and half & half. We usually bring coffee and buy pints of half & half in the gift shop, but if we are ordering other stuff might as well knock it all out at once.

Wegoshop.com is the other one & Marge is great! We used her in March, the delivery fee is $17. You send her a list of what you want & where you want her to shop. You pay whatever the cost is from that store, she will give you a receipt. I liked this because I could look at items online at Walmart & be very precise on what I wanted.

I like Garden Grocer as well, but I think from now on Marge will get my business :thumbsup2

I am rethinking the DxDDP with Joe for May. I once again found the regular DDP too much food. I have to crunch some numbers and see if it doesn't make more sense to just use the TiW that I already have. Joe really enjoys signature dining so we'll still do that but I'm not sure DxDDP is the way to go.

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy Narcoosee's this trip. I know Joe will want to return there but maybe I can get him to try something new. While I enjoyed the food and view at California Grill this trip the service wasn't great. It shouldn't take 3 hours to eat a meal without appetizers. The server was also the only one of the trip who couldn't figure out how to put 3 adult meals on the DDP on one slip and then Lizzy's meal and wine on another slip using TiW and add the tip to that bill. I think it took 45 minutes to pay the bill.

I really enjoyed Flying Fish (I wasn't so close to the screamer). Coral Reef was also very good. I would say Le Cellier was fine but didn't wow me. I enjoyed Boma for both dinner and breakfast. Lizzy even ate 2 plates of food at Boma dinner.

How about those Horns!!! I was on the edge of my seat at the end of the game. National Championship...here we come!

That was one insane game. Glad you survived it! I hope you'll get to make the trip to CA!

Congrats, Robyn!!

Yeah, Robyn!

And one week from tonight I leave for WDW!!

(I am not ready and am panicking a little!)

You'll be great. Have (another) wonderful time!

Help!! I can't find the recipe that Glynis posted for cinammon rolls....I think I might just be in the mood to make them sometime this weekend and I want to make sure I have all of the ingredients.

Haven't tried them yet, but I think we will this weekend when Granny and Aunt Pam are here.

Hello DDA!

I come bearing great news for once! My BIL Chris got a call this morning making him an offer for the police academy for the County Police! The offer is conditional on his physical exam tomorrow and his psych exam on Monday, but none of us are worried about these. By being hired on entering the academy, the County Police will pay him a salary during the academy as well as guarantee a job after it's over. He'll also be able get his GI Bill during the academy. Academy will start Jan 4 so as of the end of this month, he'll know longer be relying on car sales! Woohoo!! I know that Kristi is so relieved that he's on his way out of sales right now.

We have Citricos booked for Easter day..looking forward to that since we have never been there.

We ate at Cali Grill in October & our server was outstanding. He was all over us & very chatty with the kids...a server can make or break a meal.

We tried Coral Reef for the 1st time in October & again our server was excellent.

Flying Fish is on my to do list.:thumbsup2

Yacthman is another one we have never tried...

We have some standards that we always go to (Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace, & Beirgarten) but for the summer trip I would like to make adr's for restaurants that we have never been to before...I think that would be fun.

Fly by post, to keep you updated on Sammy. He had a strong, loud heartbeat today. My glucose test came back normal (yay!), but I am anemic again (boo!). Hopefully this last trimester will be relatively quick and painless. :goodvibes

Hope you are all well and staying warm!

Thank you for the Christmas cards we have received!

We're continuing to lift Hunter and your family up in prayer, Deb!
