DDA Chapter 23

I am deep cleaning my refrigerator....what an unpleasant task! I go over it with a teeny brush...this annoys Bill greatly. :rotfl2:

Can you come do mine? I will even pay for your plane ticket and hotel room! :rotfl2:

We made spiders two different kinds. They came out cute and are small enough for a snack on the go.

I bought oreo cakesters, licorice whips, a tube of frosting and M&Ms. I used a knife to separate the cakesters in the frosting area. Then we cut the licorice into 1 1/2" pieces and stuck 8 "legs" into the frosting, then stuck the cakester back together. We used 3 dots of frosting to stick 2 M&Ms into. Pretty easy and very cute. The hardest part is separating the cakester without breaking them.

Second spiders:

1 cup honey
2 cups crunch peanut butter
3 cups dry milk
tube frosting
M&Ms
chow mein noodles

Mix the honey with the peanut butter until smooth. add in the dry milk and mix into a playdough consistancy. Use your hands to make small balls and put on cookie sheet. Place in refrigerator for 20 minutes to firm up the balls. Then take 8 noodles and stick into balls for legs. Use frosting and M&Ms to make eyes. Again pretty easy.

I had the kids help me and it took about 1 1/2 hours to make about 3 dozen creepy spiders for the bakesale.

Very creative and cute ideas! Thanks!

Beth one year my sister did a cousins birthday treat - make regular cupcakes, frost add put a Halloween peep on top.
Halloween peeps that we have (of course they are made here in PA, so we get ones other states don't) Ghost, Pumpkin, Chocolate Cat.

Also there are a few recipes on the peep site. www.marshmallowpeeps.com

Another great idea! Thanks! I didn't realize that Peeps were made in PA. I think I've seen all those around here, too, but we're only minutes from the PA border.

OK - here is what is available... more direction, please??

Cat 1 - 102 G 7 & 8 @ 111.83
Cat 2 - 206 BB 17 & 18 @ 90.53
Cat 3 - 206 JJ 3 & 4 @ 73.49

Beth its about a 15 minute drive to the factory for us.

OK, friends... I need pointers for La Nouba. Kathrin and I are the only members of our family to ever want to see it and I just realized that we have an open night before Bob and Kristin get to WDW! And there are tickets available all over the venue. HELP!!! I don't want to break the bank, but I want decent seats!

We sat in 203, EE, towards the middle of the row above the walkway opening.

Ok all, John asked me last night what resort I want to stay at next year?

I orignially wanted AKL, but now I am thinking Wilderness Lodge, so my question to you is what resort would you pick?

AKL is our favorite. We just liked WL "OK". We didn't love it.
The transportation at WL was confusing. The boats were OK, but the MK boat doesn't run early enough to get you to an 8 AM Crystal Palace breakfast. The bus stop for MK had a "hood" over it the entire time we were there so we were never sure if there WAS a bus. Buses to the other parks stopped at the camp ground and/or sometimes the GF, Contemporary, etc. It was hard to judge travel time because you never knew how many other places you would go first.
Roaring Forks is small and gets crowded - Mara is more spacious. Other than that we thought WL was fine, but we prefer AKL.

Elin I have read that you can never have a bad seat, I would go with the cheap seats.

I still have lots of finishing touches on our Halloween costumes, but I wanted to give you an update...

First of all, thank you so much for your prayers!

Kevin was as cool as a cucumber (how in the world did he get shingles with such a calm demeanor?!!), but I was a stressed-out mess. The Level II ultrasound lasted about an hour, and it seems that though a choroid plexus cyst is still present on Samuel's little head, the doctor could not link it to any other issue (spinal, heart, hand and feet look good (a factor in Trisomy 18), etc.). Of course, without an amnio, doctors can't rule out everything, but the doctor was confident that the remaining cyst is going to dissolve before birth and baby Sammy should be just fine. He's already a very active little guy!

Kevin is still on the mend. He's still experiencing quite a bit of pain, and he wishes there was an "end" in sight, but hopefully rest will continue to help him heal. We leave for WDW two weeks from today!

Again, thank you so much for your support!

Happy Halloween to all!
Amy :)

Thanks Elizabeth.

I am leaning more towards AKL, as John said if we stay Savanah view we should see some animals.

Is my top 3

Kirsten loves Peeps....not to eat. But to play with. She gets attached to them. I have to sneak in at some point and throw them out when they start to crumble & decay.

One year Bill ate one of her friends....she didn't talk to him for a day

Only online under about peeps.

Thank you Kristine, and another quick question. Is it hard to get BC? John said that he read its hard to get a room at BC and Boardwalk.

It all depends on your time of year. Those 2 at Food & Wine time are tough....most people have good luck with wait lists though.

Amy....I'm so glad you had positive report on the ultrasound. :thumbsup2

So I take it you shouldn't tell her about people putting peeps in the microwave?

Oh, and our use month (is that what its called?) is Feb.
